Atshushi had countless thoughts racing through his mind about what was happening around him. He had already been mentally unstable in his past life, and now his brain was unable to process all the strange things occurring.
He thought to himself, "WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?"
The man standing nearby noticed a flicker of anger on Atshushi's face — something unusual for a newborn baby. Instead of crying like others, Atshushi scowled.
The man spoke, "Kazuki doesn't seem like other newborn babies."
The woman beside him added, "Maybe something's wrong with him."
At that moment, a royal doctor entered the room. He had been hired beforehand in case any complications occurred with the child or the mother. The doctor approached, observing Atshushi's face — the hint of anger in his expression — and also noticed the absence of crying.
Atshushi quickly realized he needed to cry like a normal newborn or risk exposing himself. Desperate, he forced himself to remember the painful memories of his past life, the loneliness, the therapy sessions, and the haunting voice that had followed him for thirteen days.
Finally, he managed to cry.
Relieved, the woman, the man, and the doctor all sighed in unison.
The scene then shifted five hours ahead.
Atshushi lay quietly in his bed, his tiny body wrapped in fine silk, still struggling to comprehend what had happened to him. His new mother sat beside him, gently watching over him.
Atshushi thought to himself,"What does this mean? I have no idea what's going on. What possible sin could I have committed to deserve being taken from my family and friends? I don't want to be here. How can I get back to my world? There has to be a way. But for now, I just have to accept my new fate. I can't even be what I was. From now on, I have to be Kazuki Ayanami… not Atshushi. How will I possibly manage to do that? Fine — if God wants to do this to me, then FINE. I'll accept my fate."
A thousand more thoughts flooded his mind, each more restless than the last.
