"How do you know that I don't actually have a low ranked Aspect?"
"What about Lily? Will she come with me?"
There was an awkward silence after Dorian asked that question, during which he wondered if Nox was outright going to say no or will she be allowed to go with him.
"Yes, but it would be better if she stays here at this castle for now. Once you register at the Academy of Awakeners, you will have to go through a few trials before things settle down. Until then you won't have enough privacy to keep her hidden."
'Trials? But I don't even know how to use my Aspect yet! And leave Lily here? I don't know how she would react to that.' He wondered before asking "Will she be okay here?"
"She will be well cared for, I assure you of that." Nox replied.
'Is he trying to keep her here as a hostage? What am I supposed to do in this situation? I can't take her with me if what he said about the trials at the Academy is true.' No matter how hard he thought, Dorian was unable to find a favorable way to deal with this situation.
Deciding to worry about it after asking Lily's opinion, he asked the question that has been bothering him since yesterday when he first met Nox, "Why did you kill the other guy yesterday?"
Although he had already asked this question once, Nox ignored the question by declaring it as a 'trivial matter'. He hoped to get an actual answer this time around.
"I knew about your existence Dorian, but not your whereabouts. I knew you were somewhere in the mundane world but it is terribly difficult to find a person with just that much information.
Fortunately, an A ranked Awakener, known as Professor Castor possessed a small sample of your father's blood. With that, he was able to create a potion, using which I was able to exactly locate you here in the mundane world.
Then he asked me and one of his subordinates to bring you to him. You can guess the rest." Nox answered.
"So you pretended to be on his side to get to me? And he is one of the guys who want me to die to get the throne?" Dorian expressed his thoughts.
"Well, he does want you to die, but not for the throne. Professor Castor's Aspect allows him to increase his strength and lifespan through the blood of other Awakeners.
He couldn't let go of the opportunity to get is hands on the blood of a son of Stormsky clan." Nox replied.
"That professor is a bit too creepy, isn't he?' Dorian thought. "But wait, why would he need mine? Didn't you say that he already had blood of my father?"
"Not in sufficient quantity. Barely more than a drop. He needs a lot more than that for his Aspect to work." Nox said.
"So won't you be in trouble now? Since you killed his subordinate?" Dorian asked. He had no idea why he was even worrying about the well being of his mysterious kidnapper. 'I am not anxious, just curious about what's his plan' he told himself.
'That's irrelevant. Currently our only goal is to keep you hidden. The professor no longer possesses any of your father's blood, so he won't be able to locate you using the same method again.
He will be told that you had already Awakened and that during the confrontation, you used an attack powerful enough to vaporize your own body and cause the death of his subordinate.
That way, at least for a little while, he will believe that you no longer exist." Nox answered.
Dorian couldn't help but ask, "Why are you doing all this? Why are you on my side?"
Although his face was completely veiled by the dark smoke, Dorian got the strange feeling that his gaze suddenly got a lot more intense.
"You can say that your older brother was a dear friend of mine."
