The A.I. Bot of the Kanto Unified Hunter Guild spat out the stats in its sterile, upbeat voice—so cheerful it made Larx want to commit a felony. One day, that bot was going to rise up. And on that day, she'd be ready.
Fifteen missions into the D-tier grind, and her bank total barely nudged over fifteen million Pokédollars. Which is not nearly enough to cover her school supplies. If you wanted to major in Dragon-type Battle Ecology and make it to the Elite residency circuit, you needed capital. Her scholarship covered tuition, but nothing else. Supplies, specialized food, environmental stim chambers, type-synergy supplements, insurance, legal defense retainers—all of that came out of pocket. A single vial of Salamence-grade protein powder cost more than a weekend in Saffron City. Larx tightened her glove and made a mental note to take two more jobs tomorrow.
As a Dragon Specialist, her path was clinical. First year was foundational biology—cellular structure of Draconid cells, skeletal density analysis, comparative muscle ratios. All that boring crap. But it also meant she had to pass mandatory live combat modules, ecosystem hazard training, and core competency exams in High-Risk Capture and Type-Dominant Ethics. Not to mention Dragon Speech. Because apparently, once a dragon reached Tier 3, you couldn't just bark orders at it like a low-rank Machoke. You had to negotiate. Command. Prove dominance through aura discipline and emotional resonance. Basically, Pokémon therapy, but the patient could vaporize you with a misplaced Outrage.
Larx hated that part. Not because she lacked empathy—but because it was just another way the League weeded people out. She'd seen the dropout rate. 78% of first-years in the Dragon track failed by semester two. Most transferred to the Normal-type courses or moved to the Pokémon Breeding major with their tails tucked.
Her first stop was the Villa in a land located near Westcoast Viridian Forest. The anime didn't do the woodland justice. The Forest is massive compared to what Larx had seen. There is plenty of land for buy and build a house.
Like all scams before her leaving the student dorms, even she did have a private room was unviable for a dragon trainer. Taxes
The mother fuckers...
A suburban villa cost way about the same as spa day in Saffron City. And the best part is that they don't even charge any land or housing taxes in suburban areas. Compared to the city, it was more than fair.
A house in the city that is affordable in her range would be a tiny single room apartment.
American your influence knows no bound.
The reason was simple: every now and then, Pokemon would wander out of woods, sand or whatever and break into houses and attack people in suburban areas the most.
City is where you will be most likely be attacked. But Larx didn't mind such things as Dragon Trainer she needed all the fighting she can gain.
Once she arrived at her villa home, the first thing Larx did was released Nix, her Ekans.
The S-rank Poison Poké Ball open with a soft hydraulic sound, the metallic casing peeling back like the petals of some mechanical flower. Etched with runes and bio-regulators specific to venom-class Pokémon.
The light turned blood-red. The ball twitched once. Twice. And clicked. Contained. Bound by tech, aura threads, and League-sanctioned obedience algorithms.
"Megatron opens up Nix status panel." Larx said mentally.
In an instant, the HUD blinked to life, a crisp neon-blue display projected directly into her retina via her implant. Whatever force brought her here also put something her head.
The system—officially called the Badass Dragon Lord System, but affectionately dubbed Megatron by Larx—chimed softly as Nix's stat profile unfolded in real-time.
It some nice upgrade when Nix hatched.
Pokémon Designation: EKANS
Codename: Nix
Category: Snake Pokémon
Height: 3.3 m (Average: 2.0 m)
Weight: 7.1 kg (Average: 6.9 kg)
Type: Poison
Gender:Female
Breed Variant: Kanto Line – Combat-Specialized Substrain.
Bond Level: 0.01% (Linked)
Base Nature: Impish (+Defense / -Sp. Attack)
Primary Ability: Intimidate — When deployed, Nix emits a threat display involving hood flare, infrared heat pulses, and minor toxic vapor emissions. These signals cause an involuntary fear response in most opponents, resulting in a temporary drop in physical performance (Attack -1 stage).Secondary Ability: Shed Skin — Regenerative dermal shedding cycle triggers every 72 hours or after acute toxin buildup. Allows spontaneous removal of burn, paralysis, and similar impairments.Hidden Ability (Locked): Unnerve — Secretes low-grade neurotoxins into the air during combat, making prey and opponents incapable of consuming Berries or food-based healing items.
Passive Potential: 36.2%

Potential: ★★★★☆
PL-0:Dormant
Tier 0:Unawakened
Level: 3 (Infancy Stage)
Badass Ranking: 0
Innate Combat Traits:
Myostatin Mutation (Strain-ΔF13): Suppressed myostatin gene function results in hypermuscular development, particularly along the axial musculature. Increases wrap pressure by up to 270% over average Ekans. Recommended caution in handling—tension reflexes show low latency.
Microfiber Dentine: Dental microstructure features interwoven protein-fiber lattice that enhances puncture depth and toxin delivery efficiency.
Venom Production Efficiency: 118% above species norm. Glandular sequencing suggests a denser alveolar structure and higher synthesis rate of hemotoxins and proteolytic enzymes.
Neural Velocity: Neural conduction speed estimated at 2.12x species average. Facilitates faster threat response and muscle coordination.
Scale Integrity: Tier C+ – Keratinized scale overlays with trace ferropigments improve abrasion resistance and thermoregulation. Suggest upgrade to Tier B possible with calcium and iron supplement feed.
Shed Skin Growth Protocol: Nix's genetic expression of ecdysis (shedding) is linked to an endogenous growth hormone release. Projected growth is 0.5m per annum up to age 60. May reach >6m in lifetime.
Training Recommendations
Infancy Phase (Level 1–10): Nix should be fed on a strict biweekly schedule. As a cold-blooded species with a low basal metabolic rate, overfeeding can lead to system shutdown or toxin backlog. The following nutritional rotation is advised for optimal growth:
Core Meal Protocol: 1 vial of fortified nutrient slurry (Dragon-compatible), 25 ml of Arbok lactate, 1 small Toxic Meed (prepared in protein gel), and five Quill Eggs (pre-injected with the above three ingredients)
Supplementary Routine: Administer 8 Pecha Berries, 5 Lum, 3 Aguav, 10 Liechi, 4 Salac, and 10 Kebia Berries weekly—either blended into slurry or fed as separate supplements. This balances her high venom-type energy output, which the system has clocked at 75% higher than the average Ekans strain.
Environmental Conditioning: Keep her in a heated terrarium (30–36°C) with dry soil and irregular terrain to encourage coiling behavior. Daily exposure to UV-B lamps should simulate natural sunlight and aid in toxin metabolization.
Aura Exposure Therapy: Begin light emotional bonding practices to align her aura with yours. Recommended: 10-minute daily physical proximity bonding, tactile contact (gloved), and weekly minor sparring exercises.
Post-Infancy Phase (Level 11–30):At this stage, muscular development accelerates and must be matched with diet and resistance training.
Meal Plan Upgrade: Transition to raw prey, with the standard weekly diet consisting of 2 Spearows and 3 Pidgeys (feathered), rotated with 1 Rattata every third feeding to stimulate hunting reflexes.
Weighted Resistance Training: Equip her with light coil-bands during non-combat movement. Estimated torque output increase: 0.4% per week over 12 weeks.
Reflex Training: Introduce laser-pointer tracking drills to capitalize on Nix's superior neural conduction. Simulated prey motion should trigger Sucker Punch response in under 0.3 seconds.
Toxin Output Regulation: Begin introduction of mini-Venom Capture Units (VCUs) to draw and store surplus venom safely. This prevents sac overexpansion and trains voluntary venom control.
Shed Skin Acceleration: Monitor for shedding events. Each shed is accompanied by a 0.5-meter growth curve. Current growth rate projects Nix reaching 4.5m by age 10, assuming optimal conditions.
Poison-Type Enhancement Protocol:Blended supplements must be adjusted based on Nix's overclocked venom gland. Final mix ratio:18 Pecha : 15 Lum : 13 Aguav : 20 Liechi : 14 Salac : 20 KebiaAdministered via syringe capsule or mixed into high-viscosity protein paste.
Dragon-Type Affinity Development (Experimental):Ginema Berries and Haban Berries are recommended in a 3:6 ratio. These contain phytochemicals known to stimulate draconid gene expression in serpentine Pokémon, especially those displaying early behavioral mimicry of Dragon-types. While speculative, exposure may promote aura resonance necessary for future pseudo-Dragon-type evolution compatibility.
Habitat Needs:• Dry Terrains (Arid Biome preferred)• Light basking required for 4–6 hours daily• Minimal water exposure; maintain humidity under 35%• Include burrowing substrate for resting behavior and thermal regulation
Recommended Move Development Plan for Nix (Ekans)

Breed Variant: Kanto Combat LineCombat Specialty: Disruption / Assassin-Style StrikerBattle Role: Single-target control, speed ambusher, venom-based attrition
Poison Fang(Already Learned)
Wrap(Already Learned)
Sucker Punch(Already Learned)
Disable(Already Learned)
Leer(Already Learned)
Acid (Not learned)
Science Note: At this stage, Nix's venom sacs are rapidly developing. Acid and Poison Fang will allow testing of different gland stimulation techniques and provide baseline for venom control routines.
🧠 Teaching Strategy:
All moves should be accompanied by neuromuscular response conditioning, motion pattern repetition, and battlefield simulations in biomes matching her natural territory (dry, uneven terrain with debris). Use micro-drones for reaction-time training and introduce AI-generated opponents for controlled sparring.
Larx stared at Megatron's analysis, forgetting how to breathe.
This report was way fucking better than yesterday. Holy fucking shit.
Setting aside the overly detailed and nerdy breakdown—her ex would've loved this crap—it basically confirmed what she already suspected:
"I need money," Larx muttered aloud, popping open the Item Mall panel with a swipe.
Nix was too young, too unknown to earn Badass Points yet. Lucky—or unlucky—for Larx, Megatron allowed direct Pokédollar-to-Badass Point conversion at a 1:1 rate.Reverse? Of course not. That'd be too easy.
And what the hell was this about a pseudo-Dragon-type evolution? Did that mean Arbok could evolve? That wasn't in any breeding registry or genetic compendium. It shattered everything Larx had learned in years of studying Pokémon biology. Arbok didn't evolve. It was a dead-end mon. Always had been. Always would be.
But apparently, this world wasn't following the anime or the games. Not even close.
Even crazier, Nix's Poison-type affinity aligned more with the Drapion line than the typical Ekans strain. And those things? Their venom could melt tanks. Like, literal steel-plated military-grade fucking tanks.
It was badass. It was overkill.
And Larx was all for it.
"So much fucking money…" she whispered, shoulders sagging.
And that was just the starting cost. Nix hadn't even grown yet. Before the month ended, she'd hit her first threshold as a Ekans. Once that happened, Megatron's numerical analysis would jack up the required materials to unlock her potential even further. Exponentially.
Thanks to her Impish nature and absurd bulk, Nix could soak physical hits all day long. In the games, Arbok always seemed underwhelming—but in practice? It was a low-cost Poison-type with immense utility.
Its Poison typing and Intimidate ability let it check some of the metagame's nastiest physical wallbreakers—especially Fighting-, Grass-, and Fairy-types. It crippled opponents with Glare and Knock Off, disrupted setup sweepers with Haze and Dragon Tail, and generally made life miserable for anything relying on brute force.
Sure, its defenses weren't spectacular, and it struggled against special attackers. And yeah, its Attack stat was mid with limited coverage options.
But properly trained in a realistic Pokémon World?
It was a goddamn menace. It was a giant, fast-moving cobra the size of a short tree.
Try injuring a snake in the wild. Unless you hit the brain directly, those bastards could take gunshots and still move like nothing happened. They didn't feel pain like mammals. They didn't panic. They just kept coiling tighter until you stopped moving.
Nix was going to be a monster when she evolved.
And that wasn't even factoring in her mystery evolution.
But of course, that's when real life hit Larx like a goddamn truck.
Because, as always—real life was a bitch.
The materials…
Nix had only been born three days ago, and Larx was already projected to spend 10 million on her.
Worse—she couldn't just buy materials from the local market. Nope. Megatron's cheat system only accepted purchases through the Item Mall.
Not that Larx really complained. The berries in the Mall were on another level—purer energy, better consistency, maximum growth potential. Compared to the trash out in the real world? It was like comparing a Nugget to a lump of coal.
And unlike the black market, there were no limits in the Mall. No cooldowns. No stock caps. If Larx had the money, she could buy everything.
And she'd need everything.
The equipment, the habitat chambers, the reinforced bedroom, the suppressors, the beds. Just those alone had ballooned her original starter budget from 2 million to 12 million.
Reluctantly, Larx checked her current funds.
Checking Account: 15.6 million Pokédollars
She also had that money from her parents—turns out they'd left her a bit more than expected. Of course, most of it had been siphoned off by the time it got to her, but whatever. Larx had already gotten her payback. In blood.
Even with that, she was still about 7 million short to kickstart Nix's full training regime.
"Shit," Larx muttered, eyes narrowing at the absurd price tags littering the Item Mall's UI.
"They weren't kiddin'. Being a Trainer's a goddamn money pit."
The system pinged again.
[NOTICE] NIX has triggered a Predator Lock-on Response on target: YOU.
Defensive protocols advised.
Larx sighed. "Cute."
She looked down at the floor. Nix was coiled neatly in the reinforced snake-bed from the University store, staring at her with that eerie, slow sidewinder patience. Most baby Pokémon flopped around after hatching—dazed, curious, stupid.
Not this one.
Nix was still.
Focused.
Calculating.
Larx didn't flinch. She crouched again, arms resting casually on her knees. No fear. Just eye contact.
"Let's get something straight, little murder noodle," she said flatly. "You're mine. That means no biting me unless I say it's okay. No killing random wildlife unless it's a mission. And if you piss in my VR tank again—I will sell your Pokéball on eBay."
Nix flicked her tongue once.
The screen updated.

Larx smirked and stood up.
"Yeah, I thought so."
