As the clock struck midnight every house in Foggy lake town had been shut and candles blown off , as it's residents tried to rest after a long day of work .
' Annalyn you're all grown up now , and tomorrow you're no longer going to be my little girl anymore , Mr Morris is going to be the luckiest man to have you dear ' said a middle aged woman as she braided her daughter's hair in the dimly lit room .
' Mother , I will always be your little girl no matter what and tomorrow when I'll be walking down the aisle...I hope that you and Heidi will be beside me ' the girl smiled at her reflection on the old mirror .
' well course , we will honey ' the woman replied to her with a soft smile . ' Now come on off you go and rest there's a big day ahead of you ' she added .
Annalyn stood from where she was seated and hugged her mother who was a bit teary , ' Save those tears for when you'll be sending me off tomorrow ' she whispered to her.
Mother , Sister . why are you not in bed yet? ' Annalyn's younger sister asked as she rubbed her sleepy eyes .
' We were just about to sweetheart go back to sleep now ' the mother said sweetly as she made her way to the bed and tried to put the girl to sleep .
' You should go to bed now , bride to be ' those were the last sweet words Annalyn heard her Mother say to her before she went to bed . She couldn't wait to live her dream tomorrow and marry the man she had loved half of her life .
When she did finally sleep she was awaken by loud banging at the front door and weird noises outside , getting out of bed she made her way to the window .
Chaos ! the once peaceful village was now being attacked , all she could see was people , her people running for their lives, carriages and some of the houses were on fire ! . But there amongst the crowd one man hidden in a cloak stood still watching and smiling like a deranged psycho at the people but then as if sensing her stare his gaze snapped back at Annalyn trapping her.
' Annalyn! Annalyn ! step away from the window ' her mother called as she pulled her away and pulled the curtains closed .
' come with me ' her mother pulled her out of her room and to the back door where her younger sister stood paling in fear . ' You have to go now , the village is under attack. I'll hold them off so please run ! ' the mother said giving Annalyn her cloak .
The banging on the door did not stop and only grew louder ' Annalyn I need you to take care of your sister till I can come find you.. need to run alright .
Annalyn didn't understand what was happening , they heard the door lock break before two scary looking men stepped inside the small house .
'come out right now ' shouted one of them as the other searched for them . Just as the family was about to step out of the house the men found them . ' well ! well look what we have here two pretty girls to serve the royal family, come here you two ' the men tried to reach out and grab them but before they could do so the mother stepped in front of her daughters and tried to defend her daughters .
She tried to throw whatever she could get her hands on at the men , Annalyn and Heidi stood frozen and they witnessed their mother being slapped and beaten as she struggled as much as she could to protect them . ' Run , please...save yourselves '
The poor woman was beaten and left on the floor bloody but when they tried to follow her daughters she held them by their legs , ' No ! don't you dare touch my daughters . Leave them alone ' she shouted as she watched her daughters run and disappear in the woods .
' You stupid woman ' one of them snapped and held her by the neck before throwing her to the wall . ' leave them alone ' the woman winced in pain .
' Aaaargh ! the lord is not going to be pleased with this ' groaned the man in frustration as he stared at the woman who was half conscious.
' Let's go , leave them .... they are useless now . I don't think they'll survive in those woods ' ordered the man who seemed to be the leader .
' All the young women and girls in the village were gathered up and chained in cages while men and old people were injured and others killed .
' Men ! We leave tonight for Aucksberg , hurry and take anything valuable in this pathetic land ' ordered the man .
' Please let us go, we haven't done anything wrong ' some of the girls cried as they begged for their freedom. ' let us go , we know our rights ' more cries could be heard from the girls
' Shut up ! you should be honored that you will get the chance to serve the rich and powerful ' shouted one of the men .
While the others laughed at them , because they were going to cry and beg for mercy even more when they arrive at the cursed kingdom.
