Chapter 11 - Chapter 9: Shadows on Naboo

Two years later

Morning came to Coruscant beneath its single blazing sun, casting long rays across the towers of the Jedi Temple. All was quiet—too quiet.

Within the Council Chamber, Master Mace Windu stood stiffly before the window, arms crossed, his lips twitching in uncharacteristic frustration. His normally impeccable purple robes were now streaked with streaks of glowing green paint that refused to wash out, a result of Naruto's latest masterpiece. The prank had been ingenious in both scope and precision.

Earlier that morning, Windu had entered his chambers to find his entire wardrobe replaced by identical Jedi robes—except all of them glowed like a lightsaber under UV light. The real twist? The robes were rigged with a faint scent emitter that filled any room with the aroma of roasted nuna birds every time he moved.

The final insult: a tiny recorded message that played when he opened his lightsaber hilt.

"May the forks be with you."

Naruto's giggling could still be heard echoing through the Temple halls when Master Windu arrived—glowing—in the Council Chamber.

Master Ki-Adi-Mundi tried to speak but let out a sharp snort instead. Even the stern Master Depa Billaba had to lower her hood to hide a smile. Plo Koon coughed—loudly—and avoided eye contact entirely.

Master Yoda, of course, was seated in serene silence at the center of the room, but the twinkle in his ancient eyes betrayed him. He gave a slow nod as Revan entered, accompanied by a grinning Naruto who tried—and failed—not to laugh.

Revan caught Yoda's look. No words were exchanged, but Revan understood: This is your padawan. Your responsibility. But also... well played.

"I take it you've met Naruto," Revan said dryly, bowing.

Windu's eyes narrowed. "The child is… inventive."

Naruto saluted. "Only the best for Master Shiny-Robes."

Yoda finally spoke. "A disturbance in the Force, there is. But brighter, the day becomes, hmm?"

With laughter fading and solemn expressions returning, the Council turned to business. Revan stood in the center, calm and collected, as the holoprojector activated. A large image flickered to life: the Trade Federation blockade surrounding the peaceful planet of Naboo.

"A diplomatic dispute, the Senate calls it," Ki-Adi-Mundi said.

"But something darker lingers," Master Windu added, finally composed. "The Chancellor has requested Jedi intervention. Negotiators."

"Qui-Gon Jinn and his Padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi," Yoda confirmed. "Ready, they are."

The Council turned to Revan.

"We wish your perspective, Knight Revan," Depa said. "From a time of war and politics… what do you sense?"

Revan studied the image for a long moment. "There's deception in this move. Blockades don't happen without intent. And intent… means power. Someone is testing the Republic's reach. This isn't a dispute. It's a probe."

"Agreed," Windu said.

Naruto, still fidgeting, raised a hand.

"Yes, Padawan Naruto?" Master Plo Koon said patiently.

"If the bad guys are testing stuff, shouldn't we test back? Like… send someone scarier?"

There was a pause.

Revan smirked. "He means someone intimidating, Master."

"Like a prank?" Naruto offered hopefully.

"No pranks," Revan said quickly. "We've already traumatized Master Windu enough today."

As the Council recessed, Qui-Gon Jinn and young Obi-Wan Kenobi entered the chamber, called for final briefing. Obi-Wan, still a Padawan, bowed respectfully. He was reserved, observant—his eyes flicking to Revan and Naruto briefly before returning to his master's side.

Qui-Gon greeted Revan with curiosity. "The Force ripples around you, Knight Revan. It's rare to meet a Jedi so... cloaked in echoes."

"I could say the same," Revan replied, intrigued by the elder Jedi's unconventional aura. "Your name is spoken often—even in my time."

Naruto peeked at Obi-Wan, then whispered loudly, "You look like you'd fall for the old whoopee cushion under the Jedi Council chair trick."

Obi-Wan blinked. "The… what?"

Revan elbowed him lightly. "He's joking. Mostly."

"Mostly?" Obi-Wan said, narrowing his eyes.

Naruto shrugged innocently.

As the two teams parted ways—Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan to prepare for their journey, and Revan with Naruto to return to training—Master Yoda stayed behind with Revan.

"Growing, your bond with the boy is," Yoda said, eyes watching the departing prankster.

"He keeps me from forgetting what matters," Revan answered. "Hope. Mischief. Purpose."

Yoda tapped his cane. "And you… teach him balance."

Outside, Coruscant buzzed with activity. Speeders soared, the Temple tower gleamed, and the great currents of the Force whispered of changes yet to come.

And somewhere down a side hall, Naruto was already planning his next prank.
