Chapter 6 - CHAPTER 6:ONE CHANCE

Immediately after stabbing her, the curse deactivates. Klaus, Auren, and Traven are left speechless as Deborah falls to the ground.

Theo holds her in her dying breath and tries to heal her, but it's to no avail. The king, confused, orders the guards to seize Theo.

However, Theo is not willing to back down easily. He fights the guards. Auren,Traven, and Klaus join in. Theo leaps into the air and flies away, carrying Deborah. The others follow.

They fly to Theo's house, and together they begin healing Deborah. Theo cries and begs not to lose her. They continue trying to heal her, but it's all in vain—the curse has poisoned her blood.

Meanwhile, Deborah's consciousness enters a void, where she is held by black chains emitting a dark aura.

Deborah dies there. Theo cries. His heart feels heavy. He finds no one to blame but himself, as he shouts, "Nooooo!"*

Soon, the king's guards surround the house alongside several cultivators. They fight, but Deborah's death has a depressing effect on everyone. They are all pinned to the ground, and Theo say, "It's all my fault. I messed it up again."Theo's eyes turn fiery red, and Phoenix feathers appear, releasing a powerful burst that sends the soldiers and cultivators flying. This action also reveals his identity as the Soul Killer.

Theo, exhausted, faints.

A few hours later, he wakes up in prison alongside Auren, Traven, and Klaus. He begins to cry. After some time, they plan their escape. They try to use their powers, but the prison is protected by a power-dampening talisman.

Traven then activates his ability to become invisible.Theo, on the other hand, tells him , "but powers can't be used!"

Traven replies, "This isn't power—it's a technique inherited that doesn't require mana, just breath."

They all begin shouting to attract the guards. Traven holds them and makes them all invisible.*While holding them, Klaus has a vision—Deborah is still alive. He then sees the Leviathan unleashing havoc on Earth. A guard, shocked to find no one in the cell, opens the gate to confirm. Theo and the rest seize the opportunity to escape. They run far.

The invisibility has faded; it has drained him. Their powers, too, are weakened by the Talisman. They dash into a long hallway, only to be surrounded by a large group of soldiers from both sides. As the soldiers charge, a man in bandit clothing—with brown hair and piercing blue eyes—suddenly appears.

He orders, "Theo, Traven, Klaus—hold hands."

He touches them, and in an instant, they teleport away from the palace hallway to a distant forest. Stunned, Theo and his friends thank the man and ask his name—and how he knew them.

"I am Jared, the Time Thief," he says. "I don't have time to explain. But you can save Deborah. I can't tell you how—but think."

And just like that, Jared vanishes.

Klaus shares the revelation from his vision. Theo strains to find a solution, but it seems useless. That night, the crew rests in a cave.

Theo cannot sleep. He steps outside, gazing at the moon, lost in memory—remembering the first time he met Deborah. Then it strikes him: Deborah once gave him a little of her life power after his encounter with the Bull of Chakra.

A spark of hope ignites within him.

The next morning, he shares this with the crew. The only problem—he has no idea how to return life power to someone.

Auren then suggests, "I know a scholar—an old friend. He lives in the south of El Doria."

They disguise themselves in cloaks and make their way through the bustling streets of El Doria.

As they pass, they see a poster of their faces and a write-up saying: A bounty is placed on them. "Anyone who brings them to the palace will be rewarded with 50,000 gold coins and curious jades." They pass by and get to the scholar's shop.

The scholar is about to shout when Auren reveals his face, and the scholar calms. Auren asks, "How can life force be transferred to someone who has the ability of lunar manipulation?"

The scholar replies, "Hmm," and snaps his fingers, asking for money. Theo brings out a sack of copper coins. The scholar answers, "For life to be transferred to a person with lunar manipulation, there are three rules:

1. It must be on the night of the full moon.

2. The life power must be the person's own.

3. It can only be transferred by true love's kiss."

Theo's sense of joy is restored as they leave the shop.

On their way back, Klaus knocks out Auren and Traven as he cuts Theo's hair. He kicks Theo and sends him flying down the valley. Klaus takes an unconscious Traven and Auren to the palace. The guards give him a free pass as Klaus presents two hostages.

He is given an audience by the king. He summons the hostages and says, "Your Majesty, I know you think I am a culprit too, but I knew that Theo would kill the girl. He was more powerful compared to me, so I had to play along—also so I could find these culprits too."

The king is overjoyed with Klaus and asks about Theo. Klaus replies, as he brings out Theo's hair, "I stabbed him in the heart, and he died while fading into thin air."

The alchemist confirms that it is indeed Theo's hair. The king grants him 50,000 gold coins and three peerless jades.

Klaus leaves the palace.

The king Xavier, orders that Auren and Traven be beheaded by dawn the next day.

Klaus heads for Theo's house and finds him there. He approaches Theo as Theo points his sword at him.Klaus presents the Peerless Jade to Theo, which leaves Theo confused. Klaus then explains, "We needed the Peerless Jade because if you give Deborah her life back, the curse will be reactivated again. So, I had to give Auren and Traven to the king. I took a few hairs from your head so I could be rewarded by the king."

"What about Traven and Auren?" Theo asks.

Klaus replies, "They are to be executed tomorrow."

Theo says, "We have to save them."

Klaus responds, "We can save them—and present a living Deborah—so we can all be pardoned."

It is the night of the full moon. Deborah is laid on the growing grasses as Theo kisses her. A greenish-white light appears as the grasses begin to glow. Deborah absorbs energy from the moon. All of Theo's life force leaves him and enters her.

The ritual is complete, and immediately Theo's curse activates. Klaus imbues his magic into the Peerless Jade. He points it toward Theo. A thick black aura is absorbed from Theo into the jade as Theo blacks out.

Theo's consciousness appears in a void. He sees the chains break. He floats back up to the surface, where he sees his father again.

"You have done well," his father says.

Theo wakes up just as Deborah also awakens. They hug each other and kiss. Klaus's eyes begin to fill with tears as he says, "So much love."

The next day, Auren and Traven are to be executed. Traven shares his regrets with Auren as they say their last prayers. The swords are about to slice off their heads—when suddenly they freeze, encased in ice.

Theo and Klaus make a graceful entrance. The king, furious, orders his guards to kill them immediately. But then, Deborah makes a graceful entrance, stunning everyone.

She tells the king that she is not dead, and that Theo and his friends actually saved her life. After much convincing, the king frees Traven and Auren.

Klaus and Theo explain everything to them. That evening, they all celebrate with dinner—complete with wine, dessert, and chicken.
