Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: The King and Queen

While Ethan was deep in sleep on the floor of the boat, a large and magnificent ship was silently advancing on the horizon. This ship, belonging to the Kingdom of Ravenna, displayed a majestic appearance with its blue and silver embellishments on the hull. One of the sailors on the deck, squinting his eyes, noticed a small boat drifting in the waves.

"There's someone on the boat!" the sailor exclaimed in surprise. This sudden awareness caused the ship to alter its course toward the small boat. King Marlon, Queen Nyla, and several knights on the deck also noticed the situation and focused their attention.

As soon as Queen Nyla saw that there was someone on the boat, she turned to her husband with concern. "Marlon, that boy looks alone and in need of help. We must assist him," she said, her face showing deep concern. The compassion and desire to help within her voice were evident.

King Marlon paused for a moment and looked at the sea. He was well aware of the dangers of the seas, but his wife's insistence and his own human emotions led him to make a quick decision. "Lower the boat and bring that boy aboard. We cannot leave him in this state," he said, his tone firm.

A group of sailors quickly lowered a boat and began rowing toward Ethan's boat. When they reached him, they found him fast asleep. One of the sailors gently touched his shoulder to try and wake him.

"Wake up, son," the sailor said in a soft voice. "We're going to bring you aboard, you're safe now."

When Ethan opened his eyes, he was met with unfamiliar faces and a massive ship. Trying to make sense of what was happening, the sailors helped him gather his belongings and brought him aboard the large ship. As he stepped onto the deck, his eyes met Queen Nyla and King Marlon, who were waiting to greet him.

Queen Nyla approached Ethan with compassion. "Hello, young man," she said with a warm smile. "I'm Queen Nyla, and this is King Marlon. We were worried about you. What happened, can you tell us?" Her voice carried a motherly tenderness, showing a soft and understanding demeanor as she tried to earn the young boy's trust.

At first, Ethan tried to understand what had happened, but his mind was confused from the deep sleep and shock, and he sat down, disoriented.

Seeing Queen Nyla's careful gaze, Ethan took a deep breath. "Thank you," he said, his voice trembling and a bit nervous. "I'm grateful that you helped me here."

As Ethan's eyes wandered over the ship's bright deck, he watched the dance of the lamp lights in the corners. It blended with the feeling of finding himself in such a foreign place. "I... I was on a ship," he began, his voice steadying a bit. "Our ship was caught in a huge storm, and I had to escape in a boat."

He averted his eyes and continued, "My little boat started drifting in the middle of the sea. I was exhausted from hunger and lack of sleep, and I fell asleep. I couldn't see any land or other ships. Then, I woke up here... here."

Queen Nyla's face softened, and she exchanged a brief glance with her husband. King Marlon, listening intently to Ethan's words, nodded. "We're glad we brought you here," Marlon said, smiling. "You're safe now. Let's think about how we can help you."

Ethan nodded with a deep sense of relief. "Thank you," he repeated, this time more sincerely. "I really... needed help."

Queen Nyla, approaching Ethan in a friendly manner, said, "We'd like to talk to you a bit more. We can make you comfortable aboard the ship, and we'd like to understand what you've been through. Please come with us," she said, gently placing her hand on Ethan's shoulder.

Ethan, guided by the Queen's gentle encouragement, slowly stood up and followed her, accompanied by the sailors, as they headed inside the ship. With the hopeful thought that he would find a safe place and leave behind the dangers he had faced, he stepped inside.

As Ethan moved deeper into the ship, he felt as if he had entered another world. As he progressed, he encountered a warm environment, and the corridor was lit by the glow of lamps. The interior of the ship was furnished in luxury and grandeur; the walls were covered with heavy curtains, and the floor was made of shining wood.

Queen Nyla led the way, occasionally turning to offer Ethan a reassuring smile. "Our ship may be large and complicated, but we'll find a place where you'll be comfortable," she said, her warm tone making Ethan feel a bit more at ease.

King Marlon and several knights followed them protectively. Ethan was able to observe the interior and the surprisingly beautiful details of the ship for a short time before being led to a room. The furnishings inside were carefully selected for sea travel and designed to match the lavish style of the ship. The room was furnished with soft, comfortable cushions, and there were bookshelves in the corners, a large desk, and windows offering a view of the sea.

Queen Nyla opened the door to the room and invited Ethan inside. "Please, come in and relax. How about something to eat and drink?" she said, gently guiding him to a chair.

Seeing the comfort of the room, Ethan relaxed a little. As he entered, a servant immediately approached with a cup of hot drink and some food. Ethan slowly sat down in the chair, taking a sip from the cup and trying to compose himself. The drink was warm and soothing, easing his hunger and fatigue.

Queen Nyla gently approached and sat next to Ethan. King Marlon, meanwhile, sat in a chair near the corner of the room, continuing to watch Ethan carefully. Queen Nyla looked into Ethan's eyes and said, "We'd like to talk to you and understand your experiences better. You're safe here, but there are some things we need to know. Can we chat about it?" Her voice held genuine curiosity and interest.

Ethan hesitated for a moment and nodded. "Sure," he said, taking a deep breath. "Is there something you'd like to ask?"

Queen Nyla smiled slightly and continued, "Yes, first of all, we need to understand why we found you in this situation. Is there more to it than just the storm? Also, we'd like to know if the belongings on the boat were yours and what kind of danger you were in," she continued. Her compassion and understanding in her voice encouraged Ethan to open up more.

Ethan sighed and began, "Our ship's name was 'Black Wave.' The crew had been at sea for a long time, and we'd faced several storms recently. But this one was much worse. Our ship was taking on water, and it was getting harder to move forward. Most of the crew abandoned the ship in the middle of the storm. I decided to try escaping in the boat, but unfortunately, my small boat didn't know where to go. I was just trying to survive."

As Queen Nyla listened carefully, a look of sadness appeared in her eyes. "You've been through a very difficult situation. Such storms can truly be deadly," she said, gently touching Ethan's shoulder. "But now you're safe. For us to help you, it's important that everything is clear. We'll take good care of you here and see to all your needs."

King Marlon nodded supportively. "Your safety is very important to us. Our doctors will check on you and provide whatever you need. Now, rest for a bit, and we'll help you more afterward," he said.

Ethan felt a deep sense of gratitude for their generous actions. "Thank you so much," he said, feeling even more at ease. "Your kindness means a lot to me."

Queen Nyla and King Marlon smiled at him and nodded. "We're always ready to help. Now rest and regain your strength. We'll take care of you," Queen Nyla said.

Ethan took a deep breath and leaned back, feeling relaxed. The kindness of the Queen and King had helped ease some of the hardships he had faced. The room had been prepared to meet his needs, and the feeling of safety there lifted his spirits.

Before closing the door, Queen Nyla said, "The doctors will visit you soon. We'll talk to them to understand your health condition better," and gently left the room.

Ethan began to rest in the soothing atmosphere of the new environment. Knowing that he was safe brought him peace, and the lightness of leaving the dangers behind allowed him to gradually drift into sleep.
