"Whatttt!!!! What is this??" Cleo exclaimed in astonishment.
Judging by the other's expression, it seems the party interface has finally showed itself.
"It's The Interface, or to be precise, it's Party Interface. My quirk. You see a screen in front of you? Showing our names and the features of the interface, I recon. This is similar to the other part of the interface, User Interface. To navigate through it you need to either think of the action, or say it out loud."
As I was saying this, I used the map through the Interface, and I saw the icon of an unfolded map, below the Map. Hmm... Let's see what it does. I subconsciously reached out my finger, and instead of phasing through the screen, my finger actually touched the icon. As soon as it did, the map expanded, and from the look of it, the others could now see my screen too.
"Is that the Map? It is clouded? I guess this shows the map of how far you have travelled in the world. But Jay... The map has a little more than just the cities of this world. If you look at it from behind, it's a completely different map. A map I haven't ever seen before." Max said curiously.
Hearing this, I made the map flip through the screen with a thought, which surprised even me. Seems like this system is still a mystery.
And there it was, a map different from this world's. Filled mostly with water, yet had large landmasses. Rough shapes, jagged borders, and distributed throughout the world, lay the land. On the map, I could see the names of the places. 7 Countries. 24 Cities. The countries were: Republic of Asia, African Province, United Fronts, Frosted Lands, European Union, Australian State. Each had 3 or 4 cities divided between them. All concentrated near the centers of the landmasses. As if, the civilization had become concentrated instead of expanding. But there was one city. One city stood alone, separated from the others, within no countries. One city as large as the countries themselves, differentiated only by the Interface's way of marking them. The City of Tranquill.
"I have no idea what this map is, it seems familiar, but not something I truly remember. This is similar to how holding a sword feels to me, familiar yet distant. But this map seems to be from another world, maybe from the world I came from. I can't really tell." I told the others.
"Hmmm, no need to divulge in what we can't understand. So now that this is done, let's go get you registered as our Novice member. You will have to show your abilities regarding your Resonators. And we will have to take your responsibility until you become a true Protector."
So, we left the training rooms, and made our way to the protector guilds administrative ward. There I was made to fill out details regarding myself and what I will do, which was done with the help of Max, since there were holes in my knowledge. Then I had to show Both Void Step and Slowdown. And the rection of the person observing them was.... weird. He was startled by my Void Step, because apparently skills like teleportation were rare. But he was both amazed and scared of Slowdown.
My Time Resonator was recorded as Freeze instead of Time, because it had similar abilities to slow their targets through freezing cold. And Max gestured at me to keep my resonator a secret. And so now I had Dark and Freeze on paper.
Finally we left the building. I was given a badge with Protector Guild's sigil, which would show my location to the guild. I didn't think of it as much.
"So... Let's go Goblin hunting!!" Cleo announced.
"Cleo, we need to tell him the details first." Max chuckled, "So Jay, Goblin Hunting is our quest. A goblin nest was found in the forest. People claim they number in hundreds. And our task? Hunt them all. While it sounds overwhelming, note that this area is a sparse zone. So the goblins are all iron or bronze. We can fight them. All you will have to do is fight the iron ones. As many as you can. The rest we will handle. And Jay, let me make myself clear. Do not fight any Bronze ones. They are weak for us, but will overwhelm you instantly. No matter the skills and talents you have."
"I understand Max. Thanks for the details. And I promise, I will not do anything irrational." I replied honestly.
"Noww!!! Let the hunt begin!!" Cleo announced the second time.
Laughing at her straight-forwardness, we left the city, and wandered into the forest. For the journey to the Goblin Nest.
And thus began my adventure on the land of Kronos.
*Author's Note"
