Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

In the quiet corner of the second-floor room, two young masters quietly drank tea, listening to their servants talk about the recent interesting events.

"Big brother, why do I feel like Yunna has changed? She speaks clearly now, no confusion at all. She even openly called out the one who was stirring trouble."

"Yes! Big master, didn't you notice how Lady Nyla acted just now? Her clothes and makeup changed, and I think Lady Yunna looks even more beautiful than Lady Yurra."

"Big brother, why aren't you saying anything? What are you looking at?" Jihan asked, following Yihan's gaze toward the window.

They saw Yunna holding Xael's hand, smiling as she explained the situation. Yunna looked at Xael with a very gentle expression.

"Tsk tsk... Big brother is looking at Yunna! I have never seen a girl look so gently at a man on the street before. Maybe Yunna really changed, or she just likes this Xael a lot."

"Also, big brother, if Yunna's former attendant is now with Lady Yurra, doesn't that mean Yunna is still pure?"

"Jihan, do you think it's normal for a girl to change so much suddenly?" Yihan asked, not answering his brother's question but curious.

"I don't know either. Maybe Yunna herself knows. Could it be she has thought things through and become better?"

Yihan took back his gaze and said to his servant, "Go check what happened to Yunna in the last five or six days."

"Yes, master."

"Big brother, you're not falling for Yunna, are you?" Jihan asked in surprise after hearing his brother's order.

"I'm just curious why she changed so fast," Yihan said lightly, taking a sip of water.

...

Downstairs, Yunna tightly held Xael's hand and said, "Xael, just now Lady Yurra insulted you. Don't take it to heart. It's my fault for causing trouble."

Xael smiled warmly at the slightly nervous Yunna. "It's okay. I just feel sorry that you are treated unfairly in the Su family. I'm fine."

"You're so kind, Xael. I promise I will treat you well from now on and never let you be hurt," Yunna said with a smile.

"Let's go to the pharmacy to buy some insect repellent herbs. Tomorrow, we will go to the mountain together, okay?"

"Okay. The biggest pharmacy in Yixian is just ahead, the Lu family pharmacy. We can check it out."

"Let's go!" Yunna roughly remembered where the pharmacy was. She used to roam the streets every day but rarely visited the Lu family's pharmacy. The Lu family was very famous in the whole Fengluan Kingdom. The head of the Lu family was the chief doctor at the Imperial Medical Institute. The whole Lu family specialized in medicine.

No one dared to offend the doctors lightly.

The Lu family in Yixian was a branch family, managing the county's herbs and pharmacy. The eldest Lu son and daughter learned medicine since childhood but only saw patients one day every ten days, so they were rarely seen.

Even Yunna had never met the Lu family members.

Since it wasn't far, the two walked from Heyi Tea House along the street.

Xael was very handsome, and with Yunna's outfit, passersby couldn't help but glance at them.

Yunna kept talking to Xael, not paying attention to the street's reactions.

After the two of them arrived at the Lu family's medicine hall, they noticed a lot of people watching them.

There were also whispers and quiet gossip.

"Xael, do you think they've been watching us the whole time?" Yunna leaned closer to him and asked softly.

Xael stiffened as he felt Yunna move closer. He could clearly smell the light floral scent coming from her. It was very pleasant.

"Xael?"

"No, I didn't notice either," Xael replied softly, his ears slightly red.

"Are you here to see a doctor or buy medicine?" A young worker at the medicine hall saw the two standing there and bent down slightly to ask.

"I want to buy some herbal sachets that repel mosquitoes. Do you have any?"

"Herbal sachets? We only have herbs that repel mosquitoes. You can take a look, my lady."

Yunna saw that the herbs for repelling insects were just mugwort, mint leaves, and clove.

"Only these three?"

"Yes, my lady."

"Forget it, then," Yunna said, a bit disappointed. It wasn't very hot yet, and there weren't many mosquitoes. Buying just these herbs didn't seem very effective.

She wondered if there might be other mosquito-repelling herbs in the mountains.

After the two left the medicine hall, they got directly onto the carriage.

"Yunna, you seem to know those herbs?"

"Yes, I do. Mugwort, mint, and clove. In the past, during summer, people would make scented sachets with these herbs to keep mosquitoes away," Yunna replied. Her personal attendants hadn't made any for her before, but she'd seen Yurra carry one and had asked about it.

"That's right! Didn't your two attendants make one for you?"

"Of course not. And honestly, I think just using these three herbs isn't enough. I want to think about it and see if I can make something more effective to repel insects."

Yunna was trying to remember what was used in modern mosquito repellent sprays. She had seen videos about it before, but had never tried making any herself.

"Yunna, you're amazing, you even recognize herbs," Xael said curiously.

"I saw them in a book before, haha," Yunna replied with a dry laugh.

The original Yunna didn't know much about herbs, and barely knew how to read.

Most of the writing in this world was in traditional characters. The original Yunna had gone to school, but hadn't really learned well. Yunna herself wasn't great with traditional characters either, but she was still a bit better than the original.

She'd have to make sure to fully learn the writing here. She couldn't accept being illiterate!
