'Darkness is the clearest scene, all I see is pitch black. Then it gets blurry, as the bluest flower blooms in this darkness.'
The knight had never felt this way, the feeling of someone hammering his head followed by a feeling that molten lead was being poured in it–this was as miserable as the dark, and he wanted to scream, but he couldn't feel his throat, and so he lost his voice.
…
"Hey!"
The knight was jolted by the sudden voice as he opened his eyes.
"Are you going to stand there for the time being?" said the scholar, frustrated.
The knight was blank for a few seconds, then he muttered to himself, "Did I come back… again?"
The knight looked around, he saw the lying horses and the scholar under the rocky mountains, then he looked at his hands in which he was holding the prince's pocket and taking out the flower.
He felt his sweat on his back, a shiver ran down his spine and the phantom pain kicked in.
He didn't look any further, he closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and screamed out his lungs.
"Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!"
And he started vomiting,
"Knight! What the hell?!"
The scholar was caught off guard by this, he stood immediately and ran towards the prince at their parallel in fear and shock.
"Why am I here again? What just happened?" muttered the prince, who was utterly dumbfounded.
The scholar heard his muttering and walked towards him.
When he reached there, he saw another confusing scene, the prince had dropped the slumber flower on the ground and he had covered his face with both his arms as though he had just seen something horrifying.
The prince saw the scholar and took out his sword, he then stood on the rocks and screamed out while pointing the sword at the scholar, "Stay away! Don't come any closer!"
The scholar, who was flabbergasted by this, couldn't mutter a word. The prince then jumped furiously at the scholar making him scream, "Ahh! Stop! you bloody idiot!!"
…
Once things calmed down a bit, and both the knight and the prince regained senses, the scholar sat with them in a triangle near the horses for discussion.
He had folded his arms and was thinking something with eyes closed, the prince was making circles on the sand with a rock and the knight was looking at the scholar, waiting for him to start the conversation.
The knight had kept his helmet on his lap and the prince's lap was occupied by the slumber flower.
The scholar, silent for a moment, slowly opened his mouth, "What happened to you both?" he asked in a calm tone.
…
…
Nobody said a word. They couldn't speak because the experience was horrifying.
Both of them were in deep thoughts on the things that had just happened.
The prince's thoughts were jumbled up, 'What just happened, why am I back here, what just happened to me?' he was confused.
On the other hand, the knight had an enlightenment, the fog in his mind cleared up completely, his mind was as sharp as ever which made him rather calm.
'I guess being hunted by a scavenger is the matter of least importance right now,' he thought, because he had more things to think about and now he could think about them properly, he could now use his head to solve problems, finally.
He first thought about the slumber flower, 'The box is somehow related to me getting resurrected'
He had his doubts about this matter, but he kept this as a hypothesis to discuss in the future, when he gets more information about it.
'The reason I am here, maybe it's because of this slumber flower.' he thought while staring at the slumber flower in the prince's hand. When he first found himself in this place, that box was near him, thinking about it, he made an assumption,
'These two know me from before, maybe I was not just summoned here, but my memory from before was erased, and in that case, the main suspect is the slumber flower!'
It made sense at the moment, and that made it terrifying.
'The slumber flower… maybe this box devoured my memories and put them to slumber?... What the hell?'
It sounded weird, but he decided to investigate the matter after resolving the problem at hand.
And the problem at hand was the man with dirty teeth and the foreign artifact. That man had deep blue eyes and black hair, and he was twice as big as him. His 'weapon' was far more dangerous than a sword, and the knight couldn't figure what it did. All he heard was a click, followed by the sound of fierce thunder, and he was on the ground. 'That thing, it was probably made of metal, but I had never seen such a weapon–when he clicked something on that curved handle, maybe it released thunder at me?' pondered the knight.
'I was going to lose my consciousness after the first attack but that damn piece of rock…'
he didn't think any further, since it was all pain.
He then looked at the prince,
'This guy–why is he acting like this, was he also resurrected with me? But he died before me—does it only work when I die?'
He decided to break the silence, "Prince… Do you remember what happened with that scavenger?"
The prince, who was staring at the growling horses, shifted his gaze towards the knight almost immediately. "Wait—do you remember what had happened previously?"
The knight met his gaze.
"I remember dying."
