Chapter 5 - The Woman of Crimson Hair

That night was chaos,

Kuro's mind at loss.

In that raining - rumbling night,

The silent underground finally witnessed a noicy might.

But,

Before the present is presented,

A past needs to be lamented.

One week ago.

In a buzzling shopping street.

People are selling and buying products - shopkeepers shouting at customers, customers and salesmen in verbal argumentation also known as bargaining,

Laughter of running children and gloomy small alleys -- innit people surrounded by all this, yet had none of it. Stray cats and humans alike sneaking around and leaping for a steal for today's meal.

Young Kuro -- already in his darken haired guise -- is walking down the only shopping street in the village hoping to find something to eat...

The past three weeks, he's been taking small chores of random shopkeepers in exchange for one day's meal.

Some kids in alleyway saw his way of doing things and had started doing that instead of their struggle of stealing.

The 10 year old boy is witnessing the world that he will supposedly change.

Although without him noticing, he had already changed something.

He stops at a flower shop and helps the old lady with her small chores --

"Thank you son, here you go, this is your pay" the old lady says as she hands over to him two packed ricecake and a chicken broathed - spice and tomato sauce.

/After a good hustle the food just tastes better/

He thinks to himself, as he walks and eats - his instincts all of a sudden calls him towards a peculiar alleyway. Unlike most alleys this one was vibrant not dark with colors painted everywhere.

*clank* *shling*

The sudden sound of two blades meeting spooked Kuro as he reached a circle that connected all the alleyways,

As he sneakily closed in - hiding behind a pillar, he saw a gang of guys picking on one woman--or so he thought, the big fat men trying to attack her were being overwhelmed by her strength.

Two of them used a long stick with a blade on its tip, two others a knife and the biggest of them an Axe that had clashed before-

The Cowardly men, all charged at her once with no proper fighting plan - underestimating her

She swinged a heavy sword double her size onto them and hit then like a cricket bat would hit the ball -- the men were literally off the ground flying. Then she weaves some signs and a red glow appears where she stands - it was a writting of some sort, maybe some sort of seal?

The light charged towards the men and they were immobilised as if on shackles. And then all of a sudden, they started screaming in pain as the pattern of an iron chain that appeared on their body started to strangle their body on the Woman's command.

"If you dare again to set foot into this market for your petty schemes, you'll not go back alive next time. For now go back and tell your boss Kaana that I'll settle the score for this in the battle."

The woman announced to the giant men now on the ground utterly defeated.

Young Kuro admiring her strength from afar - completely let his guard down.

*Grip*

A man grabs him from behind.

"Don't move woman, if you don't want this kid to die", said the man grappling Kuro.

*hmph* *hmph*

Kuro gasping for air and panicking was thinking more about how he has become an inconvenience for the woman.

Kuro felt a sense of anger on himself,

Because of him, she's in trouble.

It's already been 3 weeks since he got out of the slum -this market was the only safe place for a kid like him- he was lucky that the slums connected the market without any other Land interfering, but now because of him the leader of the land is in danger.

But was she really in danger?

The woman weaves some signs and her red hair starts to glow laseristically straight into his eyes- the man now blinded let's go off Kuro -screaming in pain, realising that it wasn't some smokescreen cheap trick but had burnt his eyes to ashes.

The woman grabs Kuro and jumps on to the top of the nearby building and drops him there.

"Stay there kid", she said as she jumped back down and picked up her sword and did her final bid on the unfortunate men.

"I was letting you go, but now you do not have that leeway... Now you die!"

The great sword burn with red chakra as she swings it a full circle - obliterating everyone in the circle - all of Kaana's men were now fuming and melting.

Young Kuro who was looking down from the up was now puking all over the terrace

Even for a kid from the slums-a death like that was not a common sight.

"Can't handle that, huh kid?"

Says the woman as she climbs over,

"Um.. thank you for saving me ma'am",

said Kuro.

"Name's Rei, Uzumaki Reina, what's your name kid?", said the woman.

"I'm sorry for making trouble", said Kuro who was only worried about his inconvenience.

"That's your name?", asks the woman jokingly.

"N-no ma'am, my name is Kuro", replies the young boy now getting himself together.

"Well Kuro, what is a kid young as you doing in a clean alleyway like that, when kids like you are always busy sneaking around for food in the dark ones?", asked Reina looking at his scraped clothing.

"I felt an urge to walk into this alley, ma'am. It was as if it was calling me towards you", replied Kuro, understanding her question came from a place of doubt.

Although Reina was not asking out of any suspicion - while the reason she was there was to kick out the men who were using kids to loot the market and get money and food on the orders from one of the Warlords named Kaana of the Hidden sand. During the surveillance to find these men - Reina's men told her the story of the young crimson eyed boy who brought peace to market by just being himself and living his own way - when Reina heard of a person who was able to lead by his actions - she wanted to meet him and here we are. A fated encounter that wasn't planned by her or Kuro.

"You have eyes as beautiful as my hair kid", said Reina who was convinced that their encounter was not a mere coincidence but a stepping stone to a new change. "Want to join the brotherhood"...

---

--"Atleast that's what I thought, but turns out I was wrong about you kid", now in the present - Kuro was in a delicate situation where Reina's trust for him was in question - as she suspected him to be a spy of Akatsuki.

"Reina-sama, please believe me, I didn't mean to lie to you about my identity, but it was my mother's last ask to me that I must live with an alibi", said Kuro hoping for her to believe him.

"What is your real name kid?", Getting her emotions together Reina asks Kuro - she wasn't just unhappy about Kuro's hair colour suddenly changing but the fact that her brother was right in front of her but she couldn't do anything was more frustrating and she was taking it out on Kuro, besides realising that there is more to Kuro's story had finally kept her in check - curious to find answers to her questions -

/Why did her brother approach him?

Who is this kid with such peculiar traits?

Why did his mother advise him to conceal himself before her passing?/

--"Ame- Henjin Ameyami"

--"You are Sara-sensei's son!?!!", said Rei as she jumped towards Kuro gripping his shoulders tightly,

As soon as Kuro mentioned his clan name, Rei's eyes had widened, realising that Kuro's mother was none other than the legendary kunoichi with the silver hair,

The woman who revolted and won against the Warlords and conquered the lands they currently stand in - They called her the Silver Moon - but more importantly this woman was both Reina's and Kai's teacher - 5 years ago, she went missing and now 5 years forward, Reina was looking at her son - the silver haired crimson eyed boy

Henjin Ameyami the son of Henjin Garo and Henjin Sara and the only successor of Henjin clan and also of the land that is under her guardianship for the past 5 years.

"H-How do you know my mother!?", surprised, asked Ame.

The young boy who only saw his mother live an average mother's life didn't know her grand past.

"Your Mother was called The Silver Moon, she was one of the greatest ninja in the History of Rain who won this land for us- she was also my teacher", said Reina proudly.

"I-I didn't know... Didn't know that my mother was that powerful", Many of his questions were answered upon the realisation Ame had from this new information

The reason he needs a guise, the reason Kai calls him the child of destiny, the reason why he had an urge to meet with Rei and how Kai knew his mother,

And that gave him a sense of relief and he was safe from suspicions now that Rei also understood the situation to an extent.

After a few moments of silence as both of them were reminiscing through everything, Rei finally spoke up-

"We have a battle to win tomorrow ---tomorrow we take over the Thunder Fort, get rest kid", said Rei gesturing that it was time to move on, "O and don't worry about the whole commosion getting out, I'll cover it up, get some rest", she added

"Yes, Rei-sama, no - Rei-sensei!", Ame said, indicating her to be his teacher as his mother was her's

Rei smiled as she left the messed up room hoping to see a future of change
