Chapter 49 - 49. Prelude to Father and Daughter Re-match

The Blackened Isekai Anime Heroine – Chapter 49

Author: Gemini no Ling

That kind of poison was called loneliness.

And now, the two standing beside him… were they the same as him? His kind?

"Tch, don't be ridiculous. This isn't a pity contest. So what if we're the same? If you're not strong enough to keep up with me, we'll part ways—shared suffering or not."

Hinata casually blew on her fingernails and shook her head, unimpressed.

"But I will admit, there is one thing I'm rather thankful for tonight. Know what it is?"

Her white eyes gleamed with a chilling glint under the moonlight.

"It's that I don't need to make excuses anymore. You... are the perfect scapegoat for the village."

Mizuki's smug grin froze on his face.

His eyes widened in disbelief—as if he were watching some monster reveal its true form.

---

The night wind rustled the trees.

A few leaves fluttered to the ground.

And then—silence, broken only by the lingering stench in the air.

Mizuki's limp body slumped to the ground.

His arms dangled uselessly.

His face was held aloft by a gloved hand gripping his cheek, suspending him like a dead fish.

His skin was blackened beyond recognition.

He'd soiled himself, clearly beaten to the point of unconsciousness and beyond.

Hinata simply held him there, her white eyes devoid of emotion, as if searching for something on his ruined body.

Iruka stood frozen.

He'd seen it all with his own eyes.

How in less than thirty seconds, Mizuki had been turned into a smoking ruin by a girl who, until recently, was known for being gentle and timid.

"…Tch."

Sasuke let out a low scoff from the side, clearly displeased that Hinata had stolen his punching bag.

Naruto hesitated, then walked over and helped Iruka to his feet, his tone pained.

"I'm sorry, Iruka-sensei… Let's get you to the hospital."

Naruto's voice pulled Hinata back to herself.

She tossed Mizuki's body aside like a bag of trash.

Though her face remained cold, that chill was clearly a mask—for beneath it, she was affected.

She'd lost control.

She knew Mizuki had only mocked the

original Hinata, not her—but still, the memories she inherited had surfaced, and they burned.

Being forced to remember someone else's pain… someone else's humiliation… yeah, that was infuriating alright.

She turned on her heel and spoke coldly.

"That's enough. Iruka-sensei, the real traitor has been dealt with. Naruto, take Iruka to the hospital. Sasuke and I will head home. If anything comes up, you can find us."

Iruka smiled faintly through the pain.

"Don't worry, Hinata, Sasuke, Naruto. You're all children of the village. This wasn't your fault. You'll be okay."

Even now, he tried to protect them.

That's what made him the greatest teacher in Konoha's history—he taught more future elites than anyone else.

Naruto and Sasuke both relaxed at his reassurance.

Even Hinata felt oddly soothed?

She turned and left the forest first.

After all, she'd gotten the biggest reward tonight.

The village was peaceful the next morning.

Most citizens remained blissfully unaware of what had happened the night before.

"Mizuki's medical report just came in. Severe facial burns reaching the left eye. Multiple rib fractures. Spinal damage. Doctors say he'll be wheelchair-bound for life."

The Third Hokage held the report, his face unusually grim.

"It's hard to believe. Mizuki was one of the top-performing chunin… but he lost so completely to those kids."

Konoha's elite jōnin were gathered in the Hokage's office.

Kakashi stood among them.

"No. Not 'those kids'," a cold voice corrected.

"Only Hyuga Hinata acted. Mizuki was defeated by her alone."

That voice belonged to Morino Ibiki—the intimidating, scar-riddled leader of Konoha's interrogation unit.

His presence was enough to unsettle even other jōnin.

"Oho~ how interesting. A student who hasn't even graduated yet took down a chunin solo? Sounds like a prodigy to me. Burn wounds? Was it a Fire Release? Explosive tags?"

The speaker was Mitarashi Anko, known as the most dangerous woman in Konoha.

She stood beside Kurenai, her spiky ponytail and fishnet-lined coat giving her a wild, seductive edge.

"No. Taijutsu. And not just any taijutsu."

Ibiki's robotic tone made the room fall silent.

Even Anko's eyebrow twitched.

Then she smirked, her gaze shifting to a quiet man in the corner.

"A Hyuga, huh? Figures. But what kind of taijutsu leaves burn wounds?"

All eyes turned to the man in question—Hyuga Hiashi, Clan head of Hyūga.

Father to Hinata and Hanabi.

He stood calmly in traditional robes, white eyes unreadable.

"Hiashi, no need to be nervous. You've heard what happened. Mizuki turned traitor, and your daughter subdued him. We just want to know—was the technique she used part of the Hyuga's Gentle Fist?"

The Third Hokage gestured for an ANBU to hand over Mizuki's injury photos.

Hiashi gave them a quick glance, then shook his head.

"No. The Gentle Fist inflicts internal damage. These injuries are external, caused by blunt trauma. This is not a Hyuga technique."

"I request permission to interrogate Hyuga Hinata," Ibiki said at once, stepping forward.

"This kind of unknown taijutsu must be investigated. An academy student shouldn't be able to defeat a chunin."

"I object," Kurenai said flatly.

"She just protected the village. She's a student. Interrogating her would tarnish the village's sense of justice."

"I agree," Anko chimed in.

"She's a badass kid. And Ibiki, your interrogation methods scare the truth out of people who don't even know it."

Most of the other jōnin wisely stayed out of the debate.

"I understand both sides," the Third said calmly.

"But let's leave it. Ibiki, question Mizuki. Find out his true motives. Everyone else, dismissed."

The jōnin began to leave in pairs.

But as Hiashi walked out alone, his face was darker than ever.

Even if the Hokage was letting it go, Hiashi couldn't.

Not when his supposedly worthless daughter had defeated a seasoned chunin before even graduating.

It was time to reevaluate Hyuga Hinata.

In the quiet Hyuga courtyard, Hinata sat alone at her desk.

She had stayed home today to await possible questioning.

But she wasn't idle.

Nope—she was revising her martial arts scroll.

Whatever the original reason behind the "Nanto Seven Sacred Fist" style was, its power was undeniable.

The theory was laughably simple:

Train your body hard + use chakra-boosted Holy Fist gauntlets + apply standard taijutsu moves = Nanto Seven Sacred Fist.

Basically, it was just elemental chakra-enhanced taijutsu that required gear to perform.

Zero complexity.

All hardware-based.

The perfect technique for rich, grind-heavy players in a gacha game—where money and time beat natural talent every time.

Train for a month and maybe get stronger.

Buy gear and you're strong now.

Hinata chuckled darkly as she held up her newly written training scroll.

The Flame-Killing Fist had proven itself.

Mizuki hadn't even survived one full hit.

If she hadn't reined in the chakra at the last second…

His head might have boiled like an egg.
