Mia thrashed about attempting to loosen the restraints as loud bangs and clashes simultaneously paraded around the back of her. She was exposed and naked, slapped across the bed and bleeding. She could feel the bedsheet had been covered in her blood from her hip and chest. After trying her hardest she managed to roll over but ended up twisting her arm, she shouted out in pain as her eyes locked on to Axel, he had been fighting with his father. Both of them covered in fresh bruises with Axel having an additional a split lip which was seeping gentle beads of red blood. His father stormed out of the room the room, staring at Mia hungrily, silently promising her that the time will come where he destroys her inside and out. Axel rushed over to Mia, wiping his hand across his face smearing the blood from his lip. He held her head in his hands and stared at her before quickly un-cuffing her and helping her regain her posture carefully. He quickly ran into the en-suite and pulled out a first aid box, plus the creams and pills from the first night. After cleaning up her cuts and carefully rubbing the cream on Mia's wrists and fabric burns he turned to her. "I don't know what to say other than I'm sorry, I didn't realise he would of gotten through my security locks. I thought you were safe.." His voice trailed off as his vision locked on the door. "He broke into the main door and managed to get through this one. I will call a locksmith to come fix it, meanwhile I'm going to stay with you. Just in case." His entire playful demeanour changed, he was serious and angry. Maybe she was his weakness right now. "You could take me with you?" Mia chimed in with a voice that sounded fragile and weak. "I said one day, and I do mean it. But as tonight's proved. You're not safe anymore. My father is even more evil then I am. He won't hold back." His head dipped in shame as his internal conflicts became visible to Mia.
She realised quickly that this badass, murder happy man sat in front of her, was secretly a scared little boy who was forced into a life of endless violence and death. Her heart twinged and her judgement snapped as she reached forwards and wrapped her arms around him. Axels face widened with shock at the sudden outburst and his features softened. "Give me one week to get my story straight and figure out how to tell you and I will be honest with you. Until then, have this." He passed her a burner phone with his number saved on it. "If you need me call as soon as you can and I will come. My father will disappear for a few days to go find a hooker to take his frustration out on. So you should be safe once I've heard he's left the hotel. I will warn you though, my number is the only one you can contact via that phone so don't be trying to ring anyone else." He looked at her with stern but soft eyes, a type of look she had never seen in him before. All of a sudden he didn't look like his father, she could see his mother in him. "Okay I understand but I'm holding you too it, one week and you tell me everything. Until then I will do as I'm asked." Mia shot him a serious look as she judged his facial expression's in response to her reply. "Seriously Mia, you are not safe here, sometimes not even with me." His eyes were genuine this time and Mia's heart throbbed, she was falling for him in some weird Stockholm syndrome kind of way. She grabbed his hand and held it tight. "If I get to see more of this Axel I would take the risks." She planted a gentle kiss on his cheek, the movement causing her to wince as it reopened the cut on the back of her hip. Blood started to rush down her back again. "I might need to call in a doctor to stitch you up." He jumped up off the bed and walked out the door while pulling his phone out of his pocket and dialling a random number. The second Axel left Mia's emotions struck her at the speed of light. Her heart was hurt and she felt violated. She walked towards the bathroom and grabbed the soft face towels and started to clean herself up, the blood wasn't an issue, where he touched felt icky and wrong. She wouldn't be able to shower properly for a few days with these cuts, she sighed as she placed the face cloth on the side and left the bathroom.
After a while Axel returned, a doctor by his side and a locksmith. She sat and had her cuts glued and stitched up as Axel pottered around with the locks on the doors with the old locksmith he brought with him. "I will add your thumbprint to this lock and remove the others, but the lock on the front door will be adjusted. I will make sure my father cannot access you again." His voice was bland and emotionless as he avoided looking at Mia. They fixed the door and added the discussed plan to it, Axel motioned for Mia to come over to place her fingerprint on the door lock. After the doctor has left she walked towards the dining room, heading to the bookshelf to retrieve a new book to read. She stood staring at the books as she noticed one with the double headed dragon insignia burned into the leather spine. She took note of where it was and picked a fantasy book on another shelf. Axel gently followed her inside. "Mia, I really need to head off. If I don't get these jobs done now, things are going to to wrong for both is us. Are you going to be okay?" He avoided her gazed as he spoke to her with his head down. "Of course I will be, what happened tonight is no different then our first interaction. I'm sure I will be just fine." Mia rolled her eyes and sneered at him leaving the sarcasm as the tone for the evening. She was done with him for tonight. She needed to be alone for a while. His eyes opened wide with hurt, complementing his beautiful brown eyes. He looked like a lost puppy, the regret laced his eyes and Mia could finally see an opening. She turned on her heel and walked away, into the bedroom. And as far as she could be away from Axel.
