Chapter 44: Belt + Potion = Token of Love? (Part 1)
"Ah... right."
As if suddenly remembering something, with a swoosh, I took out a bottle of Slightly Red Potion from my Inventory Space.
"Wu, what are you doing?" Lars asked, puzzled.
I smiled, didn't explain, and continued to pull out red potions from inside.
2 bottles, 3 bottles, 4 bottles...
As the red potions on the table kept increasing, Lars and the others' expressions gradually turned from puzzled to surprised, then to lost in thought. Their mouths were wide open, looking at me as if I were a Monster.
"Wu, can you make potions?"
Looking at the table full of red potions, at least a hundred bottles, Lars finally managed to squeeze out a sentence.
I shook my head.
"Did you find a tree that grows red potions?"
Lars's mind pictured a towering Large Tree with countless red potion bottles growing on it.
"Why don't you go find one and show me!" I almost fainted. How had I never noticed before that Lars's imagination was so Rich/Abundant?
"Alright, stop guessing wildly. These potions are all things I got from Monsters."
"So many?"
Lars said in surprise, "How many Monsters do you have to kill to get one bottle?"
"Don't worry about that. Just take them. This way, fighting the Countess will be safer."
"What about you?" Doug, whose Brain hadn't caught up yet, asked a very silly question.
"Do you think I'm the kind of good-natured person who sacrifices himself for others?"
"Definitely not."
Doug answered immediately without thinking. Damn it, although it was the expected answer, hearing Doug say it like that still made me quite unhappy.
Next, I pulled out over 50 bottles of Slightly Blue Potion. Having already had one "Experience" of this, they weren't as idiotic as before, but their Gaze towards me was still quite strange.
This Trial had already gotten me close to level 5. These Slightly Red Potions and Slightly Blue Potions were piled up like small mountains in my Inventory Space, at least several hundred bottles. If not for what just happened, which brought our friendship closer, I would have only taken out a dozen or so to show my sincerity. That would have been the maximum amount to conceal my abnormality.
But now, I didn't hesitate to take out half. Although I still couldn't tell them about the Existence of Bugged Protection, I believed they would absolutely not harm me.
"These, you guys distribute and take them." I said, pointing at the bottles on the table.
The three of them stared at the pile of bottles on the table, stunned for a long time.
"Thank you."
A thousand words were condensed into these two. They patted my shoulder, not being polite. This wasn't a Game; no one would Joke with their Life. Having an extra layer of safety was naturally the best. In their eyes, I was also one of them now, and there was no need for politeness.
Finally, because Lars was at the front, he took 50 bottles of Slightly Red Potion and 30 bottles of Slightly Blue Potion (Doug and Gus were in supporting Attack positions, so their consumption wasn't large, which is why Lars took a bit more). Doug and Gus split the rest evenly.
The three looked at each other, and all found more Confidence in each other's Gaze. With these Potions, their Success Rate increased by a few points. You see, because of the high consumption, they usually only kept about a dozen bottles of potions in their Inventory. Their "wallets" had never been as "full" as they were now.
Looking at the three of them acting as excited as country bumpkins entering the city, I was completely speechless. Just a few bottles of potions, was it worth this? Would the next Item I took out make their Hearts stop?
I coughed, making them snap out of their surprised Buff, and then took out that Belt from my Inventory.
Seeing this Belt emitting a blue Glow already made them Dumbfounded. Looking at the Attributes made them completely speechless.
Fiery Strong Sash: 3 Defense; Durability 12-12; +'% Enhanced Defense; Fire Resistance +14%
"Wu, you killed an Elite Level Monster." Lars swallowed, speaking in an Incredulous tone. This Belt was practically tailor-made for killing the Countess.
You know, even they couldn't solo the Elites in the wilderness. If it was a one-on-one fight, that would be fine, but the problem was, which Elite Level Monster didn't have minions around it?
Hehe, not Elite Level, but Minor Boss Level. I could only think these words to myself.
"Lars, put it on. If you still dare to say you're not the Countess's Opponent/Rival, acting like you're about to die, then don't expect me to acknowledge you as my Brother."
"Too, too precious, I can't accept it."
Lars murmured. Potions were okay; although Akara didn't have many, you could buy some. If it wasn't enough, you could always spend some time in the Blood Moor and gather a certain amount. While they couldn't say they could take out hundreds of bottles like me, who is so abnormal, it would Reluctantly/Barely be enough for fighting the Countess. But this Sash wasn't something you could just get. Killing dozens of Bosses might not even drop it, and its Attributes were so timely.
"Damn it, did your Brain grow grass? Or did the Sanctuary knock you silly? I already have a Belt, that's enough. I can't use this Belt's Attributes for now. Are you an idiot?"
I paused, knowing these words weren't very credible. What did I mean by 'can't use for now'? Were the Fallen Shaman's Fire Balls in the wilderness vegetarian?
"Besides, this Belt isn't for you. It's a gift for Sha La, understand? I just don't want her to lose her Dad whom she loves. Don't be so self-important. Fearing that Lars, with his stubborn Brain, still wouldn't agree, I continued."
That's right, I wasn't living just for myself now, but also for Shali and Sha La.
Lars, startled by my words, silently put away the Belt. With this Belt, the Ring that dropped last time, and some other Fire Resistance Equipment on his Body, plus stepping on the Defense Aura "Fire Resistance", his own Fire Resistance had reached over 70. The Countess's sea of fire could almost be ignored. If he still couldn't win like this, he would truly be unworthy of the noble title of Class Changer.
"Lars, bring out some of the wine brewed by Shali to celebrate." Doug was also overjoyed, saying to Lars with a fawning face.
"I knew you two guys coming to my place didn't have good intentions."
