Chapter 3 - Caught in thoughts

Eventually being able to get out of the market place, she soon arrived infront of a wooden gate.

Behind the gate was a forest, behind it was her home... literally.

The wooden gates were built to make the people of the town feel safe from the dangers that lurk out there. Only those brave enough would go through the gate.

But her? She just didn't care. To her,the forest rather protects her from the wickedness and humiliation from the town and it's people.

Shoving open the old wooden gate, she entered. She walked on the forest trail letting the gate slam shut behind her. The sound echoed louder than it should've

She knew them, she knew what they'd do. They're going to talk about that little incident for days to come.

They'll twist it, stretch it and turn it into another reason why she isn't allowed within the gates.

As she walked quietly through the forest, she had an internal battle with herself.

'Why do they hate me soo much? Is it because I'm different? I didn't even touch the cart, what if I was sabotaged?'

'i didn't do anything wrong...did I? But...what if I did break the cart? Am I really a witch?'

'NO! Don't start thinking that... I'm not a witch...I could never, right?'

As she had an internal battle with herself, she tried to bury it deep down in her.

As she walked, the breeze of the wind blew a bit harder, but not too hard. She suddenly starts muttering her thoughts out unconsciously.

"They act like I asked for this." She muttered, kicking a root wit the tip of her boot.

"I didn't do anything" she said louder this time, as of the trees might defend her. "It was just wood, just cart...it was already old, maybe it broke on its own."

No one believed that, not even her.

"They act like I'm cursed" she muttered, tugging her basket higher on her back as twigs snagged her skirts. "Like I woke up and chose platinum hair and judgement." She stomped through the woods, muttering loudly to herself.

"It's not like I hexed anyone. I don't even know how to hex anyone. And if I did... maybe I'd start with Martha and her big mouth."

A twig creaked behind her causing her to stop short in her tracks, freezing. She heard another crunch. She slowly turned around and...

Her eyes fell upon the mysterious man. He was not hiding, not speaking... just watching.

If he's watching her, are you watching them?
