Chapter 32 - Chapter 32 - I've Been Waiting Since 2008

————————————————————————

[Nagami]: By the way, Accelerator, after you trashed the lab last time, didn't Aleister come after you?

[Accelerator]: Thanks to this chat group, it seems that guy changed his plans for me a bit.

————————————————————————

Nagami had come to realize that Accelerator, once you got past the rough edges, could actually talk like a normal human being.

In the anime, those two security guards—whose names Nagami had long forgotten—had a surprisingly decent relationship with him.

In Academy City, out of millions of students, only seven had reached Level 5—the highest tier of esper abilities.

Using esper powers required complex calculations, so you could imagine how powerful their brains must be.

Among them, Accelerator was by far the most exceptional.

His ability, Vector Control, looked incredibly OP in the anime—and rightfully so.

His computational power alone probably exceeded all the other Level 5s combined.

Of course, that was before his injuries.

While raw intelligence doesn't directly equate to computational strength, there's still a correlation.

Nagami had been privately asked by him for info on Aleister and got a response that even shocked Accelerator:

"A cosmic explosion… multiplied by ten."

For someone on Accelerator's level to shift his stance about a measly LV5 like Nagami? The only explanation had to be this mysterious chat group.

————————————————————————

[Akemi Homura]: Accelerator-san, how are the Misaka Sisters doing? Is the Level 6 Shift experiment still running?

[Accelerator]: Tch. Like I care about them. The experiment was scrapped after I wrecked a few more labs.

————————————————————————

Everyone in the chat instinctively ignored that first line.

After spending some time with him, they'd learned that despite all the bluster, Accelerator had a soft spot for the Misaka Sisters and was quietly looking out for them.

————————————————————————

[Shiraori]: I hope you find your precious little loli soon~

————————————————————————

Despite being a socially anxious mess in real life, Shiraori transformed completely online.

It was like watching a whole new person emerge—one that was fully embracing their true self.

————————————————————————

[Accelerator]: You little shit, you wanna die?!

————————————————————————

Far away on the Ratatoskr airship, Commander Itsuka Kotori yawned as she scrolled through the ever-lively chat group from her command seat.

"Commander, you've seemed kinda unmotivated lately. Don't tell me it's because you haven't had an exciting date in a while?"

The voice, belonging to none other than Kyouhei Kannazuki with his signature creep factor and deep Koyasu-esque tone—held a teasing lilt.

"What's the point? This is a romantic comedy harem light novel. As long as Shidou's the protagonist isn't in trouble, there's no real danger."

Kotori glanced lazily at the big screen showing Itsuka Shidou, then turned her attention back to her phone.

Kannazuki understood each word she said, yet somehow the sentence as a whole left him utterly baffled.

But before he could ask for clarification, Kotori suddenly froze mid-scroll.

"Wait a second! Sure, the main character might not be in danger, but what about the girls around him?!"

She wasn't going to admit to being in her brother's harem, but who knew how Mio Takamiya would interpret things?

What if she saw Kotori as a romantic rival and decided to eliminate her?

Especially since Yoshinon and Tohka were already thoroughly "captured" by her brother—if anyone fit the bill of a harem member, it was them.

"Ugh…"

Kotori let out a heavy sigh.

She'd originally thought she could coast along doing nothing—but now it looked like she'd have to take some action after all.

Otherwise, her friends might end up as collateral damage in some jealous lover's war.

————————————————————————

[Kiana Kaslana]: Ughhh, at this rate how long will it take me to rack up enough points to buy a world-hopping pass?!

[Kiana Kaslana]: What's with this broken chat system?! Why do I only get 1 or 2 points every time I sign in?!

[Shiraori]: I know I shouldn't, but… hearing that still made me unreasonably happy just a little bit. 😏

[Nagami]: @Shiraori, you've been getting bolder lately, haven't you? If this keeps up, I might just pop into your world and meet you face to face. Hope you're this lively in person too~

[Shiraori]: NANI?!

[Shiraori]: You're coming to my world?!

[Itsuka Kotori]: But we're still 4 members short of a full 10-person group. How are you gonna world-hop, Nagami?

[Nagami]: I'm the group admin. I've got privileges. As soon as we hit 7 members, I can buy a "Travel Pass" from the admin dashboard.

[Kiana Kaslana]: Ugh. Admin privilege abuser.

————————————————————————

Watching the chat, C.C. scoffed quietly. How dare this spoiled heiress mock her?

————————————————————————

[Nagami]: Day 32 of daily check-ins. Only 212 points total. Guess I'm just not lucky enough, huh~

————————————————————————

Oh, you want to talk luck?

Let me show you what real luck looks like—the divine wrath of a gacha god.

Back before Nagami was reborn, he loved doing this.

Every time she pulled something rare, he'd flaunt it in the group.

But since he didn't have admin privileges back then, he always got muted by the mods.

Once, he even got kicked out of the group entirely.

All for pulling five 5-stars in a single 10-pull in Genshin. Ridiculous.

What, people can't handle the sight of a little golden glow? No way, right? …Right?

————————————————————————

[Akemi Homura]: ???

[Kiana Kaslana]: ???

[Shiraori]: ???

[Itsuka Kotori]: ???

[Inori Yuzuriha]: Whoa, that's amazing, Nagami!

[Shiraori]: Still human...?

————————————————————————

[Kal'tsit has joined the chat group]

————————————————————————

[Nagami: !!!]

————————————————————————

"Wahoo!!"

A crisp and cheerful shout rang out as C.C.'s eyes lit up with pure joy.

She instantly flipped over on the couch like a salted fish coming back to life, a grin spreading across her face.

Now this—this was what you call a surprise!

No—this was what you call a freaking surprise!

Scratch that—this was what you call a goddamn amazing surprise!

"I've been waiting for Kal'tsit to join since 2008! She's finally here!"

————————————————————————

[Nagami]: Welcome, newcomer~

[Shiraori]: Welcome~ Newbie, post a pic~

————————————————————————

Rhodes Island.

Despite the "island" in its name, it wasn't actually a fixed island.

No, it was more like a massive land cruiser the size of a small city, traversing the world on treads.

At that moment, deep inside Rhodes Island's control center—in the office...

A young woman sat at her desk, flipping through documents with unwavering focus.

Her snowy white hair, tinged faintly with green, fell gently to her shoulders. Two fluffy animal ears poked through her hair, twitching slightly.

Her exposed shoulders were smooth and pale, almost like porcelain—if not for the strange black-green crystals jutting out from her skin, marring the otherwise perfect complexion like corrupted gemstones.

She wore a green strapless dress beneath the white lab coat that marked her as the head of Rhodes Island's medical department.

Her slender legs, bare to the air, were crossed with elegance, and her heels only emphasized her tall, graceful figure.

Her long lashes quivered slightly.

Those evergreen eyes—usually so calm and unreadable—flashed with the faintest hint of surprise.

Kal'tsit slowly set down the document she was reading. In that moment, her aura shifted—stoic, sharp, commanding.

————————————————————————

[Nagami]: @Shiraori 🔨 tone it down a notch, would you? Don't scare off the newbie… though this one probably won't get scared easily.

[Shiraori]: Ehe~

[Itsuka Kotori]: You know someone again already? Seriously?

[Nagami]: @Kal'tsit I recommend checking the group announcement first. That'll help you understand what this whole thing is about.

————————————————————————

C.C. figured Kal'tsit would be quick to grasp the concept of a multiverse chat group.

Sure, Terra's technological progression was... weird.

Cities had everything—phones, concerts, and more—yet once you left the city, it was all courier delivery and primitive transport again.

Still, there were clues.

For example, in the main storyline, Chernobog once broadcasted its city code—clear proof of some form of radio tech.

And then there was Kardah, who claimed her videos were trending across the intercity network.

That kind of infrastructure meant Terra already had interconnected urban networks.

Kal'tsit furrowed her brows slightly, her elegant yet emotionless face tinged with serious contemplation.

After a moment's hesitation, she tapped on the group announcement and began reading through the information carefully.
