Chapter 74 - Chapter 73

Sophia replied to the message and was about to put down her phone. But after thinking for a moment, she picked it up again.

She was still interested in the third off-road car. So she sent a private message to Manager Su, the general manager of Tianwei Entertainment, whom she met at a banquet before.

"Manager Su, the off-road car you mentioned, is there a way to buy it? I want one."

She sent the message.

Not long after, Manager Su replied.

"Didn't you already order one from Haiwen? You want a second one?"

He was a little surprised.

Sophia sent a scratching-head emoji. "I like both."

Manager Su sent a shrugging emoji. "I don't get it. A girl like you actually likes off-road vehicles?"

Off-road cars looked cool, but they weren't very useful for daily life. Unless someone planned to go to the desert or deep into the mountains.

Sophia smiled. "It's a gift."

Manager Su stared at his phone and made a soft clicking sound with his tongue.

He became even more curious about Sophia. He had never heard of her before. They had only met briefly, and they weren't even close.

Finally, he replied, "I'll ask around for you."

But inside, he didn't really believe that Sophia was serious about buying the car.

Since he was young, he had seen many people try all kinds of ways to get into their social circle.

To him, this was just another way Sophia was trying to get close to them.

Sophia continued to buy the most practical food supplies. After she bought potatoes, she bought sweet potatoes, yams, rice, flour. She filled both the first and second floors.

She bought each type of food in amounts of two hundred thousand catties.

She also kept in touch with General Yves. She asked him to send a letter a few hours before he returned to the capital.

That way, she could have fresh vegetables and meat delivered in time.

After she got his letter, Sophia called the owner of the vegetable wholesale market and the owner of the meat wholesale market.

She made the calls in the morning. The food arrived that afternoon.

"There's no space left on the first or second floors. Take the freight elevator to the third floor."

Sophia told the workers to send everything upstairs.

After the vegetables were arranged, the truck carrying meat arrived. She had ordered one hundred butchered pigs.

Two big trucks of vegetables were delivered. It took three hours to unload them.

When they were almost done, the meat truck came.

The one hundred pigs didn't take as long. Everything was unloaded in about an hour.

The whole building belonged to Sophia. She didn't have to share the elevator with anyone. That's why the unloading was quick.

She had sent Ronin away before the fresh vegetables and meat were delivered.

The food that could be stored for a long time was easy to explain. But the fresh food was harder. If anyone saw it, they wouldn't know how to explain it.

Especially the pork. If it stayed overnight, it would probably go bad.

Sophia paid for everything on the spot and shut all the doors of the warehouse.

Then she pulled out the pig troughs.

After she confirmed with General Yves that it was safe to send, she began.

General Yves returned to the capital, but he didn't go to the palace right away.

He went straight back to his residence.

The people at the front gate saw the giant vehicle stop outside and were shocked.

Even though water trucks had come before to deliver water to the capital, seeing something that huge still made people step back without thinking.

The servants at the gate didn't move until they saw General Yves step down from the vehicle. Then they quickly came forward and bowed.

General Yves didn't pay attention to them. He walked quickly inside and looked for a big open space.

Then he turned to the servant beside him and said, "Stop following me. Go tell the steward to bring ten people here."

Just as he finished speaking, a pig suddenly fell from the sky. Its belly was already empty.

The servant was caught off guard. He screamed in fear and fell to the ground.

"Aaaah! A ghost!"

General Yves looked back with a disgusted expression on his face.

That servant was so scared, he wet himself.

General Yves closed his eyes and forced himself to stay calm. Luckily, the steward arrived at that moment.

General Yves repeated his instructions to him.

Before the steward could leave, another pig dropped from the sky.

"Heaven is blessing the nation of Zhao. It is giving food to the people. Go prepare now."

The steward's legs were shaking. He almost couldn't stand. After hearing General Yves' words, he calmed down and quickly went to organize things.

Soon, more than ten people were standing in the courtyard.

At first, seeing a pig fall from the sky was scary. But once they saw so many people there and General Yves looking calm, the fear slowly changed into hope.

The steward took the chance to tell the servants what General Yves had said earlier.

The servants all dropped to their knees. "Heaven bless the nation of Zhao."

Some people started crying while bowing their heads.

After everyone settled down, the steward told them to carry the pigs to the kitchen.

After all one hundred pigs had fallen, the servants who were waiting nearby looked disappointed. Why did it stop?

A short while later, yellow bags started falling. When they opened the bags, they found fresh cabbages inside.

"It's cabbage." The steward opened a bag and looked happily at General Yves. "Your Grace, it's cabbage."

They hadn't eaten fresh vegetables in a long time.

General Yves nodded. He still looked calm.

The steward kept arranging people to move the supplies. He also told others to clear out rooms to store the food.

Then he realized General Yves was still standing and quickly asked someone to bring a table and chair for him.

"Where is the cook? The general has returned. Hurry, cook a bowl of noodles for him."

He also ordered someone to bring food and water to the soldiers outside near the water trucks.

The quiet and cold mansion finally felt alive and full of energy again.

Sophia finished sending one hundred pigs and two full trucks of cabbage. Then she went to the second floor and dropped rice and flour bags.

She even used a pig trough to cover the rice and flour bags.

Back at General Yves' place, after all the vegetables had arrived, no more items came for a while.

The steward waited, then quietly asked if they should continue waiting.

"Your Grace, you've traveled a long way. Why don't you take a bath and rest? I'll handle things here."

Right after he said that, many bags of rice and flour started falling, like snow.

They kept falling, forming a small mountain in the courtyard.

General Yves quickly pulled the steward away and stepped back himself.

The other servants were slow to react at first, but when they saw what was happening, they quickly joined in.

At first, ten people were enough to handle the deliveries. But now the items were falling faster.

The steward had to take charge right away. If not, the whole courtyard would be buried.

Since General Yves was often away and there was no mistress in the house, the steward was always the one who managed everything. Very soon, the servants were working in a well-organized way.

The rice and flour bags were quickly moved out of the courtyard.

Once he finished organizing the workers, the steward returned to General Yves.

General Yves told him, "Go outside the city early tomorrow and set up a food station for the people."
