Chapter 4 - 4: Memory of golden eyes

"...What?" Kenichi stared blankly at the fairy.

"Heh, I know it sounds amazing. Getting to destroy W.O.W. Wish it was me" She stared wistfully off toward the horizon as she talked.

"Wanna take over?"

"No, no I don't." She didn't meet his eyes, she just kept staring at the fading sun.

"You're useless."

"Actually I'm Lilith." She Said as they finally arrived at Kenichi's house.

"That…explains a lot actually." Kenichi's house was actually pretty big, it wasn't extremely large but it was bigger than Rito's. Kenichi's house was more old style, it had a similar look to the main house from Fruits basket.

This house was originally meant to fit two adults and two children, but now it only fit one teenager.

"Kenichi slid open the door and was greeted with the ever familiar scene of,

"Horror." Lilith said as she saw the dirty clothes strewn around the entrance and the porn magazines stacked into piles here and there across other places.

"Yeah, It's-uh yeah." Kenichi looked away avoiding the gaze of Lilith who had a look of horror on her face.

"How have you lived in…this?" She asked while her wings kept her high above everything so she wouldn't have to touch it.

"I don't really have an answer for you. I was fine with it this morning, but now it's just really disgusting." He said, his look disappointed. He seemed to recall something as he looked around. "You know I don't even think I have cleaning stuff, I just wasted all my inheritance on porn magazines and other…things." Kenichi was clearly disgusted with his actions, but it wasn't clear to him why he was. Until a thought came across his mind.

"Was it the will of the world?" He wondered if the reason for his past purchases was because of this elder being that he was supposed to kill. "Oh yeah, wait no that's right, what do you mean by Kill the will of the world?"

"It seems pretty self explanatory, my organization wants you to kill W.O.W."

"Yeah, I got that part but how? I mean When Rito becomes Lalla's Fiance he lives through the attacks by other Suitors because he has plot armor. If he didn't he would have died, I know he is weak."

"Well, yeah he's a main character. We don't really know what that means though, what does it have to do with marriage?"

"..." Kenichi stared at the girl, his mind racing.

"Oh, they don't know. Do I keep it that way? Do I tell them about the fact that I can see into other realities? What do I do?" His thoughts ran rampant as a memory surfaced through his thoughts.

***

"Don't ever let them see your cards." A strong, dependable voice came from the man who looked like a more handsome and grown up version of Kenichi. His features were brown hair that gently fell on top of his face, a well structured face with clear skin and his brilliant blue eyes.

"Dad, why are you teaching me how to play poker? I'm five." A young Kenichi said confused but also somewhat focused.

"You have to carry on my legacy, Kenichi." The man who was named Saruyama Gen got serious as he said this.

"Playing poker doesn't sound like a great legacy."

"Kenichi," His tone was more serious than he had ever heard his father, "You must learn to gamble, so you can be in crippling debt, like me."

"Dad!" Kenichi spiked up from his seat and saw his dad laughing.

"Ha-ha. I'm kidding Kenichi." His dad laughed, his big booming laugh echoes throughout the halls of their summer home.

"So why are you actually teaching me this? Is it because you were playing with *&%* father."

"What's going on? This is my memory, this isn't some-" Kenichi was pulled from his thoughts. He found himself in a dark room surrounded by black smoke as a pair of golden eyes filled with rage looked at him.

"YOU!!!!!!!!" It's voice was like that of a chalkboard being scratched with broken code from an old computer. It held a hatred toward Kenichi, one that seemed unnecessary.

"What are you?"

"I-am-Des-ti-ny. I-al-way-s-get-it-ri-ght." Their voice was broken, its scratching code became a raspy voice screaming to be noticed, to be praised, to be…embraced.
