Chapter 6 - A Late Package & A Quest for Trouble

Yu Xuan sat under the shade of a spirit tree, lazily poking at the koi fish pond with a stick.

Technically, he was 'meditating.' In reality, he was trying to bribe his System to do something interesting.

Nothing had changed since the day he was reincarnated.

Same interface.

Same stats.

Same mysterious tabs that did absolutely nothing.

Until now.

[Ding! Newbie Pack Received!!!!]

"What?!" Yu Xuan blurted out loud.

The koi fish stared at him — their golden eyes filled with judgment, as if asking: Bro, you good?

Yu Xuan rubbed his temple. "This lag is criminal. I want compensation, interest, and emotional support."

Still, a gift was a gift.

He mentally clicked the prompt.

==================

[Newbie Pack Rewards Received:]

1 Cultivation Technique

1 Martial Technique

1 Skill

100 SP (Shop Points)

1 Quest Unlocked

==================

He immediately opened his profile — and froze.

[Cultivation Technique]: ???(Locked till coming of Age)

[Martial Technique]: ???(Locked till coming of Age)

Looking remarks he said "Are you kidding me?! Locked? I thought this was a reward, not a teaser trailer."

Grumbling, he flipped over to the [Skills] tab and found something new at last.

[Skill]: Telekinesis - Allows the user to move objects with their mind. Mental energy is consumed accordingly

"Well, late… but at least I got something," Yu Xuan muttered. "Finally, I won't have to wait another five years to feel special. But I never had the mental energy attribute. Well... I will take a look later."

Then he navigated to the [System Shop], eyes gleaming.

==================

He instantly clicked on [Magic Arts], eager for something grand and mysterious.

There was exactly one option.

==================

[Magic Arts]

[Magic Swordsmanship of the Avalon Imperial Family] – 100 SP

"All remaining systems will bow to the Avalon Empire." — Luthor Von Avalon VII

==================

Yu Xuan stared at the screen, lips twitching.

"This is either the coolest thing I've ever seen… or a scam written by a theater major with a lightsaber obsession."

Still, it was his only choice. And let's be honest — the name sounded cool.

He purchased the art.

==================

[Magic Swordsmanship of the Avalon Imperial Family] A prestigious and absurdly overdramatic magic sword style passed down through the ancient Avalon Empire — a civilization so arrogant they named every planet after themselves. This technique combines refined swordsmanship with magical force projection, enabling the wielder to launch elegant, glowing sword arcs, deflect spells, and dramatically pose on high ground.

Originally designed for imperial heirs who wore capes for no reason and practiced speeches about galactic domination in front of mirrors. Has a 70% chance of making the user look cooler than they actually are, and a 100% chance of making nearby systems feel slightly nervous.

==================

Yu Xuan stared up at the sky, deadpan.

"Please don't smite me with a cosmic laser. I didn't name it."

Then, still riding the high of his space-opera swordsmanship purchase, he checked the [Quest] tab.

==================

[First Quest Unlocked]

Reincarnators and transmigrators are unique beings. They usually show signs of weirdness by age one. You, however, are five… and have done nothing.

You are a disgrace to this culture.

Objective: Have an adventure.

Reward: Depends on performance.

==================

Yu Xuan narrowed his eyes. "Okay… fair. But still rude."

Just as he mentally closed the screen, he sensed footsteps.

Without turning around, Yu Xuan let out a dramatic sigh. "Elder sister, your stealth is improving... but you still breathe too loud."

A familiar, slightly offended voice shot back, "I just came running here, okay? And look! My new sword!"

Yu Lingluo, now eight years old, marched out from behind the tree with pride practically glowing off her. Her silver hair had grown longer, flowing to her waist with vivid violet streaks threading through like streaks of lightning in a moonlit sky. She looked… well, like the very picture of adorable chaos wrapped in an aura of budding elegance.

And in her hands was a sword.

It wasn't a toy anymore.

The blade shimmered faintly — white-silver steel with a faint purple sheen along the edges, the kind of weapon that screamed 'refined young genius' but also whispered 'may accidentally chop down a tree in excitement.'

"Nice sword," Yu Xuan said with a raised brow.

She beamed. "Of course it is! Father gave it to me. He said I was ready for a real one."

She swung it once, then held it up with the flair of a heroine in a storybook. "It even hums when I swing it!"

"It also nearly took my eyebrows off."

"You'll live."

He smiled, then rubbed his chin like a scheming scholar.

'Why not take her with me on the quest?'

He immediately straightened up, eyes sparkling. Then, with the best puppy-eyed expression he could manage, said, "Sister is so cool. And powerful. Like a goddess descended to the mortal world."

Yu Lingluo blinked. Then smirked. "Mmmhm. Keep going."

"And smart! Did I mention smart? Definitely the coolest cultivator I know. No one else even comes close."

"Yes, yes, you may worship me. What do you want?"

He clasped his hands together. "Sister, let's go on an adventure!"

Her eyes lit up. "Adventure?"

"Yes!" Yu Xuan nodded with fake innocence. "Just a small one. To the back mountain. There's a forest. A stream. A waterfall. Some peach trees. Maybe some frogs. You know. The usual."

"Do we fight something?"

"...Probably not?"

"Can I teach you sword moves along the way?"

"Absolutely."

Yu Lingluo punched the air. "Yes! Let's go! Xuan'er, your big sister will show you how to slay beasts with real elegance!"

And just like that, the two set off down the path toward the back mountain — one eager to complete his first quest, the other excited for an excuse to wave her new sword.

What could possibly go wrong?

Probably everything. But that was not their problem.
