Chapter 11: Little Yellow Hair

Xu Youyou looked at him with a smile.

Triangle Eyes scratched his nose awkwardly. "Of course, if you like it, I'll take a loss. I'll sell it to you for 100 yuan. Just think of it as making a new friend."

Xu Youyou pulled out her phone, opened an orange app, snapped a photo of the Doucai cup, and found the exact same one listed online—for only 30 yuan.

Triangle Eyes lowered his voice. "Alright, beautiful, since you really want it, I'll let you have it for 40 yuan. I need to make a little something. Besides, you're saving time on shipping, right?"

Xu Youyou nodded without hesitation. After buying the Doucai cup, her system still pointed toward the stall—but now it was pointing to the empty spot where the cup had been.

She glanced at the space and saw only a newspaper from last week. It didn't look valuable at all.

But the system's indicator kept flashing—faster and faster.

Xu Youyou, having dealt with the system many times before, had learned to recognize some patterns.

The reason for the persistent flashing was simple: she had arrived too early. The real opportunity for a bargain hadn't come yet.

Still, she kept browsing the items at Triangle Eyes' stall. When she saw something that looked pretty, she'd casually buy it.

Triangle Eyes was thrilled. Even though Xu Youyou had a frugal eye and was only picking up cheap fakes, he could still make a small profit. Better some business than none at all.

"Beautiful, I can tell you're an expert," Triangle Eyes said with a grin. "I actually have a treasure at home I wasn't planning to sell. But since we get along so well…"

Xu Youyou glanced at him indifferently. "Oh? I'm not interested."

His attempt to sell her something expensive failed again. Triangle Eyes glanced at her casually discarded handbag. As an antique dealer, his eyes were sharp—he could tell at a glance that her bag was worth a fortune. What a shame he couldn't make money off someone so rich.

As they talked, a strong smell of smoke drifted over. A young man with dyed yellow hair, looking barely out of his teens, walked up and pulled something from his pocket, glancing around mysteriously.

"Boss, I've got something good to sell you!" he said.

Triangle Eyes barely reacted.

Xu Youyou looked at the yellow-haired boy. His eyes were bloodshot, his face unusually excited, and the smell of smoke clung to him. Something about him felt off—disturbed, even.

Her system's pointer now shifted—aiming directly at the boy, or rather, the item he was holding.

Triangle Eyes took the object and examined it briefly before scoffing. "I thought you brought something special, but it's just a fake Doucai cup. Lost your money gambling, didn't you? Trying to scam me?"

But the yellow-haired boy was insistent. "This is a real treasure! It's worth a lot!"

Triangle Eyes turned to Xu Youyou and said, "Look, beautiful, it's exactly the same as the one you just bought."

Xu Youyou glanced at it. Her heart stirred slightly, but her expression remained calm. "Good things come in pairs. I bought the first one for 40 yuan, so I'll take this one too."

The yellow-haired boy shook his head violently. His eyes rolled. "No way! This is an heirloom! At least 300—no, 400,000 yuan!"

Xu Youyou and Triangle Eyes both burst out laughing.

Triangle Eyes didn't even bother inspecting the cup. "Kid, your gambling addict dad already pawned everything your family owns. You think I don't know? Your ancestors were broke. Where would they get treasure from?"

But the boy stayed stubborn. "This one's different. I dug it up from the ground!"

"Where? Don't tell me you're robbing tombs now? You barely have the guts to steal wallets, and now you're going after the big leagues?" Triangle Eyes sneered.

The boy insisted, "It's still a treasure!"

After all, he went to great effort to steal it. The person who'd hidden it had taken extreme care, which made the boy instinctively believe it was valuable.

"If it's so precious, why don't you take it to Boguzhai?" Triangle Eyes said impatiently. "If the owner there wants it, you'll know it's real."

Boguzhai was the biggest antique shop in the area—home to genuine treasures and hefty price tags.

But of course, the yellow-haired boy didn't dare go there. If he had, he wouldn't be trying his luck at this stall.

Triangle Eyes sighed. "Kid, if I didn't watch you grow up, I wouldn't even bother pointing you in the right direction. You should just sell it to the lady here for 40 yuan. Anyone else wouldn't pay even 10."

The boy hesitated.

Xu Youyou casually took out the imitation Doucai cup she had just bought.

The boy glanced at it—it looked nearly identical to his.

She said, "Never mind. If you don't want to sell, I'm not buying. I just thought it would be nice to have a matching pair."

Since arriving at the stall, Xu Youyou had acted like a rich and carefree buyer—spending easily and seemingly without much thought. It wasn't suspicious at all for her to want a second matching cup.

Seeing his only potential buyer about to leave, the boy panicked. "Okay, fine! I'll sell it—but not for 40 yuan. It's got to be 100!"

Xu Youyou looked at him sideways. "I may be rich, but I'm not stupid. I was being kind because we crossed paths. If you want to play games, I'd rather buy another from Taobao."

She glanced at Triangle Eyes suspiciously. "The two of you aren't running a scam together, are you? Trying to cheat me out of a few dozen yuan?"

Triangle Eyes immediately raised his hands in mock surrender. "Beautiful, if I had the skills to scam people, wouldn't I be making thousands instead of struggling to earn ten yuan?"

The yellow-haired boy deflated. He really was desperate for money.

"…Fine, 40 yuan it is. I'm just unlucky today."
