The movie theater room felt incredibly warm as I sat next to Rhys, hyper-aware of every movement of his body against mine. On the screen, the witch and warrior continued their passionate affair, their moans filling the surround sound system. I tried desperately to focus on anything else, but my attention kept snapping back to Rhys's hand resting possessively on my leg.
"You okay?" Debra whispered from my other side, a knowing smirk on her face. "You look a little... flushed."
I shot her a warning glance. "I'm fine."
"You should lean on him," she suggested, nodding toward Rhys. "That's what movie nights are for."
I rolled my eyes but couldn't help noticing how Seraphina was staring across the room at Julian Mercer. Her gaze hadn't moved from him for the past twenty minutes, and I wondered if she realized how obvious she was being. Julian, for his part, seemed completely oblivious as he mindlessly shoved popcorn into his mouth.
