Harry sat stiffly in the passenger seat of the sleek black car as it pulled into a quiet, upper-middle-class neighborhood. His fingers fiddled with the hem of his hoodie, nerves bubbling in his stomach.
Tony immediately got the private jet prepared, He believe it's better to clear the misunderstanding then face it later besides Tony cannot stand the sad puppy gaze his baby brother makes. He's too adorable.
Tony, in the driver's seat—sunglasses on, looking like he'd just walked off a magazine cover—threw a glance at him. "Relax, kid. Not like we're storming a dungeon hideout. It's just a family visit."
"It's Hermione's family."
Tony raised a brow. "Yeah, and from what I hear from you, she's the 'always prepared' type. So I doubt she'll be upset you didn't write. Especially when you didn't get her letters either."
Harry frowned. Tony continued gently. "Remember, they were on vacation. It's possible Hermione just couldn't send anything. If she did, we'll sort it out. Either way, we clear the air. And then we figure out who's been playing mailman and losing packages." Tony did most of the search on the family with Jarvis help and track them down. He decided to take Harry there instead calling Grangers over.
Besides he can tell some pesky people poking in.
Finally, they reached and parked the car.
The Granger household was modest but welcoming, with a neat garden and warm lighting through the curtains. Getting out of the car, Tony led the way, knocking on the door like it was just another business meeting.
A few seconds later, the door opened—and Mrs. Granger nearly dropped her mug upon seeing who's at the door. "You're… you're Tony Stark."
"Honey? Who's at the door?" It was Mr. Granger voice.
Tony grins. "Guilty. And you must be the brilliant woman who raised Hermione."
Mr. Granger behind her, stunned. "Is this… a joke?"
Tony amused made an gesturing to Harry. "Nope. Brought a mutual friend. Hope that earns me tea."
From behind them, a gasp. "Harry?!"
She darted past her parents and nearly tackled Harry in a hug. He hugged her back, suddenly overwhelmed with relief. Her voice was trembling. "Oh thank Merlin, you're okay—I've been so worried! I wrote—so many times—I thought maybe the Dursleys—"
"I didn't get any of them…"
Hermione pulled back, confused and worried. "But I sent them. All summer. Even from vacation. Mum helped me find owl services in Italy—"
Tony placed a hand on Harry's shoulder. "The truth is, Harry's not living with the Dursleys anymore. And from the looks of things, someone made sure your letters didn't get to him."
Hermione's fists clenched. "They blocked my letters?"
"Sadly no" Harry shake his head. "It wasn't them. It's... Hard to explain even I am confused...But Tony's looking into it."
Tony looks at Hermione's parents. "I thought it was time you all had a chat. And Harry needed to know who was truly writing to him. And of course to calm him down and tell his friends what's up"
Mrs. Granger nodded, ushering them inside."Tea, definitely. And maybe something stronger for the grown-ups." She had a feeling something is gonna happen, to have a celebrity at your door step with a magical child of their daughter's friend. On top of that, if she remembers, his name is Harry potter.
Hermione told them about the child way too many times to count, and he's her best friend. Along with another child name Ron Weasley. The relief that came over the couple, their daughter at least have friends.
Hermione glanced at Harry, then at Tony, still trying to connect the dots. "But… how do you know Mr. Stark?"
"It's… a long story. But he's… kind of taken me in."
Hermione's mouth opened, then closed again. She looked at Tony, then at Harry, and slowly nodded. "Okay. Long story after tea then."
Tony gave her a thumbs up. "Smart girl." Then he pat Harry's back. "I approve!"
Harry blink.
Later, The living room was cozy. Tea cups clinked gently as everyone settled in. Hermione sat beside Harry, practically vibrating with unspoken questions. Her parents sat across from them, still trying to make sense of the man casually leaning back in their armchair: Tony Stark.
Hermione asked him after Tony basically revealed he's Harry's half brother. "Okay… you have to explain. How are you half-brothers?"
Harry looked at Tony, who nodded for him to go ahead. Harry shrugged slightly. "Turns out my dad couldn't afford me" Tony choke on the tea he took a sip from and coughs making Harry grin much to the amusement of the couple and Hermione expression. "From what I know, Tony's father... Who's my half father is donor... My dad couldn't have any children... You can basically understand the rest of it"
"That's… wow... But you look so much like your dad...?" Harry had shown her the photo album that Hagrid gifted him before he left from Hogwarts at the train.
Harry nod. "Blood magic..."
Hermione nod. "Makes sense"
Tony grins. "Yeah, that's how I felt too. Surprise family bonus level: wizard kid with a scar and baggage."
Mrs. Granger whose name is Jean ask "And you just… took him in?"
Tony understanding what she is asking says "Wasn't really a choice. Once I saw the condition he was in, keeping him safe just became the only option. And I wasn't gonna left him alone. No matter what"
Hermione gave Harry a long, assessing look—guilt and relief tangled on her face. "Ron's been worried sick. He was even talking about getting his brothers to break you out of the Dursleys somehow. He's going to lose it when he hears all of this."
Harry eyes widen. "He really was trying?"
Hermione nodding quickly. "Absolutely. We both thought something was wrong, especially after my last letters didn't get any replies. I'll write to him right away. Explain everything."
Harry smiled faintly, comforted. Tony, watching quietly, finally spoke. "You've got loyal friends. That Weasley kid's got guts."
Hermione smile. "More than he admits."
Mr Granger known as Jose is still baffled. "This is a lot to process… letters being blocked, half-brothers… I am amazed how news hasn't blow up"
Tony smirk. "Yeah, and I haven't even told you about the AI that runs our house. And as for Press? They are trying but they won't get nothing"
Hermione's mouth twitched in a grin, and Harry chuckled for the first time that evening.
"Hey Hermione, Wanna speak with Jarvis?"
"You mean his Ai butler?! Is he here?"
Harry grin, shows her his gadget on his wrist that Tony made for him. "Jarvis, say hello to my friend Hermione"
"Greetings, Young Miss. My name is Jarvis"
Hermione squeals. "Oh my gosh! This is so amazing!! The tech looks like something from sci-fi! Oh! Mister Stark! Mister stark! Can you tell me more about your Ai? How did you make him? And what is this gadget about? Is it new smart watch? How long distance is it? Is it connect to WiFi? Satellite??"
After a minute of silence, Tony points at her while looking at her parents. "She is officially my goddaughter, no takes back"
Jean and Jose didn't know what to say after that comment.
