With the Status Window now showing his newly acquired appraisal, Leo felt a renewed sense of purpose. Appraisal. This was it. This was his key to understanding this bizarre new reality.

He looked around the dense jungle, the towering trees and glowing flora no longer just a terrifying backdrop, but a canvas of information waiting to be unlocked. He focused his ethereal gaze on a nearby plant, one with large, vibrant purple leaves that pulsed with a faint, internal light. 'Appraisal', he thought, directing the command at the plant.

Instantly, a new, smaller window appeared in his vision.

[Luminis Vine: A common magical plant found in the lower canopy of the Vespera jungles. Its leaves absorb ambient mana and convert it into bioluminescent light. Non-edible for most species. Mana content: Low.]

A thrill shot through Leo, a genuine spark of excitement he hadn't felt since his death. It worked! The system wasn't just a static display; it was an interactive guide, a direct link to the secrets of this world. He could learn, he could understand. This was far better than just guessing.

'Vespera, so that's the name of this place' He thought excitedly.

He continued his exploration, now with a new tool at his disposal. He drifted deeper into the jungle. Wandering around, he appraised everything he came across. Trees, rocks, bushes.

As he glided silently through a particularly dense thicket of glowing ferns, a sudden rustling caught his attention. It was a small sound, easily missed by normal ears, but his heightened senses as a ghost, combined with his Spectral Sight, picked it up clearly. He paused, hovering near a cluster of vibrant blue mushrooms, and peered into the shadows.

A tiny creature, no bigger than his thumb, scuttled out from beneath a moss-covered root. It was a fascinating sight: a miniature beetle with a shell that shimmered with all the colors of the rainbow, like a living gemstone. Its six delicate legs moved with surprising speed, and it had two long, slender antennae that twitched constantly, sampling the air. It seemed completely unaware of his presence. Driven by curiosity and his newfound Appraisal skill, Leo quickly appraised the beetle.

Leo read through its status curiously. 'It's pretty weak, or at least weaker than me. I could try out my possession skill on it.' The thought lingered in his mind, a strange mix of apprehension and eagerness. He had the ability, now he had a target. The idea of controlling another living thing, even a tiny beetle, was unsettling, but also a potential key to understanding his own powers and this new world.

He started to approach it slowly since he couldn't go fast anyway and when he was just a few centimeters from the beetle he entered it's body and started a fight for control. His stats were much higher and he should be capable of taking control very easily but it took him a solid minute because he wasn't familiar with this new power of his.

As he finally took control of the tiny creatures body a jolt went through him. For a fleeting moment, he felt the world through the beetle's minuscule senses: the rough texture of the moss, the earthy scent of the decaying leaves, the subtle vibrations of the ground. It was a dizzying, overwhelming burst of sensory input, so different from his own ghostly perception. Then, just as quickly, the connection solidified. He was in the beetle.

'I missed this' he sighed. 'It hasn't even been a day since i was thrown into this body but i already missed having my senses' he reminisced.

He tried to move, and the beetle's legs scuttled forward, precisely as he willed them. He turned its head, and its antennae twitched in response to his mental command. It was clumsy, unfamiliar, but undeniably his control. He felt a strange exhilaration mixed with a profound sense of violation. He was piloting a living creature. He could feel its tiny, simple thoughts, its instincts for food and safety, but his own consciousness remained dominant. He was a ghost, possessing a body.

he then promptly examined his new status after possessing his first creature.

Leo tested his newfound control over the Rainbow Scarab. He scuttled it across a patch of damp earth, feeling the vibration of the tiny legs against the ground. The world from this perspective was entirely new – a vast, intricate landscape of soil and fallen leaves. The scents were incredibly strong, a rich tapestry of decay and life. He directed the beetle to climb a small, gnarled root, feeling the slight strain in its tiny limbs as it ascended. It was a strange, almost comical experience, yet profoundly real.

He spent several minutes simply moving, exploring the immediate vicinity as a beetle. He felt the subtle pull of the beetle's innate instincts – a desire to find more decaying plant matter, a slight urge to burrow. But his own consciousness easily overrode these impulses. He was in control, a puppeteer pulling the strings of a living puppet. The novelty of it was exhilarating, a stark contrast to the helplessness he'd felt as a disembodied spirit. This was a way to interact with the world, to feel, to be physical again, even if only through a borrowed body. He was no longer just an observer, he was an actor in this strange new world.

He continued to manipulate the beetle, making it scuttle around, dig small holes, and even try to climb a blade of grass. Each movement, each interaction, was a small victory, a step towards understanding his new existence. The world, once a terrifying unknown, was slowly becoming a landscape of possibilities. He wondered what other creatures he could possess, what other skills he could gain. The jungle, once a place of dread, now felt like a vast, open-world game, waiting for him to explore its every secret.
