Chapter 9 - Chapter 10: An Unexpected Encounter

Amidst small mountains of discarded ship parts, the silhouette of a blue-haired teenager was absorbed in a dangerous "toy." Dressed in a floral shirt on his upper body and only blue briefs below, he tinkered with an oddly shaped long-barreled cannon.

"Franky Cannon, fire!"

As the blue-haired teenager finished his howl, he immediately pulled the fuse in his hand.

Boom!

Propelled by gunpowder, the cannonball shot straight out of the barrel, soaring into the distance.

Just at that moment, a swift sailing ship, propelled by the sea breeze, glided out from the coast of Water Seven. The cannonball struck the mainmast of the sailing ship directly, causing the mast to snap in the middle, breaking into two pieces and slowly falling onto the deck.

Sandersonia, who was sitting on the mast, was suddenly confronted with this chaos. Her eyes widened in shock, and she spontaneously cried out, "This... hey hey hey!"

Seeing the emergency, Sephiroth immediately rushed towards the green-haired girl, wanting to catch her with his hands. However, in his view, the girl's graceful buttocks, clad in green briefs beneath her short green skirt, grew increasingly larger, falling directly towards his face. At this moment, it was too late for Sephiroth to dodge.

Thud—!

Sandersonia straddled Sephiroth's face precisely, taking a position like a sitting duck. She had no time to consider how ambiguous this posture was. Under the pressure of over seventy pounds, Sephiroth's neck even made a "crack!" sound as if it had broken, causing him to lose consciousness for a moment. However, thanks to the strong regenerative ability of the Batto Batto no Mi fruit, in just a few seconds, Sephiroth's fractured neck bones were perfectly repaired. This Devil Fruit granted him extraordinary recovery abilities, suitable for dealing with unexpected situations in the Grand Line.

Marigold immediately released the ship's helm and ran to the railing, looking down. Concern was clearly etched on her face as she asked, "Sandersonia, are you alright?"

Hearing this, the green-haired girl had a playful expression and scratched her head. "Ah! I'm fine, not hurt."

Sephiroth, still pinned beneath the girl, raised his hands and patted her backside. He said in a muffled voice, a little helpless, "Mmm~! It's good that you're fine, but... could you stand up first... I'm out of breath..."

"Oh! Sorry, sorry!" Sandersonia only just realized. She stood up with an embarrassed expression and took two steps back.

"Sephiroth, are you alright?"

The silver-haired teenager stood up from the deck and rotated his neck, making recovering "cracking!" sounds.

On the other side, on Abandoned Ship Island.

Iceburg, purple-haired and clad in a brown shirt and white jeans, furiously gripped the blue-haired teenager's collar. He pointed at the sailing ship with the broken mast in the sea and roared loudly, "Damn Franky! You actually made another dangerous thing! Now look what happened? You finally caused trouble!"

"It was unintentional. Who told that ship to suddenly appear!" Franky knew he had caused trouble and was a little flustered, but when facing his senior, Iceburg, he still instinctively retorted.

"Hahaha! Franky, take responsibility for your actions, that's what a real man does!"

The speaker was a bull-horned fish-man over three meters tall and powerfully built. At this moment, he effortlessly carried a steam locomotive on his shoulder. His name was Tom, and he was Franky and Iceburg's teacher. He was also the legendary shipwright who built the Oro Jackson for the Pirate King Roger.

"I understand, Mr. Tom." Franky replied with an impatient expression. He had been abandoned by his parents at the age of ten and adopted by the shipwright Tom. Therefore, this bull-horned fish-man was like both a teacher and a father to him. Generally, as long as Tom spoke, Franky would follow through.

After a while, the fast sailing ship, propelled by the current, slowly docked at Abandoned Ship Island.

"Hey! Which guy did such a dangerous thing?" Sephiroth leaped from the ship's deck onto the land. With an displeased expression, he scrutinized the three people standing on the shore one by one. Finally, his gaze fixed on the blue-haired teenager, Franky.

Franky, that guy, was quite straightforward. He immediately bowed deeply to Sephiroth. "Sorry, that cannonball was fired by me. Whatever punishment or fine you want, I'll fix the ship for you too!"

"Oh? You say so, huh!" Sephiroth gave a grim grin, clenching his right fist with a loud "crack!" If he hadn't eaten the Batto Batto no Mi and possessed astonishing recovery abilities, the impact from Sandersonia earlier would likely have left him bedridden for a long time. While he wasn't a petty person, he wasn't one to easily forgive either. Therefore, he decided to teach Franky a lesson.

Seeing Sephiroth's actions, Franky gritted his teeth and didn't back down. He still shouted loudly, "That's right, come on!"

"Alright, tough enough! I admire you!" As Sephiroth's voice rang out, he swung his fist fiercely and slammed it hard into Franky's face, causing Franky's nose to bleed profusely and his entire body to be sent flying backward over a meter.

"Now, we're even!" After speaking, Sephiroth shook his slightly aching right hand. He couldn't help but inwardly mutter: Damn it! Franky's face is really hard. It doesn't seem like he's undergone human modification yet, right?

Seeing that the conflict between the two sides had finally concluded, the shipwright Tom immediately burst into hearty laughter: "Hahaha! Little brother, well done!"

"This ship... I want to trouble you to help me dismantle it."

Before Tom could speak, Franky, who was standing up while covering his bleeding, broken nose, was rather annoyed. He widened his eyes and said in a muffled voice, "Ah!? So the punch I took just now was useless?"

Looking at the wolf head carving on the bow of the ship, Mr. Tom scratched his head, a little puzzled: "This ship looks familiar!"

"The captain of this ship seemed to be named Peter, right? They came here to repair their ship some time ago," Iceburg reminded.

"Oh! Right, that guy..."

"You know those people?" Sephiroth took half a step back, a wary expression appearing on his face. Hearing this, the three girls who had just jumped off the ship instinctively put their hands on the swords hanging at their waists, ready to draw them at any moment.

"Hahaha! It seems you hold a grudge against those fellows? Don't worry! Although I repaired their ship, I'm not involved with them."

"Those guys wanted to capture us and sell us as slaves," Sephiroth said coldly, his tone turning sharp.

Hearing this, Mr. Tom's laughter abruptly ceased, and his tone gradually turned serious, even containing a hint of genuine disgust. "Slaves? That's truly unforgivable!"

In the world of One Piece, if there was one race that detested slave trading the most, it was the fish-men race. Because most fish-men lived on Fish-Man Island, ten thousand meters beneath the sea, they rarely appeared on land. Therefore, due to their rarity, fish-men were a highly sought-after race in the slave trade, and their numbers were practically few.

Sephiroth carefully observed Mr. Tom with his eyes. He felt that the other party wasn't lying, and moreover, he analyzed based on the original One Piece storyline that Tom wasn't someone who was good at concealing his emotions.

But... Sephiroth still carefully probed: "Yes! Those guys were indeed unforgivable, so I threw them all into the sea to feed the fish."

Hearing this, Mr. Tom immediately burst into booming laughter, his laughter echoing through the air: "Hahaha! Little brother, wonderful!"

Finally, after some discussion, both sides reached an agreement. This fast sailing ship would be dismantled by Tom's Shipwright Company, and the resulting parts, as well as the two animals inside, would serve as payment for the three individuals' hard work.

As for the valuables on the ship... The four of them turned the entire fast sailing ship inside out and only managed to find four hundred sixty-three thousand eight hundred Berry! Nine people with only four hundred sixty thousand Berry, if averaged out, it meant just over fifty thousand Berry per person, barely enough for a normal person's monthly expenses... A miserable bunch of people!

The four of them divided the money, each getting over one hundred eleven thousand Berry, which was considered compensation from those slave traders...
