Chapter 31 - U.A. Entrance Exam - 2

Minato's POV

The moment I burst into Battle Center A, the mock city became my hunting ground. Robots, designed to mimic villains, rumbled to life, their optical sensors glowing red. I didn't waste a second. My strategy was simple: maximum efficiency with minimal visible chakra.

I engaged a trio of one-pointers, a blur of motion. My movements were too fast for the average eye, an enhanced speed that looked like a conventional Quirk. A precise, chakra-infused punch shattered one robot's head. I twisted, my leg sweeping out in a powerful kick that tore through another's chassis. The third, I sidestepped, letting it lumber past before striking its back with a focused Chakra Enhanced Strength blow, sending it tumbling. No elaborate hand seals, just raw, disguised power.

As I moved, I kept an ear out for distress. This exam wasn't just about points; it was about demonstrating heroism. I spotted a girl with a magnetism Quirk struggling to pull a robot off a fallen applicant. With a flicker, I was there, a lightning-fast Body Flicker that appeared as an extreme burst of speed. I tore the robot away, then gave the dazed applicant a quick, encouraging nod before darting off again.

Further in, a boy with an electricity Quirk was pinned under debris from a collapsed building, a three-pointer bearing down on him. Without hesitation, I threw a marked kunai, instantly teleporting to the debris. A quick, powerful punch shattered the rubble, freeing the boy just as the robot's fist came down. The robot, now exposed, met a swift, devastating kick. I was gone before the boy could even fully process what had happened.

My points accumulated rapidly. I was a phantom, an unstoppable force, tearing through the robots. I was efficient, strategic, and always aware of my surroundings, ready to assist.

Meanwhile, in the U.A. Observation Room (Teachers' POV)

In a darkened observation room high above Battle Center A, the U.A. faculty watched the screens intently. Each screen displayed a different area of the test site, focusing on promising candidates.

"Bakugo Katsuki is certainly explosive," commented Midnight, watching a screen where Bakugo detonated a cluster of robots. "Very powerful Quirk, but a bit... volatile."

"This young lady, with the vine Quirk, is demonstrating impressive control and versatility," Cementoss remarked, observing Ibara Shiozaki (though her school wouldn't be specified yet, her Quirk is distinct). "She's using her vines for both offense and defense."

"And that boy with the engine legs, Tenya Iida, is showing remarkable speed and focus on point accumulation," Power Loader added, nodding. "He's all business."

The cameras cycled through various applicants, highlighting their Quirks and combat prowess. Then, a feed flickered to Minato's Battle Center A.

"Whoa, look at this kid!" Present Mic exclaimed, pointing to a screen. On it, Minato was a blur, dismantling robots with impossible speed and focused, explosive strikes. A subtle golden, crackling aura seemed to cling to him as he moved.

"That's Minato Namikaze, the pop idol," said Eraser Head, his eyes narrowed as he watched. "His file lists his Quirk as 'Chakra,' but that speed... and that Strength. It's superhuman."

"He's certainly fast," Eraser Head grunted, a flicker of interest in his usually world-weary eyes. "And efficient. No wasted movements. He's also assisting other candidates, I've seen him clear paths for those trapped. That golden shimmer almost looks like a Lightning Quirk on top of speed."

Nezu, perched on a high chair, his sharp eyes fixed on the screen, watched Minato's movements with an intensity that bordered on suspicion. He observed the fluid, almost supernatural way Minato moved, the precise, explosive impacts. The golden, crackling aura that accompanied his speed was unnerving. When Minato used the Body Flicker to save an applicant, appearing and disappearing in an instant, Nezu's ears twitched.

Teleportation? That incredible, electrified speed, almost like a full-body electrical field? That explosive power... Nezu's mind whirred. More than one Quirk? Or a highly versatile one manifesting multiple abilities? This level of mastery is concerning. Could he be related to All For One? A secret inheritor, perhaps? A user of multiple stolen Quirks? The thought sent a chill down his spine. The school's security protocols were paramount.

Suddenly, a tremor shook the entire observation room. On the main screen, a colossal, lumbering silhouette emerged from the mock cityscape – the Zero-Pointer, a monstrous robot with no scoring value, designed purely as an obstacle.

Back at Battle Center A (Minato's POV)

The ground began to tremble. A guttural roar of grinding gears filled the air, growing louder and louder. Every applicant still in the vicinity looked up, their eyes widening in horror.

Then it emerged – the Zero-Pointer. It was enormous, dwarfing the buildings around it, a hulking behemoth of metal and destruction. Its single, glowing red eye fixated on the remaining applicants.

Panic erupted.

"It's the Zero-Pointer!"

"Run! It's not worth any points!"

"Get out of the way!"

Scores of applicants, their faces pale with fear, turned and fled, their dreams of heroism momentarily forgotten in the face of such overwhelming power. The Zero-Pointer began to lumber forward, its massive footfalls shaking the very earth.

I watched them go, but my eyes were fixed on the colossal robot. This was the moment. The decisive action that would leave no doubt about my capabilities.

There was an applicant caught in its path, a girl frozen in fear, unable to move. She was directly beneath its next stomping foot.

Without hesitation, I acted. I pulled out my custom-made kunai, spinning it in my hand. With all the force I could muster, I threw it. The kunai soared, a tiny silver streak, arcing high into the air and embedding itself firmly onto the very top of the Zero-Pointer's massive head.

Then, I focused my chakra. I funneled it into my palm, spinning, churning, compressing. It grew, glowing with an ominous, chaotic energy.

"Here goes nothing," I muttered, my voice barely audible above the robot's thundering approach.

With a flash, I teleported directly to the kunai, appearing on the Zero-Pointer's head. The massive robot paused, its single red eye scanning, trying to locate the tiny irritant on its crown.

"BIG BALL RASENGAN!" I roared, pushing the immense, swirling sphere of chakra down onto the robot's metallic skull.

The Super Ultra Big Ball Rasengan (a variation I'd perfected for maximum, localized destruction) tore through the Zero-Pointer's head like paper. Metal shrieked, sparks flew, and an explosive wave of energy ripped through the robot's internal machinery. It shuddered, groaned, and then, with a deafening crash that echoed across the entire Battle Center, the colossal Zero-Pointer toppled forward, collapsing into a heap of sparking, twisted scrap metal. The ground trembled violently from its impact.

The entire area fell silent.

Back in the Observation Room (Teachers' POV Continued)

The teachers watched in stunned silence as the Zero-Pointer appeared. Most expected students to flee. Then, they saw Minato.

"He's not running?!" Midnight exclaimed, her eyes wide.

They watched him throw the kunai, then vanish.

"A-a teleportation Quirk?!" Present Mic sputtered, barely believing his eyes. "And that golden, crackling energy! Is that his 'Speed and Strength' in action? It looks almost like a Lightning Quirk on its own!"

Then, Minato reappeared on the robot's head, an immense, swirling sphere of blue energy in his hand.

"What is that?!" Power Loader gasped, leaning forward. "That's not just 'strength enhancement' or 'lightning'! That's... a concentrated energy blast!"

Nezu's ears flattened slightly, his gaze piercing. The teleportation Technique was undeniable. The golden, crackling aura was providing that incredible speed and enhanced physical power, was visibly distinct from the immense, spiraling energy sphere of the Rasengan. Three, potentially four, distinct abilities: enhanced speed, physical strength, teleportation, and this energy sphere. The image of the "Silver Flash" from All Might's reports, the one who effortlessly destroyed Chisaki's base and saved Eri... it matched. The terrifying possibility of All For One, or a similar existence, having planted such a powerful individual began to solidify in Nezu's mind. This required immediate, discreet investigation.

Beside Nezu, All Might, in his gaunt civilian form, stared at the screen, his eyes wide. He saw the impossible speed, the golden, crackling aura, the marked kunai, and the teleportation. Then, the overwhelming, spiraling energy in Minato's hand. He remembered the blinding flash, the precise strikes, the impossible power that had allowed the "Silver Flash" to keep up with and even surpass him in their brief encounter against All For One. The very moves he'd seen from the mysterious stranger who had helped him defeat All For One three years ago. The thought solidified in his mind: It's him. The one who truly saved me. He's here. A mix of awe, confusion, and profound gratitude washed over him.

The screen flickered, showing the Zero-Pointer's dramatic collapse. The observation room was silent, save for the hum of the monitors. The U.A. faculty exchanged stunned glances. This exam had just gotten far more interesting.
