Author's Note:

Hey there! So… this story actually started off as a school project, but after seeing how much potential it had, I decided to keep going with it. I'm not a pro or anything—this is literally my first novel—and yeah, you might notice some inspiration from series like Re:Zero and Konosuba. If you catch a reference, feel free to call it out—I'll be real with you, lol.

A bit about me: I'm 16 years old and I usually write during school breaks or late at night past 1AM. This is my first real project to go over 1,000 words, so that alone's been a big deal for me. I'm seriously inexperienced, but I always try to put my creative mind to work. And yep, the main character is very much based on my own thought process—so don't be surprised if he feels a little too real at times.

Fair warning: I definitely rushed the first 4–5 chapters. I didn't even have a solid plan when I started, just vibes and energy. I might remake them later if I feel like it, who knows? I also take a lot of suggestions, so the story might change directions now and then depending on feedback.

About the Story

The story follows Izuma Nasiki(pronounced e-zoom-ah nah-see-key—try saying it fast, it's a mouthful, lol). He dies in a car crash and wakes up in a strange fantasy world. But this isn't your typical overpowered-isekai. Izuma isn't OP—not now, and not ever in that one-shot-god-slaying kind of way. That's not what this story is about.

But let me be clear—he will get stronger. Just not in that cheat-code, broken-power kind of way. Izuma will grow, both mentally and physically, but it'll come with effort, trauma, failure, and grit. His strength will feel earned, not handed to him. You'll see him develop skills, adapt to brutal situations, and push his limits—but he'll always stay human at the core. He's not here to solo the world—he's here to survive it.

This story is about growth in the most realistic sense. No hero halo, no plot armor, no "I unlocked a secret god-tier ability by episode 3." Just a 17-year-old introvert with some brains, decent perception, and a heavy dose of emotional struggle—trying to figure out how to stay alive in a world that doesn't give second chances.

It leans heavily into mystery, emotion, and slow discovery. The world doesn't get explained all at once—you learn about it as Izuma does. It's meant to feel raw, personal, and sometimes uncomfortable.

As of writing this (March 31, 2025 at 5:41 AM), I'm currently working on Chapter 7. The story's still evolving, and I usually post around Five chapters a week, depending on school and sleep (or lack of it lol). If you're into character-driven stories with emotional weight, tension, and slow-burn progression—this might be your kind of thing.

Thanks for reading—and welcome to the ride ✌️

—sincerely, Kenzo.
