Chapter 4 – Hearts Entwined, Heavens Challenged
The grove of moonlotuses had grown silent.
Faint motes of spiritual energy still drifted lazily in the air, glowing softly in hues of silver and gold. Lin Feng lay on his back, bare from the waist up, his chest rising and falling steadily. Beside him, Lin Xiaoyu stirred, her face bathed in moonlight, lips parted in lingering bliss.
Her body nestled against his like it had always belonged there—warm, pliant, and glowing with qi.
Neither spoke for a long time.
Their bodies had already spoken more clearly than words ever could.
Lin Feng gently brushed a petal from her hair. "Was it… too much?"
She giggled softly, eyes half-lidded. "It was everything."
He smiled. "Even the bit where you screamed my name and shattered three lotus blossoms?"
She flushed and punched his shoulder—softly. "They shouldn't have been listening anyway."
Then her expression turned serious. She placed a hand on his chest, where the lotus bond mark now pulsed beneath the skin.
"I didn't know dual cultivation could feel like this," she whispered. "So whole. So… infinite."
Lin Feng covered her hand with his own. "It isn't just sex, Xiaoyu. It's soul resonance. Trust. Desire sharpened into purpose."
Her fingers tightened. "Then take me deeper."
He looked at her, surprised. "You're serious?"
"I want to feel everything you feel. I want to experience what Yue Chan showed you and go beyond. I want to ascend beside you."
The determination in her eyes struck him like lightning. This wasn't the shy herb girl from the village. This was a cultivator awakening to her own power.
Without another word, Lin Feng sat up and pulled her into his lap, her thighs straddling him.
Their auras flared to life.
Golden tendrils of qi began spiraling around them as their bodies reconnected. But this time it wasn't just flesh. Lin Feng channeled the Moon Silk Sutra – Second Form: Heavenly Petal Union.
A flower bloomed between their cores—a metaphysical lotus that opened petal by petal with each breath, each kiss, each moan.
Xiaoyu arched against him, her back taut, her cultivation core absorbing the qi flowing from his.
She gasped, then cried out, not in pain—but from awakening.
"I can feel it—my meridians… they're stretching!"
He kissed her throat, whispering into her skin, "Let them stretch. Let the qi overflow. We'll reshape them together."
Their lovemaking turned from sensual to divine.
Each movement fed their cores. Each thrust of energy purified her spiritual sea. Xiaoyu's foundation stabilized, then deepened. Her cultivation broke into mid-stage Spirit Root Realm, faster than any elder would believe.
Her fingernails dug into his back. Her breathing became erratic.
"I… Lin Feng… I can't… hold it—"
"Don't hold it," he growled. "Release it. With me."
Their bodies locked in final unity as golden energy exploded outward in a ring, shaking the moonlotus grove and sending petals flying.
The flower above them bloomed fully. A third lotus petal glowed in Lin Feng's soul core—a sign that he had reached the third level of the Moon Silk Technique.
They collapsed together, trembling, slick with sweat and qi-rich air.
After a long moment, Xiaoyu whispered into his ear, "I don't want anyone else to touch you like that."
He smiled softly, brushing a kiss across her shoulder. "You may have to fight for that right."
She smirked. "Then I'll win."

The Next Morning
Sunlight crept into the grove as birds sang softly overhead. Lin Feng sat cross-legged, meditating, while Xiaoyu leaned against a nearby tree, twirling a lotus stem between her fingers.
Peaceful. Still.
Until a sudden rumble shook the earth.
A sharp boom echoed across the valley. Birds scattered. Trees trembled. A cloud of dust rose in the distance—followed by a burning banner unfurling in the sky.
The characters glowed in red flame:
"Sable Peak Sect: Heaven's Tournament Approaches!"
Lin Feng opened his eyes, golden irises gleaming.
"Sable Peak Sect…" he murmured.
Xiaoyu stood. "I've heard of them. Rogue cultivators. Fierce, lawless. They hold tournaments every three years—winner gets access to forbidden relics and secret scrolls."
"And gets noticed by the imperial sects," Lin Feng added. "Some even earn passage to the Heavenly Jade Continent."
The flames in the sky pulsed again, forming a second line:
"All who dare, ascend the mountain in seven days. Or be forgotten."
The message vanished in a burst of crimson ash.
Xiaoyu turned to Lin Feng. "We have to go."
He looked at her, surprised.
"You were cast out of the Iron Sky Sect. They humiliated you. This is your chance to rise again—together. We've unlocked power no sect teaches. Let's show them what dual cultivation can do."
Lin Feng stood slowly, robe fluttering in the wind.
"This will be dangerous."
Her eyes narrowed. "Good."
He smiled. "Then we prepare."

Later That Night – Training Grounds
A makeshift training ring had been formed in the clearing near the grove.
Lin Feng stood shirtless, sparring against multiple illusory clones he summoned using qi projection. Each shadow moved unpredictably, mimicking the styles of sect cultivators—speed, force, spirit attacks.
Across the clearing, Xiaoyu practiced breathing techniques, standing under a waterfall of moonpetal rain to refine her focus.
She had changed.
More precise. More confident. Her attacks flowed like water, yet struck like thunder.
They trained until their qi ran dry, then meditated together—yin and yang interlocked in a spiritual loop that replenished them faster than a hundred pills could.
Xiaoyu opened her eyes and said quietly, "At the tournament… what happens if Yue Chan returns?"
Lin Feng was silent.
"I know she was your first. That she unlocked something powerful. But I'm not weak, Lin Feng. I just want to know… where I stand."
He walked over to her, kneeling at her feet.
"You stand with me. At my side. Not behind Yue Chan. Not beneath anyone."
He looked up at her with fierce sincerity.
"This harem I build… it's not for vanity. It's a covenant. A circle of trust. Passion. Power. I won't take any woman who doesn't want more than lust—I want those who'll rise with me."
She blushed but nodded.
"Then let's rise together."
