"Kyaaaaa! It's God Aslan! God Aslan is in the house. I repeat, God Aslan is in the house!" Melodie put his binoculars down, slapping Helena's thigh in overwhelming excitement.
The latter didn't even feel the pain as she was squealing with glee alongside Melodie, holding onto her binoculars tight.
"Mel, look! He got a new haircut!" Helena grabbed Melodie's arm as she came to a realization from her intent staring.
Melodie gasped. "No way."
He quickly put on his binoculars to stare at the man. And it was true! He indeed got a new haircut! The last time Melodie saw Aslan, his jet-black hair lengthed a few inches over his shoulders.
Now, his hair was trimmed to his neck. There was a half messy top bun in place, accentuating his beautiful forehead and making his reddish-amber eyes glow with an enchanting shade.
He was wearing a fitted black top and his track jacket was tied around his waist. Those muscles that were on for reveal made Melodie's mouth water.
"C-Camera. Where's my c-camera?" Melodie's brain glitched because of the overflow of hotness.
He put his binoculars away and dipped his hand into Helena's bag to bring out his camera. This camera was not an ordinary one as it was imbued with magic power. The grade was C, and it was his greatest ally in the grand scheme of stalking.
Melodie had just begun to take pictures of the two men in one frame when he noticed that their mouths were moving.
He was about to speak about it, but Helena offered him his B-Grade hearing aid. Melodie fixed it around one ear and set the function. Suddenly, he could hear everything.
Even the sound of Helena biting her fingers in excitement as she watched the arena.
Melodie was able to point his full focus on the voices of his male gods and did away with other external sounds.
"I say that you go from behind and I take them up front. I finish the leader, you eliminate the members. What's so hard to understand about that?" Aslan rolled his tongue at Remington boldly.
"Learn to use your brain, Aslan. The other two guys at the back aren't there for decoration. I'm sure they'd be expecting an attack from the back. I say, the both of us go headfirst." Remington strongly disagreed with Aslan's suggestion.
It seemed like the two of them were teamed up today. Melodie shifted his focus to the other side of the arena and counted five extra people. Those must be the ones his male gods were up against.
He and Helena had truly arrived late. The first matchup of the battle royale was drawing to an end with only two teams left. All the other classmates had been eliminated and were standing by the sidelines.
The instructor of the class was also by the side, watching his students carefully.
Adrenaline coursed through Melodie's veins at the thought of the drama that was about to surface.
Remington and Aslan were more than rivals. They despised each other immensely and each believed that they were better than the other. Which was why anytime they were teamed together, chaos ensued.
"And what if I say I don't want to do it that way but my own way?" A mischievous smirk set on Aslan's lips, little flames dancing on the tips of his fingers.
Remington's features turned icy, a vein by the side of his head ticked.
"You better not act foolishly. A match is still ongoing and–"
"Don't care," Aslan cut Remington off, positioning himself for an attack.
Of course, Remington was quick to react in response as ice began to emerge from thin air to shield him from Aslan's attack.
No one else had noticed prior that the two were arguing and not strategizing. Seeing that their powers were now pointed against each other instead of their opponents, everyone instantly realized that the two were about to exchange blows.
"Kyaaaaa! Rem's so cool. Look at that powerful ice barrier. He got it up in just a few seconds. Oh no, Aslan's imbuing too much magic power in that fireball! What if it destroys Rem's ice barrier and hurts him?!" Helena ranted, her tone mixed with thrill and panic.
Melodie could relate. Though he couldn't sense magic power like Helena, who was a C-Class Guide, he could clearly see the ominous flame growing in Aslan's palm that gave off the vibe that it wanted to devour everything.
Just as Melodie gripped the edge of the bench in anxiety, Aslan launched the fireball. However, it was not in Remington's direction.
At the last second, he turned around and hurled the blazing ball of fire in the opponents' direction without warning.
The five people hadn't been expecting such a move, believing Aslan was going to attack Remington. They had broken out of position and gotten closer to mediate the fight. It was too late for them to counter with ease.
And without even giving them the time to run for their lives, several ice spikes flew in their direction.
The ice barrier that Remington had erected was now a weapon that shot ice spikes like an ultimate cannon.
Aslan continued to launch fireballs, but not at the opponents. He aimed for the places they were running towards, and in only a few seconds, he had them surrounded in a circle of fire with the only clear path leading back to him.
That clear path became blocked by a wall of ice spikes, trapping the opponents with no escape.
What a sinister trap… Melodie thought as he observed all of this.
"Do you think they planned it?" Melodie asked Helena.
Below at the arena, the class instructor sounded a whistle that signified the end of the match as one team had already been driven to a dead end.
"I doubt. They were really about to fight. But as Aslan attacked the other team without caution, Rem naturally followed suit. As much as they hate each other, they have incredible tacit understanding." Helena summarized, penning down words to a book on her lap.
Melodie blushed and boasted, "As expected of my favorite CP; they don't need to speak to understand each other."
Helena nodded in agreement, but her eyes were fixed on the book in her lap that she wrote swiftly on. Melodie snuck a peek at the book and saw that Helena was penning down the things that just happened.
They were going to be useful for future scenes in the fanfiction she was writing about Aston. As a seasoned BL writer, Helena's favorite people to write about were Remington and Aslan.
They had too much main character energy and were the perfect BL protagonist models.
Melodie left Helena to continue writing and picked up his camera to take more photos of his idols as the next match began.
He was going to make sure that he didn't miss any moment of his sweet CP.
