Present

«Eight pawns," Emeric still shook his head in surprise. - The Heavenly Dragon bearers are not simple individuals after all....

He looked around at the passed out Ichika, who was sprawled out on the couch. After calming down the potential carnage, Emeric could finally begin the immediate ritual for adding another addition to his entourage.

But still, eight pawns? All pawns of not the weakest demon? Is Longin alone worth that many pieces? One must take into account that Ichika herself has only just come into contact with the supernatural world, and in terms of strength she is not far from a merely trained human. Even if she hadn't awakened her artifact before, its passive presence still awakened hidden human potential. There's a reason Ichika was a trump card on several track and field teams.

Actually, Emeric had originally hoped to give Ichika the abilities of a Knight or Rook, but the Pawns were immediately in his hands. Yes, in front of their potential hosts, the Evil Figures themselves appear in the hands of kings.

But still, amazing potential!

He was able to quietly reincarnate Valerie with his mutation queen eight years ago, and by "dumb" grading a normal queen is worth nine pawns.

And after a time like this, when he's already so much stronger than himself from the past?

Saliva itself began to build up in his mouth.....

«Don't die of greed, my king," Akeno loosened Ichika's form slightly to make it easier for her to breathe. - Our problems are just beginning, aren't they?

She looked earnestly into his eyes.

«Hmmm," he hummed affirmatively and sat down at his desk. - Yes, there will be problems, and not small ones.....

That's an understatement.

White and Red have a special place among the holders of Sacred Mechanisms.

Usually Longinus carriers always leave something behind. Some legend or a story about their adventures, but statistics is statistics, that it takes an average value. That is, there were also those who simply lived their lives quietly, or, conventionally, did not get out of their halo of habitat, like some kind of guards who protect their home.

But White and Red...

These Longinus bearers had a much higher average for "fussiness". They themselves stimulated each other to compete and provoke fights. If one lagged behind, the other sooner or later overpowered himself and caught up with the first. Of course, not always, but in large numbers of cases.

Why exactly were Dryg and Albion the only Heavenly Dragons?

No one can say exactly when they were born, or even from what nest they came. Everyone remembers only the awe they inspired in all peoples, whether on Earth or in the Underworld.

But to Emeric, the question seemed painfully simple. Of course, it was not without his "knowledge," but if you think about it, it wasn't that complicated.

Two incredibly strong and brilliant in their potential dragons met, which had already managed to "dominate" all the nearest individuals. They were essentially the same in character, or rather in ambition, dragons. They met and began to fight.

And then some.

Also.

And for so long they stimulated each other that no one else was their adversary but themselves. So they began to kill each other with even greater fury. They stimulated each other's primal instincts, which made it possible for them never to tire of the endless battles, for their personal power, which grew like yeast, always came first.

Emeric would call them just the perfect pair of idea war junkies. Who were indeed incredibly lucky to have met each other. Without Albion, there would be no Dryg, and without Dryg, there would be no Albion.

This mechanism partially worked on their carriers as well. They felt each other's presence almost instinctively. Sooner or later they crossed each other, perhaps by the forces of Fate itself, and it started to get hectic. It was not always fatal, but they loved to have a good time. Often the two carriers even united, as their prototypes had done in their time, and then it was no fun for everyone else. In two, the bearers of Red and White could kick some god, of course, if they had already more or less "entered the force".

In short, these Dragons specifically were treated with great apprehension.

And now both of these historical debauchees weren't just on the same team, sort of forever, but technically serving the same young demon. The rising talent of the New Lords faction, the technically ruling upper echelon of all Hell, by the way.

Actually, when Hell had found out that he had been able to recruit White, it had been an unreal mess. The endless attempts to "squeeze" his queen legally didn't even stop him from having an older sister, who was the Lord of Hell for a second. And he didn't even want to think about the endless requests to exchange figures. There was no counting how many insolent individuals he had shortened. Not to mention the explosion that occurred when the Great King faction found out about Valerie's origins. The new Lords had to work very hard to make sure that this information didn't get any further than the ruling elite.

Anyway, it was fun, or not so much, depending on perspective. Someone sees a glass half full, someone empty, and he just smashes the glass over the heads of those who annoy him.

There's a reason he has such a loud nickname in the Underworld... It's best not to bring it up, it's kind of cool and kind of tries to belittle him...

And now we add Red to the equation!

Even his, inherently immediate, consciousness already saw big problems in the future.

Sighing sadly, he looked around at his surroundings and didn't notice his queen.

«Where's Valerie? - he turned to his elephant.

«Emeric-sama," Akeno looked at him disapprovingly as she checked on Ichika's well-being. - You can't be so callous to the feelings of a girl who cares about you.....

He only remotely understood what Akeno meant....

«What am I supposed to do? - He leaned back in his chair helplessly.

«Well," she glanced at him with an incomprehensible intensity. - Valerie feels abandoned, my king," she gave him a hinting glance. - Perhaps you should show her exactly how important she is to you.

«What do you mean? - With hidden excitement, he asked.

«Emeric-sama," Akeno shook her head. - How many years have you been together with your queen?

«Eight...

«Isn't it time to, well," she batted her eyelashes. - To force things? To do the very...

«The very thing," he repeated after her. - Wouldn't the very thing spoil the situation? I'm like, would- - Emeric nervously adjusted his tie. - Making myself look even more selfish.....

«In a normal situation, you would be right," she sighed at his ignorance. - But now Valerie feels that you've found a counterpart for her, a replacement. Show her exactly how much you value her, that she's special to you personally...'' - her cheeks are flushed with excitement. - It will be incredibly symbolic, your first one that will cement your bond even stronger....

Emeric sighed convulsively. He could always lose his virginity at the flick of a servant's finger. He was a demon after all, and it was normal for him. But when he came of age, Valerie was already around, and later Akeno, and wasting time with some strangers when his future lovers were kind of around.... It would be piggish, it disgusted him. He couldn't exactly explain why he hadn't done it with Valerie earlier, it just hadn't seemed like the right occasion. Hitting on them was something he liked to do, and it was kind of like nature would take its course sooner or later. But right now?

Why not?

He loves Valerie and she loves him, he was sure.

Why should he limit himself?

«I love you, Akeno! - With a joyous cry full of excitement, he ran up to Akeno and kissed her cheeks while she giggled. - You are simply the best!

The past, slightly oppressive aura in the room was instantly dispelled.

«Well, well, well, Emeric-sama," she ran her finger along his cheek. - Today you already have your non-displayed one waiting for you. But I hope," she rose on tiptoe and whispered hotly in his ear, "that it will be my turn too...

He stroked her back affectionately and kissed her forehead one last time, meeting her gaze.

«You bet your ass, my angel.... - he chuckled slightly at her reaction from his diminutive and headed for the exit. - Akeno...

«Don't worry, Emeric-sama," she practically waved her handkerchief at him. - I'll take care of our new addition while you, well...'' - Her cheeks were glowing again. - You know...

«A-ha-ha," he laughed wickedly. - Thank you, Akeno!

He tapped lightly on the door to her room.

«May I?

He didn't hear a reply, so he just walked into the room.

On the big bed lay his favorite queen. She was dressed in her everyday outfit, consisting of a sweater and jeans, which still couldn't hide the splendor of their mistress.

Valerie wasn't looking at him, but she was obviously awake, since she was still dressed in casual clothes.

He took off his jacket and slowly lay down next to her.

«My star," the hand he'd been trying to put on her shoulder was thrown away with a careless movement. - I have a present for you, don't I?

A large, red flower appeared in front of Valerie.

«Rosa? - she finally deigned to turn to him. So they lay there, facing each other. She was lightly rubbing the rose, and he was just admiring it. - You couldn't think of anything more original?

Despite her complaints, she didn't throw the flower away. It was clear that she was pleased, but that wasn't enough.....

«My star," he put his hand on her supple waist; she didn't object. - Do you remember the first time we met? Do you remember Dante Alighieri?

She nodded, but didn't look him in the eye.

«Do you remember his last words?

«Mmm," she twirled the flower in her hands a little. - Something about Beatrice...?

«Yes," he nodded and began to stroke her waist lightly. - There were many significant events in Dante Alighieri's history as a person, but it was Beatrice that he remembered before his death," he raised his hand to rest on her cheek and meet her gaze. - Despite his official marriage to someone else, it was his love for Beatrice that he sang about in his Divine Comedy," she listened to him as if mesmerized. - At the end of his famous poem, she flies to him on a griffin and gives him flowers.....

«Roses? - She asked a little timidly.

«Maybe roses, too," he shrugged. - It didn't matter which flower she gave him," he began to draw closer to her. - What mattered was that despite the centuries-long madness of his imagination, with his last words he was trying to express all his love...

He moved closer and gently took the flower from her hands to set it aside. They met gazes.

«You are my Beatrice," their foreheads touched. - No one can replace you...

Before their lips touched, she managed to say:

«I love you, Emeric....
