Episode 19: The Bone Wolf's Howl

The Bone Wolf crouched, muscles tensing beneath blood-soaked fur. Its wings cracked like dry thunder.
Lucien stepped in front of Evelyn.
"No," she said, touching his arm. "This one's mine."
He hesitated—but stepped back.
Evelyn walked forward, every step sparking lightning beneath her feet.
The Bone Wolf snarled, wind slicing around its fangs.
"You're no queen," it growled. "You're a mistake."
She smiled bitterly. "Then let's see what a mistake can do."

The wolf lunged.
Evelyn raised her hands, summoning a wall of thunder — it shattered on impact.
She flew backward, crashing into the ruins of a fallen tower.
Lucien shouted, but she rose, blood on her lips.
She wasn't done.
She closed her eyes—and whispered an ancient name.
The storm inside her answered.

Wind screamed.
The sky turned purple with rage.
She launched into the air, lightning lashing from her fingertips.
She dove like a comet — straight into the wolf's chest.
The explosion shook the ground.
When the smoke cleared…
The Bone Wolf howled in pain, one wing scorched, bones melting like wax.
But it wasn't done.
It opened its mouth—and released a wave of soulfire.
Evelyn's shield shattered.
She fell, knees buckling.
The wolf charged.

Just before its jaws could close around her—
A sword drove through its ribs.
Lucien.
"I told you I had your back," he said.
The wolf reared, shrieking.
Lucien held on as Evelyn rose again, her hands glowing white-blue.
She slammed them into the earth.
"Stormbinding — Final Call."
Lightning erupted from the ground, swirling into a tornado of pure light.
The Bone Wolf screamed—then cracked into shards of bone and vanished in ash.

The battlefield fell silent.
Evelyn dropped to her knees, shaking.
Lucien caught her. "You did it."
"No," she said weakly, staring at the sky. "We did."

Far away, in the shadows of Seraphina's court, a mirror shattered.
"She's stronger than I thought," the queen whispered.
The priest beside her trembled. "We… we still have the child."
Seraphina's eyes gleamed. "Then let's remind her what it feels like to lose."

A beast destroyed.
