Chapter 35 - Chapter 35: Puppetry?!

A month had passed since Kakashi's clash with the Hulk at Culver University, and the Copy Ninja had slipped back into the shadows.

Now, lounging in his house in Hell's kitchen, New York, Kakashi sprawled on a worn couch as he faced the television screen.

The news blared, covering a press conference by Tony Stark, the billionaire genius recently returned from captivity in Afghanistan. .

"I've seen what my weapons do in the wrong hands," Stark said, his voice steady despite the chaos of flashing cameras. "No more. Stark Industries is out of the weapons game." He paused, a smirk tugging at his lips. "And one more thing—the truth is… I am Iron Man."

The room erupted, reporters shouting, but Kakashi's eyes crinkled, a dry chuckle escaping. 'Bold move, Stark. He just painted a target on his back.'

The declaration was audacious, reckless even, like Naruto announcing he'd become Hokage mid-battle.

Kakashi grabbed his phone, pulling up articles on this "Iron Man." Images loaded—a sleek red-and-gold suit of armor, bristling with tech: repulsors blasting energy, missiles launching, jets propelling it through the sky.

'He pilots it from inside. Like Sasori hiding in his puppet shell, loaded with hidden weapons.' Kakashi thought

The comparison sparked a memory, one that made Kakashi sit up. 'Wait a second…'

Kakashi has been trying to remember where he had seen these weapons that the people of these world used, the guns, missiles, etc.

He finally remembered where he had seen these weapons in his own world. It was

the ability of the Asura Path, one of Nagato's Six Paths of Pain.

'That thing fired missiles from its hands, had a head-cannon for energy blasts, even turned its body into chainsaws.' Kakashi's mind raced.

'How did the Rinnegan tap into tech like this? Earth's tech, in another world out of this universe?'

The connection was unsettling, another layer to the mysteries piling up since he'd arrived—his persistent Sharingan, the Izanagi stone, the Shinto gods tied to his eyes.

He leaned back, exhaling. 'Still, That suit's impressive. Maybe I should try puppetry.'

Sasori had reveled in his art, crafting deadly masterpieces. 'With this world's tech and weaponry—a puppet army could be a powerhouse. Plus, it'd be fun.' Kakashi chuckled, imagining a chakra-infused puppet zipping around with repulsors. 'That would make Sasori who considered his art to be jealous.'

'With the Fuinjutsu seals that I have learned from Kamar Taj, I could built some really good puppets. Getting good weapons would be a issue but I can always get them from illegal weapon dealers.'

'I have not really practiced with chakra threads in a long time. And it would not be easy as when I practiced with them when I was a kid. My chakra capacity has grown and is still growing. And it pains me to think that my chakra control is not as good as it was. It's still better than most jonins but not up to my standard.'

'I would have to work on my chakra control and if I want to use a puppet with each of my fingers than my skill level with chakra threads needs to increase. Well and there is my non existent experience with puppetry. It would take a lot of time to work on that too.'

'But it would be so much fun....to learn a new shinobi art.' Kakashi could not help but smile at that thought.

His phone pinged, snapping him out of his thoughts. A message from his mercenary handler: Bruce Banner escaped custody. General Ross requests Hound specifically to assist in recapture. High priority.

Kakashi shook his head, his eye crinkling with amusement. 'The army can't even keep a guy locked up? Pathetic.' But suspicion crept in. 'Ross has been sniffing around for me all month but he has found nothing about me yet. This smells like a trap to lure me out.'

Kakashi wasn't about to walk into an ambush blind. He summoned Pakkun, the grizzled ninja dog appearing in a puff of smoke. "Yo, Pakkun, I need the pack to track Bruce Banner. Confirm if he's really loose or if Ross is playing games to find me."

Pakkun scratched his ear, grumbling. "You owe me a steak for this, boss. I'll get the pups on it." He vanished, relaying orders to the canine network.

Within hours, Pakkun returned, his pug face scrunched. "Banner's out, alright. Holed up with some scientist in Harlem. But Ross's boys are already moving in. You're late to the party."

Kakashi's eye widened. 'He's really out?' He donned his gear, his cloak billowing as he teleported to Harlem via Kamui.

He quickly arriving on a rooftop as he spotted an army convoy surrounding a lab, led by a fully healed Emil Blonsky.

'How's he back in action? A month's too fast for his recovery considering he was half dead the last time I saw him.' Before he could intervene, soldiers stormed the lab, dragging out a disheveled Banner. A helicopter lifted off, Ross and Banner aboard, heading downtown.

'Huh he did not transform into Hulk this time. Well good for them. Let's just follow them for a good measure.'

Kakashi followed, using body flicker to keep pace.

But the chopper suddenly veered back toward Harlem, and Kakashi's instincts screamed. Landing on a high-rise, he saw why—a monstrous creature, gray and spiked, was tearing through the streets, its roars rivaling the Hulk's.

'Another one?' His eye narrowed as Banner leaped from the chopper, transforming mid-air into the Hulk, crashing into the pavement to face the beast.

The gray monster bellowed, its voice distorted but human. "Banner! You can't stop me! I'm the Abomination!"

Kakashi had a wry smile under his mask 'Ross got his wish of more Hulks. Idiot.' The Hulk and Abomination collided, their blows shaking buildings, sending cars flying like toys.
