Chapter 10 - Engagement(3)

**Aya Starlight POV**

"Young mistress, welcome to the House of Morningstar."

As I stepped out of the carriage, a guard noticed me and respectfully welcomed us.

I nodded in response and turned to the guard who said, "Well, I shall show you to your room."

"Okay," I replied.

As we walked down the hallway of Morningstar, I noticed a poster featuring a long-haired woman with red hair and blue eyes. She looked stunning.

"So, this is his mother," I thought to myself. She appeared almost too beautiful to be human. The guard stopped, and so did I.

"Young mistress, this is your room. Tonight is the engagement party, so I hope you're ready by then."

He bowed and left, and I entered a luxurious room.

"I still can't believe my father told me to come here alone. He said I would arrive at night," I thought, feeling frustrated at him. I assumed he had business to attend to with Noah, the head of the Morningstar house.

*Sigh.*

I looked out the window in my room and saw a garden filled with stunning red flowers.

"Since I don't have anything to do, I should take the opportunity to enjoy this," I decided, thinking it would be a good idea to explore the garden.

I didn't want to deal with any unnecessary complications, so I jumped out of the window. The ground was close, and I landed without any issues.

As I walked toward the garden, I marveled, "Wow, up close they're even more beautiful! I should pick some flowers like this to take back with me."

As I got nearer to the red flowers and reached out to touch them, I heard a deep, calm voice behind me.

"They look like you, you know."

I turned toward the voice and saw a young man with long red hair and red eyes, gently touching the flowers. But then something unexpected happened; he looked at me with such intensity that I felt a blush creeping up my cheeks.

"Miss Aya, were you just enjoying the view?" he asked.

I was surprised to find myself caught staring at this young man.

"Oh, you don't know me? Let me introduce myself. My name is Arthur Morningstar, the one who will be engaged to you," he said smoothly.

"O-Oh, I see. Nice to meet you, Sir Arthur," I stuttered, unsure of why I addressed him in such a formal manner.

"I think we should call each other by our first names since we'll be engaged soon," he suggested.

"Yeah, that makes sense. Good idea," I agreed, feeling my face return to its normal color as I appreciated his calm demeanor.

"I think I should go, my lady. I have some work to finish before the night," he said.

"Good, I should head back as well. It was nice to meet you, fiancé," I replied with a smile, extending my hand for a shake.

"Me too, my lady." He shook my hand, and then he left.

I watched him walk away before making my way back to my room through the window.

As I reflected on our brief encounter, I considered his comment about the flowers looking like me. I had a few ideas, but the one that stood out was about his mother.

He probably was missing her or something.

"Forget it. I should go prepare myself," I reminded myself as I focused on the upcoming party.
