Synopsis
A curse was killing them all—but it was killing her faster. Centuries ago, the demon race made a mistake they could never undo: they slaughtered a powerful witch in cold blood, and with her dying breath, she cursed them—dooming their kind to slow, painful extinction. Now, Seraphina is their last hope. Seraphina was chosen to break the curse—or die trying. Her mission is clear: travel to the human world, find the vampire King, and bring his blood to the coven before the next eclipse. His blood is the key. He is the cure. His name? Prince Xavier of Nevline. But there’s one problem—he doesn’t know who he is. He lives as a human, unaware of the power sleeping inside him, and Seraphina must get close enough to unlock that truth... and then kill him. Only—it doesn’t go as planned. What happens when the demon meant to take his life starts falling for it instead? When Seraphina’s cold heart begins to burn for the one she was sent to destroy? A demon and a vampire. A forbidden union. A destiny that could either save their races—or end them both. Welcome to Blood Bound.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 Chapter 1

The sound of a horrified scream rang in the air, the sound so loud it could wreck my eardrums, I looked down at the pleading woman, her eyes moist as she clunged to the little girl. "Please....please....don't do this!" She pleaded again, her voice cracked from fear.

I chuckled.

Did she really think I would let her go?

What a joke.

Every single sinner would pay for their sins by facing judgement in the hell. I stretched my hand forward as I walked closer to them. A red fiery ball formed beneath my palms, she inched backwards. I could see the fear in her eyes—she wished she could just kill me but no, no one can at least no mortal can.

I laughed mentally.

"Please, pardon my daughter, you can kill me but leave my daughter unharmed." I smirked darkly. "Deal."

With the aid of my other hand, I seperated the girl from her mother. "Mummy!!" She screamed —her little hands reaching for her mother as tears rolled down her cheeks, her eyes were red and I could feel the hatred and resentment she felt towards me and believe me, I loved it.

I threw the ball of fire towards the lady and she was instantly engulfed in flames, her dressed burnt to a crisp—her skin immediately peeled from her skin as she screamed painfully from the hellish flames that consumed her.

"Mummy!!" The little girl cried as she watched her mother disintegrate by the passing second.

The crackling flames, mixed the cracking of her bones—the sweet agonizing screams were like music to my ears. Within minutes her entire body was burnt to a crisp and a portal of fire opened beneath the ashes—swallowing her remains.

I drop the girl and the first thing she did was run to me, and wrap her little arms around me. I didn't hug her back, I just stood there and let her embrace me. When she was ready, she broke the hug and looked at me with tears in her eyes. "I know she was evil but she was still my mother, you didn't have to kill her—" she whispered. Her blue orbs piercing deep into me.

I look down with a smile, caressing her hair, I said. "Evil people have to face judgement and pay for their sins and that Includes your mother." I straightened my stance and snapped my fingers.

Seconds later, I arrived at Delstopia and met my angry mother waiting for me outside our house. I rolled my eyes when she approached me. "Where were you?" She snapped immediately. "I'm an adult mum, I think I can go out without you always knowing my whereabouts?" I replied with an eye roll. She walked closer and held my hand. "I know you're an adult it's just that I'm worried about you, I don't want to loose you please be careful—"

I didn't want to worry her so I nodded and she pulled me in for a hug, I reciprocated and after we walked back into the house together.

I walked to the dinner table which was adorned with food and also my favourite human flesh, I grinned as my mouth watered. I reached for a chair and pulled it out. I was about to sit down when the chair collapsed to the ground—my butt fell flat on the floor. I could hear the distinct laughter of my mother from the other side of table which made me frown.

"Even these darn chairs are against me!" I cussed as I kicked the chair to the side and pulled another one out. I made sure the chair was stable before sitting down on it. We enjoyed dinner and later on we both went to bed.

I couldn't sleep because I felt quite uncomfortable, I twisted and turned but I couldn't shake off this weird feeling I felt inside, I felt like as though something bad was going to happen. I don't know why I felt troubled but I knew one thing, something was wrong.

I went to the bathroom and washed my face clean with some water, I stared at my moist face in the mirror for sometime adoring my features when I heard a loud thud from the other room.

I ran out of my room and kicked my mother's room door open—a sharp gasp tore from my lips as I saw the woman who birthed me bleed from every single part of her body. Her bones were twisting and contorting in different shapes. But she could still smile at me, I could still see her beautiful pearl teeth smiling admist the pain. I threw myself to the ground and held her hand as I shook her limp body. "Mother, Mother!" I cried as tears streamed down my cheeks.

It couldn't be her time yet.

It can't be, she can't just die now.

I kept on shaking her, hoping that she would wake up but she didn't, her bones just kept cracking and cracking. The cold wind blew against my skin but I could only feel the unending flame burning within me.

The memories I shared with her began to play in my mind like a broken reel, as hot tears fell from eyes. My mother, who raised me was here dying before my eyes and I couldn't do anything about it.

I felt useless, weak amongst all—I felt pained.

My mind clicked and I remember a spell book my mother kept around her shelf, I picked myself up and rumaged through the shelves—I found the book and pulled it open, I flipped through the dusty pages my fingers trembling, my eyes looking for a particular spell—a healing spell. I kept searching until I saw it.

I closed my eyes and recited the spell, waving my hand above my mother's body. A green light swirled beneath my palm. I hoped that the spell would work, I wished I would see my mother again but it was too late, her soul was already consumed and there was nothing I could do.

I tossed the book to the side, almost ripping it but I didn't care. My heart clenched and twisted in the worst way possible, I felt as though I'd been stabbed in the heart with a dagger. The pain was insurmountable. My mother, the only family I have left, is gone.

I wouldn't cry, I wouldn't stay here weak, I would make sure I kill who's responsible for this.
