Chapter 27 - Company Building

Monday.

After returning to Qingmu University from the nuclear power plant, Chen Mo attended a few classes but quickly lost interest.

He ended up skipping the rest and headed to the library to read.

Once there, he ran into Su Qin again.

And helped himself to her snacks.

Very pleasant.

The little girl was still a bit shy, not daring to talk to him—just pouting while glaring at him.

But she seemed to have grown used to his presence.

She didn't mind him sitting next to her anymore.

Chen Mo enjoyed this quiet time. After studying for several hours, he grew tired and decided to head back to his dorm.

Just then, his phone buzzed in his pocket. He took it out and saw it was a call from Tian Tian.

"Hello?"

"You finally answered, you busy man."

The moment he picked up, Tian Tian's slightly exhausted voice came through, tinged with a bit of complaint.

"I'm a student, remember? My main job is to study." Chen Mo chuckled, not mentioning how he had spent the last half-month installing surveillance at the nuclear plant.

"…"

"And I'm your teacher! Being exploited by you, an unscrupulous capitalist." Tian Tian grumbled.

"…"

"That was your choice."

"Alright, enough nonsense. Just tell me what's up," Chen Mo pushed his bangs aside and got straight to the point.

"Ugh, you're no fun at all."

At that moment, Tian Tian was sitting in her office, sipping from a premium thermos cup, lips pouting slightly in a rather cute way.

"Fine!"

"Here's the deal—I've been working my butt off for half a month, but I finally got Black Domain Technology up and running. Tomorrow night at 8 p.m., the Hatsune app will launch and we'll be holding a nationwide press conference. I'm calling to invite you, our mysterious boss, to attend."

"Alright. I'll come in person—and I'll even bring a big gift for you, our company president," Chen Mo said after a brief pause.

Black Domain Technology was his company.

Even though the core base was at the nuclear plant, he still needed a solid money-making arm.

Only by building Black Domain into a military-tech powerhouse step by step could he truly gain the freedom to do anything he wanted.

"Really?"

"I'll be looking forward to it, then," Tian Tian replied, her cheeks flushing slightly, as if her mind had wandered. She may have misunderstood—Chen Mo had meant a gift for the company, not for her personally.

"I'll be there on time."

"After the press conference, we'll host a celebration party. You can meet the whole team," he added. He had yet to formally meet his employees—it was time to break the ice and discuss the company's next steps.

"Deal. Those young people are dying to meet you. When they heard their boss is just a student, they were amazed. Everyone wants to meet you."

"Meeting is fine—just hope they don't get any funny ideas."

Chen Mo laughed and hung up the phone, then returned to his dorm.

Back at the dorm, he played games with his roommates. Since all his major work was done, he could afford some downtime.

Student life really was the best time.

Even though he now had a cheat-like advantage and was living an extraordinary life, he still wanted to enjoy this time. If he didn't, he'd definitely regret it one day.

Youth fades.

But an old man can never become young again.

Time passed quickly. The next day arrived in the blink of an eye.

Chen Mo took a taxi from school to the Black Domain Technology headquarters.

Honestly, although he was the company's true owner, this was the first time he had visited the headquarters.

He only knew that Tian Tian had rented out an entire office building.

Even though the company only had a little over a hundred employees, renting an entire building did seem a bit excessive.

But according to Tian Tian, it was better to go big from the start.

Since they'd eventually need the space anyway, why not lock it in early and keep up the company's image?

Better to do things in one go than in small steps.

Soon, Chen Mo got out of the cab and paid using his phone, finding the process a bit cumbersome.

Once the company starts making real money, he thought, I'm definitely getting myself a nice car.

Looking up, he saw a huge logo and the Black Domain Tech emblem towering over the entrance.

It was around ten meters wide and made quite the bold impression.

Behind it stood a sleek high-rise—nineteen floors tall.

In Haicheng, it was considered mid-range in terms of height, but renting the entire building in such a prime location said a lot about the company's strength.

Most companies could only afford a small office suite.

Black Domain was clearly operating at a different level.

But then again, it had a high starting point—10 billion yuan in seed funding. That was already unicorn territory.

"Hello, welcome to Black Domain Technology. How can we help you today?"

Just as he stepped into the lobby, he spotted a pair of twin receptionists—and realized they were freshmen he had once helped.

Chen Mo blinked in surprise.

Weren't they just first-year students?

The livelier of the two, named He Xiaoxiao, recognized him immediately. Her eyes lit up as she exclaimed, "It's you! Senior Chen Mo?"

"You're here, Xiaoxiao?" Chen Mo asked curiously.

"I'm working part-time here. The company hasn't found a permanent receptionist yet," she replied.

"You're only a freshman and already doing part-time work?"

"Yeah. I heard the boss is also from Qingmu University, and the president is one of our teachers. They pay well, so a lot of students want to work here. We're just following the trend—earning some money while studying."

"I see." Chen Mo nodded. Since both he and Tian Tian were from Qingmu University, it made sense to give their schoolmates a little preferential treatment.

Then Xiaoxiao asked, "So, Senior Chen Mo, why are you here? Looking for a part-time job? Or meeting someone?"

Looking for a job?

Meeting someone?

Chen Mo hesitated for a moment. If he told them he was the mastermind behind Black Domain Technology, wouldn't that be a bit too cruel?

"Let's just say I'm here for a special kind of part-time work. Do you know where Tian Tian's office is?"

Xiaoxiao gave him a knowing look.

"Of course I do. But if you're just looking for part-time work, you don't need to see President Tian. Just go to HR."

"My case is a little… different."

"Alright then! I'll take you to see her."

Xiaoxiao nodded, not suspecting anything. Since the company was still in its early stages, a lot of rules and systems weren't fully in place yet. Even an ordinary person could meet the president with a simple appointment.
