"You must be tired. Let's just have a talk later Lia, you go and take a rest. Your room is clean so you can go to your room."
After Kelly curiously started questioning Natalia, Kevin stopped her for a while, knowing it must have been tiring for their daughter as she has to board two flights to come here.
Alas...whatever the reason she came back or maybe came to visit them, he was sure she might have remembered what made her like the idea of leaving the country when she stepped back here.
So he thought she should take a break first.
"Thanks dad."
Natalia nodded, thankful for being understood.
Actually, she was tired, that's right.
However, she couldn't care less about that.
The regret…
It is more painful when she now sees her parents who look so happy to see her..
She had the regret of leaving her parents and not making up her mind soon enough to come back to them.
She never visited them before either...
She regretted it so much.
She was such a selfish daughter.
But…Now she sees that someone had been taking care of her parents all this while.
She remembers him. And, she can't deny, he has changed. A lot.
It was quite amusing how he clearly looked so scared of her yet rolled his eyes at her thinking he was being smooth hiding it.
It was dramatic...
And she couldn't help but find him amusing.
'He was cute.'
She knows it's the same omega her mom brought in and lived there with them.
But his personality seemed to have completely shifted.
Before, he was always so silent and tried so hard to be invisible.
But now…he seems so expressive and…very charming?
However, she is sure her parents might never have been bored.
She could tell by one glance that with that attitude she witnessed in the first few hours she was here, that little omega had been very comfortable.
It's good.
At least finally he started trusting her parents.
'Haa...I wonder if mom will cry again when I tell her I am never leaving again...'
Natalia tied her hair, grabbing a few pieces of clothing from the suitcase as she went to take a shower, her mind filled with a lot of thoughts.
She thought it would be hard to adjust back to the environment here. But surprisingly or unsurprisingly, it finally felt right.
Must be because she is finally back home.
Natalia threw herself on the bed, closing her eyes with a huge smile.
'I should have come sooner.'
Natalia sighed and in the next few minutes, the tiredness and the comfort from the shower finally took her consciousness out, pushing her into a deep, peaceful sleep in her familiar place.
....
"I can't believe it. I talked to her around three days ago and she didn't even hint that she was coming back!"
"Didn't she already explain? She has a point."
"Okay okay. Dad and daughter can team up. Hmmph! Arthur, she should have told me beforehand, right?"
Arthur had been watching aunty and uncle bicker over for some time now and he wasn't excited about getting pulled in because if he took aunty's side, he might lose his ice cream tax, again.
But he can't take uncle's side either. His aunty will be sad.
'All Natalia's fault.'
Arthur pouted and just smiled at the couple, then walked toward the fridge for a distraction.
But he ended up causing another war then.
This time he can't blame anyone else but himself...
"Arthur, I didn't let you stay home so you can eat ice cream!"
"Kelly is right Arthur. You cough really bad at night. You should slow down with cold things."
"Right...Don't buy him any more ice cream this week. Or else I am going to kick you out Kevin."
"Come on Kelly. What did I do? He threatens me, you know?"
"He? Threaten you? Stop joking."
'God...'
Arthur closed the fridge and gave a smile to them, sitting back down with empty hands.
It felt weird.
He always grabs something whenever he closes that fridge.
And he knows...
The ice cream tub was full.
Too bad...
Arthur pouted as usual, silencing the couple as they guiltily stared at each other.
"Okay Arthur, you can have some after lunch , okay? But no more."
Aunt Kelly nudged Arthur and whispered to which Arthur's face immediately brightened up.
And he giggled alone making uncle Kevin chuckle.
"Seriously? Arthur, are you sure your students even take you seriously? I can't even imagine you controlling those high schoolers."
Kevin always had that question. Whenever he sees Arthur so child-like, he can't help but think how he behaves at school.
High Schoolers aren't easy.
Whether omega, beta or alpha....teenagers are all annoying and rebellious. At least few if not all.
So...how does their son who sulks all day just because his aunt said he can't have ice cream, lead a classroom?
Does he have a second personality or something?
"Well, that's a secret."
Kevin rolled his eyes at Arthur's mischievous smile but got a smack from his wife just as he started to laugh at that answer.
A secret?
A secret of Arthur?
That's impossible.
This little guy can't keep secrets.
He is very bad at it.
One time, Arthur and Kelly planned a birthday surprise for Kevin at his last birthday.
And, Kelly was dumb enough to trust Arthur to keep the surprise as a secret because he then went and asked Kevin what his favourite colour was because he wanted to ice 'his surprise birthday cake' in that colour.
He could have just stopped with asking his favourite colour but no...little brat was so excited he spilled the secret rightout then and there.
At the time, Kelly was very disappointed that the surprise was ruined but she and Kevin laugh recalling that moment.
Arthur was seriously a child.
They really want to protect him.
After all, his childhood wasn't very bright.
They were happy that at least his inner child is still alive and enjoys every bit of his life.
So, talking about secrets...
That time was not the only example Kevin could give.
That was just what happened last.
There were a lot more...
"What is it? Aunty really wants to know."
Kelly sweet talked her way into Arthur's heart but Arthur managed to choose his words wisely.
"No aunty. A secret means a secret. Alas, being a teacher is my talent. I am very talented at that. Even the alpha students in my class are scared of me. They never ever disturb me. Everyone just likes me a lot."
Kevin listened as he waited for Arthur to get excited and spill out 'the secret' accidently but it seemed like Arthur wasn't so dumb since this year.
Guess becoming 24 finally made their son a little more inte-
"Hehe…I once ripped off an alpha student's hair after he grabbed my ass so everyone is now scared I would do the same to them if they piss me off. I am that scary to them so they are very obedient and very well behaved with me from then on."
…Yeah...so there it was.
The secret.
