"I know that. You have a lot of tokens too," Laxus said confidently.
Finn remained noncommittal. "That's right. It looks like we'll have to fight. Whoever falls, the other will have enough tokens."
Laxus took off his headphones, and electricity crackled around him, with a slight sparking sound…
At least, that's what Finn thought.
"I've been waiting for this, Finn," Laxus was excited, the electricity intensifying.
"Let's see who's the strongest in Fairy Tail!"
Finn tilted his head. "Besides Master, the strongest Fairy Tail mage is Gildarts. If you mean between us two…"
Finn looked at Laxus seriously. "It's definitely me!!"
"Heh, say that after surviving my lightning."
"Bring it on, Laxus!!" Finn's body glowed red, and flames erupted.
Their magical power surged, colliding, sparks flying between them.
At the island's center, Makarov and Gildarts stood before a large magical screen displaying the two mages.
"Gildarts, who do you think will win?" Makarov asked.
Gildarts sighed. "Do you really want me to say?"
Makarov shook his head, serious. "I know what you're thinking. Laxus is my grandson."
He paused. "Finn is also like a son to me. All the homeless children in the guild are. I never favor anyone."
Gildarts nodded. "I know." He looked at the sky. "Like Ivan. But he's your grandson, so you might hope Laxus wins."
Makarov shook his head. "No. I hope Finn wins. Laxus is too arrogant. Maybe failure will help him."
"Haha, you're right. Let's see who wins," Gildarts turned to the screen. The two were ready to fight.
Their magical power clashed, and falling stones signaled the start of the fight. They vanished.
The sounds of their clash echoed.
Laxus relied on lightning-fast speed, Finn on incredible strength. Their speed was too fast to see clearly.
They exchanged several blows in the blink of an eye, then returned to their starting positions.
Laxus, clutching his trembling hands, looked at Finn seriously.
Finn shook his numb hand. "This is troublesome. He's electrified."
He raised his hand, flames erupting, forming fireballs. "Try this, Laxus."
"Rain of Fire" Finn thought the name was lame, but it was powerful. After experiencing Ryūjin Jakka's power, he didn't dare use it easily.
He'd learned conventional fire magic, but it still had the same incredibly high temperature.
Fireballs rained down on Laxus, obscuring the sky and reddening his face.
Laxus's body crackled with golden electricity. He moved like lightning, dodging the fireballs.
But the fireballs were too dense.
"Boom, boom, boom" Three fireballs hit Laxus, igniting his clothes. The intense heat caused him pain.
"Damn it," Laxus tore off his burning clothes, revealing his strong muscles.
His chest tattoo was stretched and prominent.
"You're strong. You deserve to be my opponent," Laxus said softly.
"Heh, the warm-up is over. This isn't your full strength. Show me your true power, or you'll die," Laxus's muscles bulged, and his body grew taller.
"Perhaps you don't know my true power." The electricity around him intensified, scorching the grass.
Finn felt Laxus's magical power increase dramatically.
Laxus tilted his head, a golden magic circle appearing above him, his mouth filled with golden lightning.
Finn remembered Natsu.
"This is…?"
"Lightning Dragon's Roar!!" Thick lightning roared from Laxus's mouth.
Finn drew his sword. "Hitotsume: Nadegiri." Ryūjin Jakka's blade pressure cut through Laxus's roar, dissipating into electricity.
"Dragon Slayer?" Finn understood. Laxus's magic, like Natsu's, was Dragon Slayer magic.
But Laxus's was more violent.
Finn lost sight of Laxus. Sensing lightning behind him, he turned and swung Ryūjin Jakka.
"Lightning Dragon's Iron Fist."
Laxus's powerful punch was blocked by Ryūjin Jakka, but it was strong, and the electric shock was intense.
Finn felt numbness.
They separated. Laxus laughed. "You finally drew your sword. Use your full power, the power Master forbade you from using in the city."
Finn smiled. "Since you want to see it, I'll grant your wish."
He pointed his sword at the ground. Powerful magical power surged outwards. His magical power had been growing rapidly, and he didn't know how strong he was.
He thought he was still in a rapid growth phase.
Flames erupted around Finn.
"All Things in the Universe Turn to Ashes, Ryūjin Jakka!!"
Ryūjin Jakka erupted in flames, obscuring the blade. The light enveloped the island.
Trees on the nearby shore withered and burned. The entire island's forest was ablaze.
Makarov was shocked. This was the first time he'd seen Finn's power directly.
"It's hot…no, it's burning! Incredible," Even Makarov felt the intense heat.
"This kid's power is even greater than before," Gildarts felt the difference in the flames.
"He's gotten stronger."
The flames burned, engulfing the forest and reddening the sky.
Laxus's face was flushed with excitement.
"This power could cause a catastrophe, but that's why I want to defeat it," Laxus showed no fear.
Only fighting spirit.
"Lightning Dragon's Jaw!!"
Laxus raised his hand, and thunder gathered in the sky, forming a massive thundercloud.
Massive amounts of lightning struck Finn, who was engulfed in flames.
Finn held Ryūjin Jakka behind his head. As the lightning struck, he swung his sword – Nadegiri. The surrounding flames surged.
The intense flames and golden lightning collided, causing a violent explosion heard by Makarov and Gildarts.
Makarov watched the disrupted signal on the screen silently.
Gildarts patted Makarov's shoulder. He knew the Master was worried.
A large crater appeared where they'd been.
"Tsk," Laxus was unhappy that his attack was easily countered. He turned into lightning and charged at Finn.
"Dragon Slayer's Secret Art: Roaring Thunder" Laxus appeared behind Finn, raising his lightning-charged fists.
"Taimatsu!" Finn erupted in intense flames, repelling Laxus's attack.
It was incredibly hot. Laxus's body turned red from the heat.
His magical power felt sluggish.
He knew he had to finish the fight quickly or he'd be defeated.
Finn didn't back down, charging forward in flames.
"Laxus!!"
"Finn!!"
They clashed. The ground couldn't withstand the pressure and began to crumble.
Finn took Laxus's punch, blood dripping from his mouth, but Ryūjin Jakka, engulfed in flames, struck Laxus.
"Ennetsu Jigoku!!" Ryūjin Jakka's flames formed a swirling wall of fire, engulfing Laxus.
The towering fire tornado covered a kilometer radius.
"Master, if they keep fighting, this island will be destroyed," Gildarts saw the massive fire tornado and the destroyed forest. The ground seemed to be melting.
This was a natural disaster!!
"Gildarts, let's go. We need to stop them," Makarov realized the seriousness of the situation. He'd chosen a deserted island, but he'd underestimated Finn's destructive power.
