Chapter 18 - A Small Shock for Luo Feng, and His Gratitude!

Night Rain carried a few hundred pounds of Black-Crowned Golden Eagle thigh meat from his warehouse, intending to give it to Luo Feng as a housewarming gift.

Then, he brought the four women with him to Luo Feng's home.

Luo Feng didn't have many relatives—just an aunt and cousin, Tang Yongqing, who lived in the capital base city.

Other than Night Rain's group, the only other guest was Luo Feng's good buddy Wei Wen, who had also become a martial artist and joined the military.

Luo Feng didn't know Tang Xiang or Fu Junyu, so Night Rain introduced the two women to him.

Looking at the four beautiful women surrounding Night Rain—each unique in her charm and all peerless beauties—even Luo Feng couldn't help but feel envious.

Well, Luo Feng was still a young man. Which girl doesn't yearn for love? Which boy doesn't long for romance?

He, too, wanted to fall in love.

In the past, life had been hard, so love wasn't even an option. But now? Now he could at least dream about it.

Upon arriving at Luo Feng's house, Night Rain didn't plan on cooking himself. He handed the task to Tang Xiang and Fu Junyu.

Even if he gave the meat to Luo Feng's mother, she wouldn't know how to handle it—the flesh of the Black-Crowned Golden Eagle was tougher than steel.

Night Rain had once gone to great lengths to figure out how to make it tender and delicious.

"Brother Night, what kind of meat is this?"

At the dinner table, Luo Feng's family and Wei Wen stared wide-eyed at Night Rain and the others.

The moment they ate the meat, a warm sensation spread throughout their bodies.

A strange energy exploded in their stomachs and flowed through their veins, transforming their bodies and making them stronger.

Even Luo Feng's parents and his younger brother, Luo Hua, felt a surge of power.

"Black-Crowned Golden Eagle meat," Night Rain said.

"What? Black-Crowned Golden Eagle?"

Everyone gasped again, turning to Night Rain for answers.

Perhaps Luo Feng's parents didn't know what kind of beast it was, but Luo Feng, Wei Wen, and Luo Hua definitely did.

"That's right," Night Rain said with a smile. "This is from the eagle that invaded the base city a few days ago. It's been specially treated—eating it won't harm you. In fact, it's incredibly beneficial."

Night Rain smiled secretly. There weren't many chances to act impressive in front of Luo Feng, who would become a future city lord. This was one of his rare guilty pleasures.

Luo Feng, Wei Wen, and Luo Hua were all deeply shocked.

The Black-Crowned Golden Eagle was a high-level lord-class beast.

They had witnessed its devastating power up close during its attack on the city. That oppressive presence was unforgettable.

Now it had become food on their plates.

Even more impressive, Night Rain had a way to process monster meat into a powerful cultivation resource.

This...

This made them reevaluate everything they thought they knew about Night Rain's background.

"Luo Feng, Wei Wen, eat as much as you like," Night Rain said. "Spend tonight refining the energy—it should boost your strength significantly."

"As for the leftovers, Luo Feng, you can keep them to eat slowly."

"Brother Night, thank you!" Luo Feng said earnestly.

Especially his parents—after eating the meat, their white hair began to darken and their skin looked younger.

Even their hunched backs, worn down by years of hardship, straightened up.

How could Luo Feng not be moved by this?

"We're all brothers—no need for thanks," Night Rain said.

"Yeah." Luo Feng nodded firmly, saying nothing more, but he engraved the gesture deep in his heart.

Then, everyone began devouring the meal with gusto.

The dinner ended with everyone full and satisfied.

After the meal, Night Rain and his group left Luo Feng's house. Xu Xin and Liu Ting each returned to their own homes.

They couldn't keep staying at Night Rain's place, even if their families knew about their relationships with him.

Liu Ting's family, for instance, wasn't very powerful—her strongest relative was a newly promoted low-tier war god.

In Yangzhou, her grandfather was considered somewhat important, but in the entire Jiangnan Base City, he didn't count for much.

They didn't know the full extent of Night Rain's background, but they knew enough: he had two war gods acting as personal bodyguards.

Clearly, Night Rain was someone extraordinary.

So Liu Ting's family was more than happy for her to be with Night Rain.

Xu Xin's family, on the other hand, hadn't objected, but they weren't ready to push their daughter forward either.

So, Xu Xin had already reached the limit of how long she could stay away from home—two days without returning was enough to stretch her family's patience.

Back at Luo Feng's house:

"Xiao Feng," his parents said excitedly after Night Rain's group left. "When you're capable in the future, you must thank Xiao Ye properly."

"Don't worry, Dad, Mom," Luo Feng replied seriously as he stored the leftover meat in the freezer. "You don't have to say anything—I'll definitely repay Brother Night."

He was truly grateful.

Not only had Night Rain helped his parents regain their youth—perhaps even making them healthier than before—

but the remaining eagle meat, even after giving some to Wei Wen, was enough for Luo Feng to break through to the War General level in a short time.

His spiritual force could even reach high-level War General strength, giving him a much better chance at survival while hunting beasts.

---

Nightfall.

Fully recovered, Night Rain wrapped his arms around Fu Junyu's slender waist and lifted her effortlessly into a bridal carry.

He strode toward the upstairs bedroom.

Fu Junyu smiled sweetly and wrapped her arms around his neck.

"What? Trying to sneak away?"

On the other side, Tang Xiang tried to slip away quietly, but Night Rain reached out and grabbed her.

Tang Xiang gave a helpless sigh.

Blushing, she followed him into the bedroom, knowing full well what was about to happen.

As they walked, Night Rain helped the two women out of their clothes, drawing gasps of surprise from them.

Once in the room, he tossed them both onto the large bed, lying between them and gently stroking their smooth, delicate backs.

He didn't go any further, choosing instead to just hold them quietly.

After all, it was their first time. Night Rain figured it was best to be gentle.

There would be time later, once they were more comfortable and familiar with each other, to try more adventurous things.

The two women gazed at him silently. Their initial tension gradually faded.

Even though they often acted bold and experienced, in truth, they had only theory—not practice.

Feeling Night Rain's strong arms and the powerful aura he exuded, both women felt safe and reassured.

In this world, martial artists held great status—but that status came at the cost of their lives, earned through blood and battle.
