It's late at night, in the misty western mountains, the scene was breathtakingly beautiful and peaceful, without the presence of any beasts or humans. There, on the grass layed a boy sleeping. He was strikingly handsome and seemed to be 17 or 18 years old due to his height and muscular build, but in actuality, he was 13 years old. That boy's name was Long Huang.
Initially, Long Huang was from Earth. He was a 19-year-old college student who suddenly died when a building collapsed on him.
But when he opened his eyes, he found himself inhabiting an infant's body. He was an orphan back on Earth, and here it also seemed the case, as he was abandoned at his sect's entrance.
Long Huang sighed, "Am I really that unwanted to be alone in both worlds?" Unknown to him, he was far from an orphan.
After turning two years old, he found out the name of the world he was reborn into called the Ancient Divine World, and he was on the Eastern Sun continent. In the western province in a city called Blossom City.
Long Huang, for the past 2 years, lived near the sect in the western mountains alone. He didn't have many friends simply for the fact he was born with a disease and couldn't live past the age of 16 if he couldn't cultivate to the Blood Tempering realm.
With such little time to live, he isolated himself from almost everyone to avoid any attachment to the world since he wasn't from it in the first place, so he spent his days alone and trained in calisthenics on the abandoned training ground. After exercising, he would look down from the mountains and enjoy the scenery.
Night slowly settled quietly, and bright stars began to appear.
The boy continued his practice for two hours. Sweat dripping from his body, Long Huang laying on the training ground looked towards the night sky and mumbled to himself," If only I had a camera to capture these scenes."
He stopped and went towards a modern-type tiny house not too far from the training ground.
At this moment, Long Huang heard footsteps coming from the direction he was headed. Long Huang knew who it was without looking and sure enough, as he guessed, a tender childlike voice cried out: "Junior Brother, my dad is looking for you."
Long Huang looked ahead and saw a lovely little 14-year-old girl with bright blue eyes and her hair braided into long braids, standing in front of his house. This little girl was his senior sister, Huang Min, and his only friend.
"Why is the fifth elder looking for me?" Long Huang asked.
"I don't know." Huang Min's voice was so innocent and sweet, "Let's go back. If we take too long, then Dad will scold us!"
When Long Huang heard this, he smiled and pinched Huang Min's cute little cheeks before saying, "Let's go then."
Huang Min pouted, then said angrily:" Hey! I'm your senior, have some respect, I told you before, don't pinch my cheeks damn it!"
Huang Min chased after him, screaming,
" Take your beating like a man for once" as she tried to catch up.
"Junior brother, don't run, I promise I won't kill you!"
The two frolicked down the mountain until they had made their way back to the sect situated at the foot of the mountains.
Although he was already 19 in his previous life and found playing with the others childish and wrong, being with this senior sister brought out the child in him that was once lost. As to why it has to do with the fact that for the first 11 years of his new life Huang Min family took care of him after they found him on a family walk.
Soon, they got close to the fifth elder's manor entrance.
Long Huang headed straight to the Main hall of the manor. When he arrived at the main hall, there was a scholarly-looking middle-aged man in his mid-thirties dressed in a white robe, sitting in the head seat. Next to him was a pretty woman with eyes similar to Huang Min's. This married couple was the fifth elder, Huang Peng and his wife, Su Yan.
"Fifth elder, you were looking for me?" Long Huang asked as he walked into the hall.
Huang Peng furrowed his sword-like brows. "Why are you practicing so late at night?"
"It's fine. Don't frighten the child." Su Yan interjected with a smile: "Child, in a few days, you will be 14 years old. It's about time to awaken the bloodline in your body. We are planning to bring you over to the Martial Hall for the awakening ceremony first thing in the morning ."
'Bloodline awakening?' Long Huang blanked for a moment.
This world is ruled by the strong, where factions, sects, and families are the top brass, and weak folks had no option but to follow in their shadows.
In this world, almost every human has a bloodline and, in some rare cases a special body constitution. A Human warrior's strength and achievements in cultivation are closely related to the talents and grade of these bloodlines.
Bloodlines are graded into Ordinary, Variant, Earth, Heaven, Emperor, Divine, Celestial, and Ancient. They are further divided into low, mid, and high level, Earth grade bloodlines were considered talented and Heaven grades were geniuses among geniuses. While Emperor grades were monsters, and as for the above Emperor grade, no one has heard of it.
The higher one's bloodline level was the higher talent they had in to absorb the world's spiritual energy and the grade of the bloodline also gave the individual additional strength.
Nevertheless, there were also people born without bloodlines and those who had quasi-bloodlines, rendering them almost unable to train past the fourth level of cultivation. In the Ancient Divine World, these people were labeled as waste!
"Bloodline" ... A light flashed across Long Huang's eyes, for he too, wanted to know if he possessed any bloodline in his body, and if he did, what grade and bloodline would it be?
Thus, Long Huang stayed the rest of the night at Huang Peng's manor to arrive early at the Martial Hall of the sect in the next few days. That morning, when they arrived at the outer area of the sacred hall, it was already packed with people waiting with their children, waiting to awaken their bloodline. Other than Long Huang, there were also other members of the sect who were present, and citizens of the city.
Today, the Sect Lord Chi Qide exited his closed-door retreat earlier than planned. Usually, the Sect Lord would not make an appearance during the bloodlines awakening ceremony, however, this year was special because of Chi Wei, his son.
Chi Qide smiled, then nodded his head at Huang Peng's group before turning to face the rest of the Sect's people. He smiled and said, " Welcome, all, to the Azure Lotus Sect awakening ceremony." he then chuckled and said, "Don't mind me, I just came to have a look."
Chi Qide walked to the front of the main hall, his eyes darted around the crowd in the hall before finally stopping on an old man in a gray robe standing next to him. Laughing amiably, Chi Qide
said: "Since everyone is already here, let's begin."
"Yes, Sect leader." The old man in a gray robe answered respectfully, and then he walked to the center of the hall. The old man in the gray robe was the sect's Chief Elder Chen Ying; Long Huang heard that Chen Ying had been a follower of Chi Qide's Grandfather for a long time, even before Chi Qide was born.
Chen Ying stood at the center of the hall, a light glowed in his hands, spreading an overwhelming pressure across the hall. It was no shock as everyone knew Chen Ying was a Ninth-stage Qi Condensing realm with a Mid-level Variant grade bloodline.
Long Huang's eyes lit up; so this is the power of a Ninth-stage Qi Condescending realm expert. So strong!
With Chen Ying's channeling his qi, suddenly, in the center of the hall, a bright light shone, forming a beam.
"Chi Wei, you first." Chi Qide looked at Chi Wei.
"Yes, father." Chi Wei answered and stepped forward into the light beam. As the beam of light fell on Chi Wei, everyone in the hall focused on Chi Wei, who was now standing within the beam of light. Chi Qide's face showed a faint trace of tension as he watched his son.
The beam of light wrapped around Chi Wei for a brief moment before a black light took over, enveloping Chi Wei. Finally, the black shadow of a tiger gradually emerged from behind Chi Wei.
It was a black tiger with wings. As the shape of the black tiger condensed and became more corporeal, a ferocious tiger's roar echoed in the main hall. Everyone was stunned.
Chi Qide stared at the faint black shadow behind his son Chi Wei; his eyes shone brightly as he let out a big laugh, as he was tremendously pleased.
"This... is the low-level Earth grade bloodline, the Winged Black Tiger!" Chi Qide cried out in an excited voice. As his own bloodline was a high-level Variant grade bloodline.
A Winged Black Tiger bloodline was considered one of the top among the low-level Earth grade; it was infinitely close to being a mid-level Earth grade bloodline. Chi Wei's bloodline turned out to be an Earth-grade bloodline, the Winged Black Tiger! It was a big shock as no one expected to see an Earth-grade bloodline.
