Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: Warm Mornings, Deeper Bonds

The morning sunlight crept gently into the room, casting golden patterns on the tangled bedsheets and the bodies wrapped in them.

Liora stirred first, her body curled safely between her husbands. One of Keal's arms was thrown over her waist protectively, while Rivan's legs were entwined with hers. She smiled sleepily, her hand resting on her belly as she felt a tiny flutter. The baby was beginning to move more now — gentle kicks that felt like little reminders of love.

Rivan's nose twitched, his eyes fluttered open. "Is it morning already?" he whispered, voice deep with sleep.

She turned to him, brushing a strand of hair from his face. "It is… and our baby just said good morning too."

His hand gently covered hers over her belly. "That's my little one," he whispered, placing a soft kiss there.

Keal shifted next, blinking slowly before grinning. "Do I smell cinnamon?"

"No," Liora laughed softly, "but now I want cinnamon pancakes."

Rivan stretched and got out of bed. "Then cinnamon pancakes you'll get, princess."

"And hot milk," Keal added, rubbing her shoulder gently. "For you and the baby."

They padded out into the kitchen, both half-dressed, leaving Liora to rest. She watched them from the bed — two men she loved with her entire soul, moving around the kitchen like a synchronized dance. She knew how lucky she was… how rare this was.

A little while later, they returned with a tray. Cinnamon pancakes, fruit slices, warm milk, and honey. Liora sat up, and they climbed back onto the bed, feeding her gently, stealing bites from her plate, kissing her forehead between every bite.

"You two are spoiling me," she teased, her cheeks flushed with happiness.

"You deserve it," Rivan said, wiping a bit of syrup from her lip with his thumb. "You're growing our miracle."

"I feel so full these days," she said softly. "Not just physically... my heart. My soul. You both make me feel complete."

Keal leaned in, resting his forehead against hers. "You are our heart, Liora. You hold us together."

After breakfast, they stayed in bed, limbs tangled, laughter soft. Keal traced patterns on her belly while Rivan told the baby stories about how they'd build a treehouse one day and teach them to paint the sky.

Later that afternoon, Liora sat between them on the couch, dressed in soft loungewear, her feet tucked under her. They were watching a movie, but none of them were really paying attention. Keal kept stealing kisses. Rivan kept playing with her hair.

"Do you think the baby will look more like you or me?" Keal asked.

"Hopefully a mix," Liora smiled. "Your eyes, Rivan's smile… and maybe a bit of my stubbornness."

"Oh no," Rivan laughed. "Not your stubbornness. One of you is enough."

She smacked his chest playfully, and he grabbed her wrist, pulling her into his lap. "Kidding," he whispered, kissing her neck. "I love every bit of your fire."

She looked at both of them seriously for a moment. "Promise me… even when the baby comes, when life gets hard, we won't forget this. Us. This love."

Keal leaned in and kissed her slowly, deeply. "Never."

Rivan joined the kiss, holding her hand. "We're in this together. Forever."

That night, she fell asleep between them again — her favorite place. Warm, loved, and safe.

Even in her dreams, she could still feel their hands on her belly, their kisses on her skin, and their whispers in her ear: You are ours. Always.

The world was still asleep when Liora jolted awake, a sharp pain coursing through her abdomen.

"Rivan... Keal..." she breathed, clutching her belly. The pain was intense, different from the soft aches she'd grown used to over the past months.

Rivan sat up instantly, his eyes wide and panicked. "Is it time?"

Keal was already out of bed, grabbing the hospital bag they had packed weeks ago. "Let's go. Let's go now."

The car ride was fast, quiet except for Liora's controlled breathing and the murmured reassurances from both her husbands. Keal held her hand from the back seat, whispering how strong she was. Rivan drove with one hand and kept reaching back to stroke her leg, his voice shaking every time he said, "Almost there."

At the hospital, everything blurred into flashes — nurses, monitors, the smell of antiseptic, the sound of beeping machines and quiet urgency. But what remained constant were their voices in her ears, steady anchors through the waves of pain.

"You're doing amazing, baby," Keal whispered, brushing sweat from her forehead.

"We're here," Rivan said, kissing her knuckles. "Every step of the way."

Time lost all meaning. Hours passed like moments, and then…

A cry.

Followed by another.

Tears filled Liora's eyes as she lay back, exhausted, trembling, and glowing with the magic of it all. The doctor gently laid the newborn on her chest. The second was placed in Rivan's arms.

"Two perfect little miracles," the nurse whispered with a smile. "A boy and a girl."

Liora sobbed, holding her daughter close. Keal leaned over, kissing her temple, his own tears falling freely. Rivan walked over, the tiny boy in his arms bundled tightly, his eyes already blinking up at the world.

"They're so small," Liora whispered. "So beautiful."

"They're you," Keal said. "They're love."

Rivan placed the baby boy beside his sister, both nestled against Liora's chest. He leaned down and kissed them both, then kissed Liora's forehead, lingering. "You gave us a family."

The room was quiet now, peaceful. Only the soft breaths of the newborns and the overwhelming joy that had taken over their hearts.

The hospital had let them go home the next day. The apartment was warm, decorated with soft fairy lights. The crib waited in the corner. Two tiny onesies hung by the wall — "Daddy's Star" and "Mama's Moon."

Liora sat on the bed, the twins sleeping beside her, one cradled in each arm. Her eyes were tired but glowing.

Keal brought her warm soup while Rivan set down two glasses of milk. "Everything's going to change now," Rivan said, sitting beside her, eyes on the babies.

"It already has," she replied softly, her voice trembling with emotion.

They all sat together, the three of them close, wrapped in a soft blanket of quiet love.

Keal whispered, "We'll be tired. We'll fight. But I'll never forget today. The day you brought them to us."

Rivan kissed her shoulder. "The day our family became whole."

Liora smiled, brushing her finger across her son's soft cheek. "The day our world changed."
