Chapter 13 - Chapter: The Silent Snow and the Warm Flame

The world Naruto landed in was nothing like he had ever seen before.

Snowflakes drifted lazily from a sky the color of a frozen dawn. Towering mountains glistened under layers of untouched snow, and the air shimmered like glass. It should have been cold—bone-chillingly cold—but it wasn't. The atmosphere felt… warm. Not physically, but in a way that wrapped around his heart, like a mother's hug on a cold night.

Naruto took a cautious step forward, boots crunching against snow that didn't sink beneath his weight. Before he could make sense of where he was, a presence stirred.

From the horizon, a figure emerged. It was a fox, but unlike any fox Naruto had ever imagined. Towering in size, clothed in a majestic white pelt that shimmered like moonlight, a katana was strapped across its back. One long tail waved behind it, coiled with golden runes that pulsed with energy. Its eyes—silver and glowing with wisdom—locked onto Naruto with curiosity.

Naruto blinked. "You… you're a fox?" he asked, star-eyed. "Are you my summon? Please tell me you're my summon! You look SO COOL!"

The majestic creature raised a single white eyebrow and murmured internally, Does this kid have a screw loose?

Out loud, his voice was deep but smooth. "Listen, kid. No one has ever summoned us. Not in over a thousand years. Our clan does not accept just anyone. You're the first in centuries to be pulled here."

Naruto's face fell slightly. "Oh… sorry. Asuma-sensei just showed us how summoning works. I thought if I tried, I'd get some cool summon, you know?"

The fox tilted his head. "You tried… without a contract?"

Naruto scratched the back of his head and laughed sheepishly. "Yeah, maybe not my smartest moment."

The fox let out a slow exhale. "Foolish… yet something guided you here."

Naruto tilted his head. "Huh?"

The fox stepped forward. "My name is Hyōga, the Sage of the Northern Snows and the Elder of the Arctic Fox Clan. To be accepted as our summoner, you must face a trial. But first, you must be seen."

He gestured with his paw. "Come. You must meet the Elder of Memory."

Naruto followed without question. Along the way, black-furred foxes peeked at him from snowy rocks and ledges. Each one had unique names whispered among themselves: Kuroi, Shirozaki, Tsume, Renga—silent, mysterious, but respectful.

They arrived at a great temple carved into the mountain. Inside, resting on a stone dais, sat a smaller but dignified fox with glowing eyes. With no words, the fox touched its paw to Naruto's forehead.

Naruto winced as a sharp pain flashed in his skull. Then memories unraveled. Loneliness on the swings, glares from villagers, the joy of ramen, the pain of rejection, Iruka's kindness, his vow to become Hokage, the hurt from his team… Choji's friendship… Yumiko's hug.

It passed.

The fox elder stepped back and nodded to Hyōga. "This child… carries pain, yet walks forward."

Hyōga turned to Naruto. "That pain you felt was the purification. The Nine-Tails' chakra has warped your own. You originally had a small affinity for water. But his constant presence intensified it. Your water nature grew unnaturally strong, and his yang chakra merged with it. This gave birth to a latent Ice Release affinity."

Naruto's jaw dropped. "I-Ice? I can use ice?"

Hyōga nodded. "Yes. But without proper guidance, in another two years, his yang chakra would've overridden your natural element. You would've been left unbalanced… chaotic. But I've stabilized your seal. Now, you can grow freely."

Hyōga unrolled a large scroll with ancient calligraphy. "If you still wish it… sign your name. You will become the first human in a thousand years to join our family."

Naruto stood silent for a moment. "Family?"

Hyōga's silver eyes softened. "We do not choose lightly. But we believe in loyalty, in shared pain, and in shared joy. Family never betrays. We fight together. We laugh together."

Naruto trembled.

He fell to his knees.

Tears slipped down his face.

"I never… had that before," he whispered.

Hyōga walked over and wrapped his large body around Naruto. "You do now."

Naruto signed the scroll with a firm hand.

Moments later, a smaller white-furred fox leapt into the room. She looked about his age—ten or eleven—with piercing white eyes and a mischievous grin. She wore a tiny blue kimono and had a wooden practice sword strapped to her back.

"This is my daughter," Hyōga said. "Her name is Yuki."

Naruto's eyes widened. "She's so cute!"

Yuki huffed, leapt, and bit his hand lightly. "Don't call me cute!"

Hyōga sighed. "Careful. She's trained in swordsmanship, transformation, and speed. She will be your partner. Learn to coordinate with her."

Naruto rubbed his hand and nodded. "Got it."

"She will come back with you," Hyōga added. "She will teach you. You will learn our style—speed, precision, swordplay, and sage chakra."

Naruto's heart swelled. "I promise… I'll protect her too."

Hyōga gave him one last long look. "Then go. Live well, Naruto. Our clan walks beside you now."

With a poof of elegant snow-smoke, Naruto vanished.

Konoha – Training Grounds

Two loud thuds echoed.

Naruto and Choji landed at the exact same time.

Before either could get their bearings—SLAP!

Yumiko stood before them, cheeks streaked with tears. She had slapped both without hesitation and now pulled them into a crushing hug.

"Don't you ever do something like that again," she sobbed. "Do you know how scared I was? Both of you—gone like that—without a word!"

Naruto stood frozen, unsure how to respond.

No one had cried over him before.

He quietly hugged her back, burying his face in her shoulder.

Behind them, Ino yelled, "You two IDIOTS! What were you thinking?!"

Both scratched their heads in embarrassment, muttering, "Sorry…" in sync.

Hiruzen walked forward with narrowed eyes. "So… you two signed contracts?"

They nodded.

Naruto pulled out a small white fox from his jacket. She was about the size of a cat, her fur pure white, her eyes calm and cold. She sat comfortably on Naruto's head.

Ino squealed. "She's adorable!"

Yumiko reached out, but Yuki hopped and perched on Naruto's shoulder, dignified.

Then Choji stepped forward.

Standing beside him was Wukong.

Not just a monkey—the Monkey King. His fiery golden hair flickered like sunlight, a golden crown circled his brow, and Ryūji bangles hung from his ears, expanding and shrinking with energy. His aura was overwhelming, majestic… royal.

Raigo, Enma's son, immediately dropped to his knees.

Enma beside Hiruzen stammered, "W-w-w-what are you doing here?!"

Wukong crossed his arms lazily. "Can't you see? I'm Choji-dono's personal summon."

Everyone stood in stunned silence.

He gave a grin, filled with pride and history.

"I am the founder of the Monkey Clan," he said plainly.

Asuma and Hiruzen's jaws hit the floor.
