"That's not it. The materials for the Book of Identification are easier to find. Otherwise, with so much Magic Equipment, there probably wouldn't be enough Identify Scrolls to identify them."
I thought about it, and it made sense. If Identify Scrolls were as precious as Town Portals, many people might not be able to afford identification even if they had Magic Equipment.
"Then, Lady Akara, do you still sell Identify Scrolls here?"
"Yes, there are still many," Akara said with a smile.
Identify Scrolls cost 50 Gold Coins each. I bought 10 more Identify Scrolls from Akara. I originally had 3 in the book, and used one to identify the Belt, which means I now have a total of 12 on me (a book can hold a maximum of 12[number missing in original] scrolls). 500 Gold Coins just vanished like that. But it doesn't matter; anyway, the Drop Rate for monsters is high for me. In just one Trial, I earned a full 1000-plus Gold Coins. So, although it was quite painful, I could bear it.
Just as I was about to bid farewell to Akara and leave, an unexpected person arrived.
It was a bald old man with a white beard, wearing a grey Scholar's robe, walking in with a staff as tall as himself. When he saw me, he seemed to freeze for a moment.
"This is the most outstanding Scholar in our Rogue Encampment, Di Ka, Cain. Di Ka, this is the young man I mentioned to you last time," Akara said with a chuckle, standing up.
Oh, I didn't expect this to be the legendary all-knowing Deckard Cain. Back when I first played Diablo and was still a Rookie, I used to run to him for identification to save a few Identify Scrolls, so I couldn't be more familiar with him.
"Lord Cain, hello."
I stood up and bowed to Cain. In the Game, he was a poor old man who had to be rescued from the cage by Players, but here, he is a member of the Elder Council of the Rogue Encampment, led by Akara, and one of the actual rulers of the entire Rogue Encampment.
"Hello, may I call you Wu?"
Cain smiled slightly, his eyes carrying an intellectual Aura that gave a feeling of Wisdom and profound knowledge. His gentle and refined Appearance reminded me of an old gentleman who was invited to lecture at my university when I was studying there.
"It is my Honor."
I said respectfully.
Cain sat down with a cheerful smile and asked some questions kindly. His slow and gentle tone made me unconsciously lower my guard. He truly lived up to being one of the few knowledgeable Scholars on the entire Sanctuary. Although he wasn't skilled in combat knowledge, in other areas, he could almost be said to be all-knowing, answering every question. After talking with him for just a while, I already felt greatly enlightened. If I hadn't promised Auntie Shari to go back early, I would have really wanted to chat with him for a whole day.
Akara had already divided my pile of fragments into two piles, and then handed one pile to me. This pile should be the so-called Crystal Ore. Both piles were exactly the same things; I had no idea how she separated them.
I accepted the Crystal Ore and bid farewell to Akara and Cain.
"Wait, Wu."
Just as I was about to leave, Cain suddenly called out to me.
"Wu, would you be willing to do this poor old man a favor?" Cain's expression was a little Sorrowful.
"I am willing to serve you," I narrowed my eyes and responded with half-genuine curiosity.
"Heh heh, thank you very much then."
Cain said happily.
It turned out that Cain's hometown, Tristram, a famous town of Scholars, was one of the first places attacked by the Hell Forces.
Fortunately, before the Hell Forces attacked, Cain's Family, which is Deckard Cain's family, had already known in advance and migrated to a safe place. However, Cain, who escaped from Tristram, had always missed his hometown.
Although he knew there was only one Result after being invaded by the Hell Forces, he still wanted to know the current situation of his hometown, or rather, he wanted to know to what Degree his hometown had been destroyed.
"Although I have asked a few Class Changers before, Tristram is really too far away. Walking there is not very realistic. Fortunately, there is a Waypoint in the Stony Field, but this Waypoint... (The Quest in the Game explains it, so I won't say more, but you have to go to the Dark Wood to find that Scroll.)"
Although Cain had requested many Class Changers, they all ended without success because the risk was too great and the reward too small. Treehead Woodfist, who guards that tree, is a very troublesome Mini-Boss Monster. His subordinates, the evolved Type of Giant Beast - Foul Beasts, are also not weak. To be honest, there really aren't many Parties that dare to provoke them.
And Cain's rewards were nothing more than Gold Coins and free Equipment Identification. Class Changers didn't care for Gold Coins. Free identification? It's a Joke. The Book of Identification isn't particularly expensive for Class Changers. Who, upon finding Unidentified Equipment, isn't immediately overjoyed and identifies it? Who has the patience to bring it back for you to identify?
But for me, it was a good opportunity. I could take the chance to curry favor with this old man. You know, he is one of the Elders of the Rogue Encampment! Akara definitely wouldn't hide my matters from him. If I could get his cover, I would be able to use my abilities more recklessly in the future without worrying about people suspecting me.
After saying goodbye to the two old people, I hurried back to the Lar Family's house. It was already almost noon by then, so it seemed I was destined to eat Leftovers.
Fortunately, the Kind Auntie Shari didn't blame me, and the lazy Pig Doug and the Little Loli Sha La had just woken up not long ago, so we simply ate lunch directly.
"Uncle Lars, I'm about to Depart."
All good things must come to an end. After lunch, I finally decided to continue going out for Trial.
As I was leaving, the Little Loli pulled on my Clothes with teary eyes, looking at me pitifully. That Sorrowful, sad, yet somewhat hopeful and expectant Gaze finally let me witness the legendary incredibly cute Gaze Offensive, which almost made me promise to stay and play with her for a few more days regardless of everything. Fortunately, my will was firm, and I hadn't gone too far down the path of a Lolicon. I actually managed to hold back.
"Big Brother, will you come to see Sha La again in the future?"
Sha La saw that I was unmoved by her plea and thought I might really be leaving. She lowered her head sadly, and tears blinked down.
I lovingly stroked her little Brain: "Sha La, be good. Sha La is so cute, how could Big Brother bear to leave? Big Brother promises, when I come back, I will immediately come to play with Sha La."
"Really?"
Sha La raised her red eyes and gently held up her hands to me. I took the opportunity to pick her up in one go.
She immediately gave me a light kiss on my face. Her small lips, with a slight breath, were so soft and warm that my cold heart instantly melted.
"Big Brother, please take care. Sha La will miss you every day. When Dad left, it was just like Big Brother. Sha La is so sad, waaah~~~"
Sha La finally couldn't help but cry. I was helpless in this situation. Fortunately, Shali next to me took her into her arms.
"Do well, Wu."
Lars walked up In Front of me and gently straightened my Clothes for me. This kind of warm Family Love, which I had almost forgotten, I had only experienced on my long-deceased father's Body.
"Of course, I'm the best."
I suppressed the excitement in my heart and said with Confidence.
Doug and Gus also walked over and heavily patted my shoulder. This was their best way of blessing me, uh, if only their strength could be a little lighter...
"Goodbye, everyone." I waved to everyone and strode away without looking back.
The blessing Gaze behind me, and Sha La's extremely pitiful cries, condensed into an unbreakable rope, tightly pulling at my heart.
Don't blame us for being too exaggerated, as if it were a life-and-death separation, because it might very well be a life-and-death separation.
In this world, no one can be one hundred percent Affirmative that they can return safely after going out for Trial, not even me.
I don't have absolute Confidence either. The shadow of death will be Enveloped/Covered every trial-taker, and those who care about him.
