Chapter 29 - Weinina's Disbelief, Li Yao's Plot!

Jiangnan Base City, Northern Military District.

Luo Feng, carrying a shield and holding his Blood Shadow Battle Blade, stood alongside the Fire Hammer Squad members, watching the news broadcast on the large screen in the hall, somewhat lost in thought.

"Surpass a War God? I'll definitely reach that level one day."

This was his first mission, and he was full of confidence for the future.

He had already finished eating the Black-Crowned Golden Eagle meat gifted by Night Rain, which had directly boosted his physical strength to the level of a junior-level War General.

His spiritual force had also reached high-level War General status—he could now control four flying knives.

Within the Fire Hammer Squad, even the captain, Gao Feng, a high-level War General, was no match for him.

Unlike in the original story where he was naive and confused, with Night Rain now as his friend, Luo Feng had a clear understanding of both warriors and spiritual masters.

He had also received a promise from Zhou Zhengyong, the president of the Extreme Martial Arts Dojo: as long as Luo Feng performed well over the next six months...

Or, if he could break through to mid-level War General within that time...

After this year's New Year, he would be sent to the War God Training Camp in Hongning Base City.

He would receive top-level training there.

"I heard the newly appointed Representative Jiang is actually an instructor at the War God Training Camp. I didn't expect their instructors to be this strong."

Luo Feng's eyes gleamed with even more anticipation.

Breaking through to mid-level War General in half a year? He was certain he could do it—no, he would do it. Luo Feng silently vowed in his heart.

HR Alliance, Jiangnan Base City Headquarters.

Weinina Polenas's soft golden hair draped over her shoulders.

She swirled a glass of red wine in her hand. Dressed in a stylish office suit and pencil skirt that hugged her curves, her fiery red lips, ample chest, narrow waist, round hips, and long legs revealed a large amount of fair skin.

Everything about her screamed that she was a stunningly seductive and irresistible mature woman.

She stared blankly at the news broadcast on the television, confusion flickering in her eyes.

"How is this possible? How did they break through?"

Of course, she knew Tang Qin and Jiang Fang.

Even if she hadn't before, with their rising fame, she had become aware of them.

They had once been fellow students at the War God Training Camp, though she had graduated four years earlier and had paid little attention to them.

Moreover!

Their talents had never been among the top even back then—just above average.

There had only been one time during a life-or-death group mission when it was said the two women picked up a young child from the wilderness and raised him.

Many people were curious and went to see this child. She had too.

Though the child was cute and doll-like, he was weak and sickly—likely to die at any moment—so she had paid him little attention afterward.

Later, as they lived in the same Jiangnan Waterfront District and shared the same alumni status, they interacted a few times.

Eventually…

Tang Qin went to Kyoto Base City, while Jiang Fang remained at the War God Training Camp. Their relationship gradually faded.

She never imagined that those two women—once less talented than herself—would surpass her.

Now she was still stuck at the peak of high-level War God, unable to progress, while watching others overtake her.

It made her deeply frustrated.

Knock knock~

Just as Weinina was stewing in anger, a knock sounded, and a curvy female secretary walked in.

"What is it?" Weinina asked impatiently.

"President, Mr. Li Yao is here," the secretary said nervously.

Since the divorce more than ten years ago, her boss and Li Yao had never gotten along. Her boss hated seeing Li Yao.

She knew she was about to get chewed out.

Whenever Li Yao came, trouble followed. But she didn't dare not report it.

After all, Li Yao was one of the world's few publicly acknowledged invincible War Gods.

"Tell him to get lost!" Weinina snapped.

"Weinina, stop being so stubborn. I have something important to discuss with you!" Without waiting for the secretary to leave, a tall man with a cold and sinister face walked in.

It was none other than Li Yao!

"Li Yao, if you don't give me a good explanation today, don't blame me for being rude," Weinina said coldly, her beautiful face filled with anger.

"Weinina, what happened back then was just a misunderstanding. Why won't you let me explain?"

Li Yao tried to soften his tone.

He didn't want to argue with Weinina now—he had more important matters to discuss.

"Heh, a misunderstanding?" Weinina sneered.

"Do you think I'm stupid? And even if it really was a misunderstanding back then—what about our son?"

"What do you have to say about our son? Where have you hidden Wei'er all these years? You haven't even let me see him once!"

Li Yao fell silent for a moment before saying:

"I've made arrangements for Wei'er. But let's not talk about that now. I came to discuss something else. If we succeed, I'll let Wei'er come see you."

"Oh? What is it? Tell me," Weinina said.

She didn't believe a word Li Yao said. After so many years, she knew what kind of person he was.

Letting their son come see her? Li Yao was obviously afraid she'd try to take custody by force.

That's exactly why he had kept Li Wei hidden so carefully.

"Don't you think their power progression is a bit… unnatural?" Li Yao said, motioning toward the news on the TV.

Weinina remained silent, waiting for him to continue.

"I investigated them. Five years ago, their growth was still normal—they were only mid-level War Gods."

"At the time, they were a full tier below both you and me."

"Everyone knows that the further you progress, the harder each improvement becomes. You and I have been stuck at the same level for five or six years."

"But starting five years ago, their strength skyrocketed. In just four years, they caught up with us."

"And now, they've broken through to Planetary level, surpassing us. They must be hiding a huge secret."

"So what?" Weinina sneered. "Don't tell me you're planning to go after them."

"Li Yao, are you out of your mind?"

"Not only are they now Planetary-level warriors, they also have the full support of China and the Extreme Martial Arts Dojo."

"If you mess with them, even as an invincible War God, not even that old Yan you have behind you could save you."

At this, Weinina gritted her teeth.

As a direct descendant of the Polenas family and the younger sister of the current family head, she had expected support when she broke things off with Li Yao.

But because of the powerful Elder Yan backing Li Yao, the family clearly favored him—just like with their son, Li Wei.

It filled her with resentment.

"Don't you want to break through?"

Li Yao's voice was laced with temptation. "If you ascend, even your brother will have to listen to you."

Weinina frowned.

Planetary level—if she reached that level, the family would worship her.

Not just her brother, even the old geezers in the family would have to bow to her authority.

"There's another secret," Li Yao added. "I think you'll definitely be interested…"
