Day two in this strange world. Leo was cold, hungry, and questioning all his life choices—past, present, and reincarnated.
He'd made a rough shelter using tree branches and bark. It collapsed at 3 a.m.
He tried to hunt with a stick. The rabbit bit him.
And now… there was a bear.
Not a cute anime mascot.
A three-meter beast with fangs the size of his forearm.
It roared loud enough to shake his soul.
But that wasn't what made Leo panic.
In front of the bear stood a little girl—barely 11 years old—holding a wooden sword, trembling but standing firm.
Leo's heart dropped. "Are you kidding me?!"
The bear lunged.
Leo didn't think.
He grabbed a rock and hurled it.
THUNK!
The rock bounced off the bear's head. It turned—furious—and roared at him.
"HEY YOU! OVER HERE, FLUFFY!!"
He turned and sprinted away, leading it in the opposite direction.
He didn't look back.
He just ran.
Branches slapped his face. Roots tripped his steps.
Then the cliff came into view.
"Oh no."
His feet slipped.
The bear skidded behind him.
And both of them went tumbling off the cliff.
Leo screamed, arms flailing, until—SNAP!
He latched onto a hanging vine, his body swinging mid-air.
The bear plummeted down the ravine, roaring until it disappeared.
Leo hung there, panting.
"System… this better be worth it."
