Chapter 47: Wang Dong: Lin Qinghan is a Good Person

Lin Qinghan carefully observed the flying soul guide device, checking for any flaws. Once he was confident there were none, he stored it in his storage soul guide. At the moment, there was no immediate need to experiment with it, and he likely wouldn't use it for several months. Lin Qinghan had mostly created the flying soul guide as a form of practice.

In truth, with Lin Qinghan's current soul power, he could easily activate an eighth-level soul guide device. However, in the world of Douluo Continent Three Kingdoms, soul guides above the sixth level were scarce and extremely expensive, so he didn't focus on creating eighth-level devices. Making a sixth-level soul guide device was the most he could manage in a short period. Any further improvement would require considerable time and effort, and since soul guides weren't his primary focus, he wasn't interested in dedicating excessive energy to them.

The battle armor that would appear a thousand years later was also too complex for him to consider. Not only would it require cross-era knowledge about soul guides, but it would also need the ability to forge metal, which was too difficult to study from scratch. Lin Qinghan had decided not to pursue it.

After restoring the soul and mental power he had spent, Lin Qinghan decided not to practice anymore. Instead, he laid down on his bed to sleep.

Not long ago, he had condensed a soul power vortex for Tang Ya using the Gold of Life, and then he had done the same for himself. This soul power vortex, located at the center of his brow, was the foundation of the first soul core he aimed to condense.

Lin Qinghan's soul power vortex wasn't organized by specific attributes. Instead, it was a mix of soul powers and mental powers, with a few soul core characteristics. This vortex allowed him to not only accelerate the recovery of his soul and mental power but also to practice automatically, albeit slowly.

Even though Lin Qinghan had opened all the meridians in his body, he had never used the meditation method. Since then, he relied on the Life Yang condensed by the Gold of Life in his sea of spirit to drive his instinctive practice. Now, with a soul power vortex, he was close to condensing his first soul core. However, Lin Qinghan wasn't rushing to improve his soul power and preferred not to be too diligent in his practice.

Recently, he had spent most of his nights studying soul guides. It had been several months since his last proper sleep, and he planned to sleep that night.

Nothing notable happened that evening. The next morning, Lin Qinghan got up early and noticed Wang Dong, who was still practicing in her bed. He couldn't believe his eyes. Hadn't Wang Dong always been lazy? But now, it seemed like she had been motivated by something—likely him—and had become more diligent.

"Good morning, did you practice all night, too?" Lin Qinghan asked.

Wang Dong, startled by his gaze, quickly woke up. She was surprised because she thought Lin Qinghan would always be practicing. After all, with his high level of soul power, he must have been very diligent.

"No, I didn't practice last night." Lin Qinghan observed her expression, noting that she seemed hesitant to speak. Then, an idea struck him.

"By the way, what did you ask yesterday? Now that I'm your boss, if there's anything special you need, I can accommodate your circumstances."

Though Wang Dong didn't bring up what happened the previous day, Lin Qinghan knew that it must have been inconvenient for her to live with him.

"Well, it's nothing. Just don't be naked in the dormitory. And if you're bringing a boy over, please let me know in advance. I'm a bit of a germophobe," Wang Dong said, her tone a bit careful, even cautious. Compared to her request the day before, this was a complete change.

"As for those rules, I'll clean the dormitory," Wang Dong added quickly, as if worried Lin Qinghan might refuse. She had never cleaned a room herself. Growing up in the Haotian Sect, servants had always done that sort of thing.

"Okay, those are fair rules, but I don't think you're familiar with cleaning, so I'll do it," Lin Qinghan replied. Asking a rich girl to clean would probably make things more chaotic. Luckily, Lin Qinghan had his spiritual position to help, so it would take only a few seconds to clean the room.

"Thank you. I really need these rules," Wang Dong said gratefully, looking at Lin Qinghan. In her mind, she thought, I didn't expect this guy to be not only good-looking but also so nice. I was too rude and provocative yesterday, and he taught me a lesson.

Lin Qinghan, oblivious to the fact that he had already earned Wang Dong's admiration, simply considered her as a safe younger brother.

"Well, it's time for breakfast. You go get it. Get the most expensive set meal, and once you have it, put it directly into the storage soul guide. Just don't get caught."

Lin Qinghan handed Wang Dong a gold soul coin savings card like he did yesterday. Taking care of her younger brother's responsibilities included sending him on errands and handling small tasks.

"Got it."

Wang Dong took the card from Lin Qinghan, but this time, she didn't mind. After spending the night practicing, she didn't need to change clothes. She quickly got up and walked out of the dormitory.

In her mind, Lin Qinghan's attitude toward her had improved. Despite being much stronger than her and having been provoked the day before, Lin Qinghan had never bullied her. As his younger brother now, it was her duty to run errands like buying food for him.

However, something felt strange to her.

On her way to the cafeteria, Wang Dong scratched her head, thinking she had overlooked something. But she quickly dismissed it and hurried on.

Ouch!

Unfortunately, just after Wang Dong quickened her pace, she collided with someone.

"Sorry, I bumped into you. Are you okay?" Wang Dong quickly helped the blue-haired girl she had knocked down to her feet.

"I'm fine. Just don't run so fast next time," the blue-haired girl said, standing up. Wang Dong realized that the girl was so short that she hadn't seen her earlier.

The blue-haired girl was Huo Yutong, who usually woke up early. She was a bit annoyed to be bumped into, especially since there were hardly any people around at this hour.

Huo Yutong, who had a good temper, wasn't angry, though. "If you're fine, I'll leave now."

After apologizing, Wang Dong hurried off to the cafeteria, but Huo Yutong remained standing, looking puzzled.

That person looks like a boy, but why does he feel so strange?

Huo Yutong muttered to herself. Wang Dong's hand had felt softer than her own—certainly not like a boy's hand at all.
