In the corner of the back corridor of the school, where no one is easily seen, there was an awkward silence. She stood facing Leo, who seemed to have bad intentions in his eyes from the start, but she didn't expect what happened next.
Leo held his phone out to her, a sly smile on his lips, and said:
"You recognize this photo?"
She looked, and then her eyes widened.
It was a picture of her. A private photo. The one he took of her. I thought he wouldn't send it to anyone.
Before she could say a word, he quickly pulled out the phone and nodded toward three boys standing a few feet away.
They were laughing in whispers, exchanging glances with her in a way that made her skin crawl.
One raised an eyebrow, another bit his lip, and the third muttered sarcastically:
"I didn't expect her like this..."
She didn't need an explanation. Their looks were enough.
Looks that not only made her feel ashamed... but threatening.
The world felt like it was closing in around her, and the sound of her heartbeat drowned out everything else.
She raised her eyes towards Leo and said in a trembling voice:
"Why did you do that?"
He smiled without an ounce of remorse and said:
"Just a joke... Don't take it too seriously."
