Arata immediately went to the Royal Palace where the Sensei lives. When he reached there he saw many of the squad members also present there. The sensei came out and announced that
"I hope all the squadrons are present here and all have received my letters. As you know we have announced your first mission that is to re-capture our lost territory. That territory is by far the most important territory of all. That area is a Rubber farm of Ishigami , and as you know rubber is used to make your anti- gas suits. You will have to assemble tomorrow in the camp for preparation."
4 DAYS LATER....{Day of Mission}
Squadrons were ready and fully equipped with their suits. They set off at dawn with their horses. The plan was made by Amaya to ambush the souls from 3 sides of the rubber field and drive out the souls from the fourth side.
"Shadow Squad , Thunder Swift, Red Wolves and Moonlight Group will be ambushing from the East . Black Blade, Dragon Flame, Wind Fang And Steel Soul will ambush from South, and Type Zero ,Night Vulture , Flash Team and Ice Blade will ambush from West." Explained Amaya.
"We're not scouts, Amaya. We're fighters! We also want to fight. Can't we fight?" asked Shimoda Masayoshi from Blue Meg.
"Yes! We too want to fight against the souls." Exclaimed Nishiyama Kazuo from Crimson Scorpio.
Amaya replied "That's why I'm entrusting you with something harder—observation. Follow the Souls if they retreat. We need to know where they're nesting. Do not engage unless absolutely necessary."
When they reached the location all the squads hid behind rocks and small hills and took their position and waited for Amaya's command. Then Amaya raised a metallic tube—a Seiki flare.
All 12 squadrons Ambushed the souls from 3 sides but, something unexpected happened.....
But what they found chilled even the bravest warriors.
Dead bodies. Everywhere.
Dozens—no, hundreds—of corpses in various states of decay, some still twitching.
Haruko's voice cracked through the communication relay.
"W-What is this? Where are the Souls?"
Amaya's eyes narrowed. Arata dismounted, slowly stepping toward one of the bodies.
The skin was blackened. The eyes—open. Staring. Empty.
But then… a twitch. A pulse beneath the skin.
His instincts screamed.
"STOP!! DON'T TOUCH THE BODIES!!"
All heads turned to him.
"They're not dead. They're hosts. If you touch them, the Souls will leap into your body!"
Just as he spoke, one soldier from Wind Fang leaned too close to a corpse, trying to check for survivors.
A crackling shriek erupted.
The body spasmed violently. Its mouth stretched wide, unnaturally wide, and black vapor burst forth, striking the soldier in the chest. The man screamed as the vapor entered through his mouth, eyes, and nose, his limbs jerking violently.
"He's possessed!" Akari screamed.
The other corpses began rising—like puppets jerked to life by invisible strings. The air grew thick with unnatural energy. Dozens of corpses suddenly burst open, revealing Soul-Wraiths—shadow-like entities with crimson-glowing cores in their chests.
"AMBUSH!" Amaya shouted. "This entire field is a cursed zone!"
The plan was shattered in an instant. Squadrons scattered to defend themselves.
Red Wolves were wiped out in seconds.
Moonlight Group held formation, but black lightning cracked through their lines.
Arata gritted his teeth and shouted to Haruko.
"We need to form a barrier! Kōri Kekkai!"
Arata, Akari, and Haruko raised their hands together, combining their energy.
"Kōri Kekkai: Fuyujō no Yari!"(Ice Barrier: Spears of the Winter Fortress!)
A spiraling dome of ice formed around them, but the Souls smashed against it, hissing, screeching, relentless.
Meanwhile – Shadow Recon Squad
Masayoshi and Kazuo, along with a few stealth members from Blue Meg and Crimson Scorpio, watched from the hills above. What they saw was chaos incarnate.
Masayoshi's eyes narrowed.
"We're not following anymore. We need to act."
Kazuo grabbed his arm. "Wait. Look…"
Far beyond the battlefield, deeper into the woods, a strange obelisk glowed with black energy. Around it, Souls circled like carrion, and beneath it—a massive Seiki well had been formed.
"That's it… That's the nest. That's where they're coming from."
They activated a stealth seal and retreated to report back—but something followed.
A soft whimpering was heard behind them. A small girl, maybe ten years old, in a tattered kimono.
Masayoshi approached, but his instincts screamed again.
"No—wait!"
The girl smiled, her teeth black, her eyes void.
A blast of dark Seiki erupted from her body.
Back at the Field – The Breaking Point
Arata's barrier shattered as two Soul-Wraiths fused into a larger form—a towering, four-armed beast made of shadow, ice, and rage.
"We have to use the Benediction!" Akari cried.
"But—what if we kill the hosts?" Haruko shouted.
Arata stepped forward. "We don't have a choice."
He raised his hand, eyes glowing silver.
"Hyōsō: Tsukikage no Kusari!"
The chains of moonlight lashed out, wrapping around the monster. Amaya joined in, her black blossom storm firing directly into the soul-core.
It screamed.
The battlefield shook.
The sky cracked open—literally.
A rift began to form overhead, and through it, a massive Soul Gate began descending—bringing something far worse.
A silhouette… tall… robed in chains and shadows. A Soul General.
