Chapter 14 - Chapter 14 - Badheil

Boom!

The earth quaked as the dragon crashed, dark-gold blood splattering. Two drops landed in Truman's hands.

"Hmph!" Medici glanced at Truman. He had teleported atop the dragon's head, slaying it with a single sword stroke.

The dragon's dream-wounds were real, inflicted by Medici in reality.

Buzz! A shadowy veil surged around Medici, as if seawater poured forth, scrambling fate and concealing all.

This resembled the Sefirah Castle paper angel from Truman's memory—a Sun God's protection.

Thus, the Mind Dragon was utterly dead.

The Sea of Chaos's aura was a lethal pollutant to the Dragon of Imagination. No resurrection tricks could withstand it.

A Sequence 2 Weather Warlock of the Hunter pathway, bolstered by a legion, plus an overpowered Dream Angel and the Sea of Chaos's taint—the Mind Dragon's death was no injustice.

Such was this era: ancient gods ravaged land, sky, sea, and spirit world. Even angels' lives hung by a thread, snuffed out in an instant.

"Pleasant cooperation." Truman chuckled, smearing the blood on his Sage Robe. Data streams surged, decoding its extraordinary abilities.

"Your assist wasn't bad—take a share!" A legion member approached with a magical item, hastening characteristic extraction.

Medici tossed Truman a characteristic: Reader pathway, Sequence 3, "Cignizer."

"Another Sequence 2 characteristic goes back to Sasrir," Medici grumbled but explained.

"Got it!" Truman nodded, satisfied. Medici's lethality was immense, yielding gains in mere moments.

The Sequence 3 characteristic was secondary; he'd decoded most of the dragon's abilities, recording key ones.

"This dream power…" Truman excelled at dream abilities, replicating them flawlessly, even fooling the Mind Dragon.

"It pairs with the Book of Dreams, perhaps surpassing the original. The Darkness pathway also holds dream authority…"

He opened the Book of Dreams, his Divine Badge twinkling with starlight. An ability named "Phantom Dream" was etched into the book.

"Who dares invade my Golden Kingdom!" A deafening roar shook the sky.

A giant appeared, clad in silver armor, radiating light, his eyes a condensed dawn glow.

"It's Badheil, God of Dawn!" Medici and his legion readied for battle. "Kill him, and the Giant King will lose his mind!"

Medici's eyes blazed with fervor, his battle lust burning.

"Forget it. He's the Giant King's son, not that mad dragon. The Giant King's gaze could fall any moment!" Truman's words doused Medici's fire.

This was the Golden Kingdom, under the Giant King's rule. Killing Badheil here would draw Aurmir, and even the Sea of Chaos's favor couldn't save Medici.

It might spark a premature divine war between the Ancient Sun God and the Giant King.

"Then he lives!" Medici's proud head never bowed. He prepared to withdraw, avoiding direct clash with the God of Dawn.

"Not leaving? Courting death?" Medici eyed Truman, meaning to save his temporary ally but with his usual smug tone.

"I came for him. Why leave?" Truman shot Medici a look, gazing at the distant twilight giant.

Badheil's warrior instincts sensed the hidden angels, observing cautiously.

Medici waved, manipulating the weather. Thick fog rose, dulling enemy perception.

"Warrior pathway, Sequence 2 Glory, strongest in direct combat?" Truman's eyes narrowed, recalling the Warrior pathway's battle-proven dominance.

"Him? Strongest? Without asking me?" Medici scoffed. A war angel with a legion was the true peak!

"Then fight him," Truman goaded, glancing at Medici.

"You think I'm dumb?" Medici glared at Truman, his look reserved for Leodero. For a moment, Truman wanted to slap him.

That mockery was maxed out.

"Ahem!" Truman refocused on Badheil. Just then, the giant in the fog locked onto their position!

"Warrior's instinct…" Its combat sense was terrifying, defying reason.

As the giant spotted them, an orange-red twilight greatsword pierced the void. Badheil leaped before Truman and Medici!

Clang!

The War Angel charged, wielding a greatsword, growing to three or four meters, skin steeling into an iron giant.

Their swords clashed, sparks and flames erupting, orange-red twilight light spreading.

"Your art style's all wrong!" Truman quipped, watching two giants duel with swords, absurd in this eerie, mad world.

He flipped to a page in the Book of Dreams, the "Phantom Dream" symbol glowing, an invisible force spreading.

The Elder Glove glimmered, the Sage Robe flashing phosphorescence. Truman seemed to embody the Mind Dragon, roaring a psychic breath!

An angel-level attack!

Simultaneously, he hurled "Frenzy," "Mind Deprivation," and "Psychic Storm" at Badheil, all drawn from the Mind Dragon.

The dragon's angelic blood let him decode abilities, controlled via the Sage's data manipulation, with the Traveler's "reproduction" amplifying them.

"Ugh… ah…" Badheil's body stiffened, his psyche rattled.

"Begone!" Badheil roared, orange-red twilight light exploding, decaying all it touched. Even Medici grew solemn, dodging direct hits.

"Die!" Badheil leaped before Truman, his towering height oppressive, his greatsword slashing down.

It seemed the odd angel would be cleaved in two.

Medici moved to aid, but Truman refused. This time, he'd make Badheil see his weakness!
