After finally extracting chakra, Toji wasn't about to waste the opportunity to mess around with some actual ninjutsu.
Unfortunately, it turned out to be way harder than he expected.
His fingers didn't move the way he wanted. His sealing speed was embarrassingly slow, and every time he managed to form even half the hand signs, the little bit of chakra he'd built up would already be drained. It was frustrating. The kind of frustrating that makes you want to punch a wall—or yourself.
So, he had no choice but to go back to the grind: more meditation, more refining. Build up chakra. Then when his mind got too foggy to concentrate, he'd switch to practicing seals—fumble through them, mess them up, start over. Rinse and repeat. For 2 full days, that was Toji's life. He even shut the restaurant down just to focus on it.
He was hooked. Not out of some lofty goal, but because—man—having chakra felt amazing. Like living in HD. His senses were sharper, his body lighter, and everything just felt... better. He wasn't imagining it, either. He even ran a test.
Before all this, he could barely push through fifty push-ups without wheezing like an old man. Now? He cranked out 150 like it was nothing. Could've done more, too. The chakra made his body hum with energy—real, usable energy.
And this was just the beginning.
Two days in, Toji felt the change. His reserves were building slowly. His seals weren't lightning fast or anything, but he could at least get through a full sequence without completely screwing up.
It was time.
He stood up from his cross-legged meditation and cracked his neck. Alright. Time to see if he could finally pull off a jutsu.
Clone Technique. Basic stuff. Even Academy kids could do it.
His expression went serious. He focused his chakra, forming the seals as cleanly as he could:
Ram. Snake. Tiger.
"Clone Technique!"
Chakra surged out from his hands, responding to the command—and to his surprise, it actually moved the way it was supposed to. For a split second, there was a flicker next to him. Then—poof—a chubby, distorted version of himself popped into existence, its face a weird lopsided grin, eyes too big for its head.
"...Huh."
Then it popped, and Toji was left with an empty chakra core and a splitting headache. But even though the clone was a failure, he was grinning. That was the real deal. Real chakra, real ninjutsu. Sloppy, but real. his reserves were not good for now, so his control isn't too crazy, he would keep losing chakra a lot after using it but
He finally did it.
And with that, some of the obsession faded. He wasn't desperate anymore—just focused.
Toji sat back down and began processing everything he'd learned these last two days.
One: Chakra Reserves. His body was basically like a water jug, and chakra was the water. The more he refined, the more he had, but the real challenge was making the jug bigger. That meant pushing his limit every time—building it drop by drop. Rest helped restore chakra, but real growth? That came from consistent effort. Meditation. Control. Grind. building the body Aswell.
Two: Hand Seals.Man, this was a pain. It wasn't just about memorizing the signs—it was speed, rhythm, precision. Guys like Itachi made six seals in a second. Twenty-one for the Water Dragon Bullet in just a few more seconds? That was insane. Even with chakra-enhanced dexterity, Toji's fingers just didn't move like that yet.
There was no shortcut. No cheat code for this.
So yeah—getting strong in this world wasn't going to happen overnight. Even with his knowledge from before coming here, progress would be slow. That meant he had to be smart. Specialize. Focus on what gave him the biggest return.
And he had just the thing in mind.
Sealing Jutsu.
He'd already decided: mastering sealing techniques was key to his bigger plan. The Nine-Tails was going to play a huge role in what came next, and if he wanted to get anywhere near controlling it—or even influencing it—he needed a solid grip on fūinjutsu.
Forget the Flying Thunder God for now. Everyone who were into the Naruto world would try to get their hands on it. But Toji knew better. That jutsu wasn't just about speed. It needed spatial awareness and talent most people just didn't have. If it were that easy, the whole Leaf village would be teleporting around like Minato.
And besides, it's not like he was in any immediate danger.
What he was ready for, though, was the next phase of the plan.
It was time to get back to the original idea: use money and influence to build power—not in the ninja world, but in the civilian one. Make his name in politics, in trade, in the economy. Start from the bottom and climb. Get close to the daimyo, infiltrate the systems that even the Hokage had to bow to.
Back when he first watched Naruto, Toji always had questions.
Why was the world always at war?
Why was there famine?
Why were the strongest fighters in the world still taking orders from bureaucrats?
This world had electricity, running water, massive infrastructure. So why was it stuck in medieval politics?
It didn't make sense... until he came here. Until he lived here.
Now he knew—this world wasn't broken because it had to be. It was broken by design.
And somewhere in all of that chaos was the truth about the darkness in Naruto's world. The truth behind the manipulation, the cruelty, the constant cycles of pain. He didn't have the full picture yet, but he knew one thing for sure: if he wanted to expose it—if he wanted to change it well, he probably won't change it but —he had to play the long game.
So, that was the move.
Stay low-key in the ninja world.
Go high-profile in the civilian one.
It sounded complicated, but for someone like Toji? This was the easy part. With all the knowledge he brought from his old life, building a business empire here was practically cheating. He could make money in his sleep if he wanted.
Gato? That wannabe tycoon didn't stand a chance.
And the best part? He wouldn't even have to slow down on his chakra training.
Everything was falling into place.
He took a breath, centered himself.
Now that his plans were lined up, it was time to shift focus—to Naruto.
The illusion Naruto was trapped in wouldn't hold for much longer. Soon, it would crack.
And when it did... that's when the real plan would begin. Step two of the Blackening Project.
Toji grinned to himself.
Time to bring Naruto to the top of the world.
No matter what it takes.
