Before the blood could hit the ground, Russell had already vanished. When he reappeared, he was pulling the stroller with one hand and carrying the mother with the other, swiftly relocating them to safety.
"My baby—!!"
The mother reached out in despair, still screaming—until she suddenly realized the ground beneath her feet had changed. The stroller was right beside her.
"Thank you!"
Looking at the young man in the hoodie standing beside her, she quickly realized what had happened. A superhero had saved her.
Tears of joy streamed down her face as she clutched her child tightly, repeatedly expressing her gratitude.
"No need to thank me."
Waving his hand, Russell vanished again in the blink of an eye. As a streak of light, he zipped through the battlefield, relocating civilians who hadn't managed to escape.
It took him less than half a second to transport several hundred people.
"What just happened? Where did everyone go?"
In a flash, the entire plaza emptied, leaving the young heroes of the Teen Team—including Atom Eve—completely baffled.
WHOOSH!
Russell sprinted around the alien army at high speed, stirring up a fierce wind. His figure, clad in a gray hoodie, blurred into motion. In mere moments, a massive gray tornado dozens of meters in diameter had formed.
The temperature plummeted, the wind howled, and even the white clouds overhead were torn apart. The members of the Teen Team gaped in astonishment and instinctively backed away.
The massive tornado, reaching from sky to ground, devoured the screaming alien soldiers, sweeping them up along with shattered glass, manhole covers, streetlamps, and debris. Inside the violent vortex, they were pulverized like flesh in a colossal grinder.
Even several of the aliens' high-tech vehicles weren't spared—they too were dragged into the storm.
"Go back to your own dimension!"
Guiding the vortex with his movement, Russell steered the storm toward the portal. The alien reinforcements waiting on the other side screamed as they were sucked into the whirlwind.
With a terrifying force suddenly wiping out their troops, the alien commander—terrified Russell would charge through—frantically shut down the dimensional portal.
"Is it... over just like that?"
As the wind slowly subsided, Duplicate Kate stood frozen, stunned by the apocalyptic force she'd just witnessed, her mouth hanging open.
"A speedster… According to Earth's database, only Red Rush has shown this level of speed—but this guy's height and build are different. Who is he?"
The robot scanned Russell's back with a curious tone in his electronic voice.
"You don't have to tell us—we've already figured it out.
He's not Red Rush. He's not wearing the signature suit."
Leaning casually on the robot's shoulder, Rex Splode grinned with his usual cocky attitude.
"We really owe this guy," Atom Eve said with a furrowed brow. "That alien horde was like an endless swarm—we were barely holding them off."
"She's right. According to my analysis, without this man, even without further alien reinforcements, we would've suffered at least 360 to 400 additional civilian casualties.
Some of us may have been in danger too," the robot added seriously.
[Conquest Points +3]
[Conquest Points +7]
[Conquest Points +11…]
"So many Conquest Points… Is it because they were given by actual superheroes instead of ordinary people? Or because they're from main story characters?"
After wiping out the alien army, Russell was surprised at the amount of Conquest Points gained.
Each instance wasn't a huge number…
But back in boxing class, cleanly knocking down a few rookie students had only earned him fractions of a point.
Now, he had enough to permanently solidify the strength of nearly a hundred ordinary-person templates into his body.
"Hey…"
The members of the Teen Team were about to approach and greet Russell—
WHOOSH!
"FREEZE, ALIEN SCUM!"
A blue-and-yellow figure shot across the sky, shattering windows with a sonic boom. He stopped midair, struck a heroic pose, and shouted sternly.
But then he blinked in confusion—there wasn't a single alien in sight.
"Cousin, where are the aliens?" Mark turned to the only familiar face he saw.
Though Russell wore a mask, Mark recognized him immediately from the hoodie—his cousin.
"It's over," Russell said, arms crossed, glancing back at the late-arriving Mark.
"Over? But… wasn't it supposed to be a whole alien army?"
Mark widened his eyes in confusion.
He had only taken five or six seconds to rush home and change into his suit—yet the entire alien army had already been dealt with?
Because he wasn't yet skilled with his powers, he avoided flying too fast through the city for fear that the sonic booms he created would do more harm than the invaders.
"Hey, you're this cool guy's cousin? You two are cousins with powers?"
Rex Splode gave Mark a wave. "That's awesome. I always wanted a superpowered brother growing up—never got one though."
"I'm Robot. You both look young and show outstanding ability. Would you like to join the Teen Team?"
As the leader of the four-member squad, Robot approached with a formal tone.
"We're a team composed entirely of teenage superheroes."
"Hi! I'm Invincible!"
Flustered at receiving a superhero team's invitation for the first time, Mark quickly introduced himself.
"Invincible? That name…" Rex Splode's lips twitched. "Dude, seriously? That's so cringe. What made you go with that?"
Short-haired Kate stifled a laugh behind her hand.
Since Russell had wiped out the alien army so fast, Mark arrived too late to show off any of his Viltrumite strength. Combined with his slightly goofy demeanor…
His carefully chosen hero name suddenly came off as something a geeky teen would use in a comic book.
Even Atom Eve's expression grew a little awkward.
Only the cold, mechanical Robot remained expressionless.
"Haha… ha…" Mark could only laugh awkwardly.
"Mark, now that we both have powers, how about a friendly spar? Let's see who's stronger."
Just then, Russell raised an eyebrow and looked at his cousin, who had just been teased.
"Of course!"
Mark's eyes lit up.
Around his stern father, he never felt comfortable—but sparring with his cousin would definitely help him get used to his powers. Plus, he was very curious about Russell's abilities.
It seemed like his cousin had single-handedly taken out that entire alien army.
"A spar?"
The Teen Team exchanged looks.
This hoodie-wearing masked guy had power like a walking natural disaster—yet this seemingly naïve kid was going to fight him?
Had they misjudged him?
"Sorry, we'll be leaving now."
Russell raised a hand as a casual farewell and vanished on the spot, leaving only a fading afterimage.
Mark took to the skies and quickly followed.
"They're both so fast…"
The others had wanted to watch the fight for fun, but in the blink of an eye, both were gone—like they'd teleported.
"Very fast indeed…"
Staring at the sky in the direction Russell had flown, Atom Eve's pupils narrowed slightly.
She could still keep up with Invincible's speed.
But his "cousin"?
She could barely track the blur of his departure.
