Mirae Kim sighed as she threw the piece of paper into the trash bin. She glanced at the watch that she had gotten for her loving boyfriend, Kyler, as she started crying.
Back then when they were in junior high, "Mirae Kim! Will you be my girlfriend?!" A young boy with glasses asked a gangster girl who looked uninterested in his bookworm attitude. Mirae looked at him while his hands were shaking holding a piece of flower he just picked in a park.
Mirae smirked and ignored the guy in eyeglasses as she started talking to her friends.
"Hey!" Kyler shouted. "I know you don't see me as a man right now but I will surely come back to you and show you how much of a man I can be! So prepare yourself!" He insisted as he ran away.
Mirae burst out laughing as she didn't expect that a nerd guy like Kyler would just say it bluntly on her face.
"Not a man huh.." she said as she smiled picking the flower he left. "Mirae stop picking with that kid, He's already dealing with tons of things." Her friend Dixie said.
"Nah I just find him amusing for having the courage to confess to a scary girl like me." She said as she kept the flower in her notebook.
Mirae Kim was an astonishing freshman as she already made a record for the first day of school detention when she smack a girl's head on a table just because she got pissed at them for picking on a nerd which is Kyler.
"I think he started liking you after that detention," Dixie said as she smoked her weed.
"Yeah, I think the same too..." Mirae said as months passed and she never saw that nerd again causing Mirae to be curious and ask his section about him.
"We really don't know but he suddenly drops out from our school." One of his classmates said. Mirae didn't know but she felt sad hearing such a thing as she was expecting that nerd to move her heart.
"I see..." She said as she slowly walked out of their classroom and skipped class to smoke.
'My bad for expecting so much...' Mirae said as the smoke blurred her vision from the sky.
"We're you looking for me!" Kyler asked as Mirae stopped and looked at Kyler who looked like an entirely changed person.
"I thought you dropped out?" Mirae asked. "That's what everyone thought since I changed my appearance they didn't remember the nerd Kyler who is often invisible in their eyes," Kyler explained as he sat down next to her.
"So when will you quit smoking so you won't
die early?" He asked as Mirae looked at her cigarette.
"I don't know..." Mirae said as she was out of words. The nerd that confesses to her really changes in a lot of ways that you won't recognize him as the nerd that confessed to her a few months ago.
"Mirae..." Dixie called that caught both of their attention. "You know it's time to go." She said as Mirae stood up and came with her.
Mirae decided to quit being part of the gang after getting tired of dealing with illegal drugs and weed to smoke out. She decided to become a fully change person yet she knows that it wasn't an easy way out for her.
"When did you start deciding on leaving the gang?" Dixie asked as her boyfriend Jones had a bat on his hands.
"A week ago," Mirae answered as she knows what will happen next as they start beating the sh*t out of her until her bones crack up and she bled to death.
"Leave her alone now, I think that's enough already," Dixie said as she still felt pity with her old good friend Mirae as they left her bleeding in the corner.
"Mirae...."
"Mirae..."
"MIRAE!"
Mirae woke up and found herself in the hospital. Her parents are not around as usual but her maids and butlers are present.
"I don't know what you're doing at school Ms. Kim but please know that we are running out of money." Mirae's father said as he looked pissed knowing how much hospital bills would cause.
"Lucky for you the guy who bought you here was a good guy and paid everything." He added.
"A guy brought me here?" Mirae asked as her memory was blurry.
Days passed and it was time for Mirae to get discharged when she saw Kyler outside with a bouquet of flowers in his hands. "Finally you out," he said as he smiled. "Why are you doing this thing, Kyler?" Mirae asked when he was about to reply when her parents butt into the conversation.
"We are very sorry Mr. Jung for our daughter's horrible attitude. I am Enrique, Her father and this is her Mom Julia Kim. We are very happy to see you here." Mirae's father said as Mirae was lost for words on how her father almost praised Kyler.
"There is no need to say sorry at all Mr. Kim. I am just here to give Mirae these flowers-"
"I don't like it," Mirae said looking at the sunflower bouquet he had in his hands.
"Mirae! Don't be so rude!" Her mother scolds her Mirae looked pissed as they grabbed the bouquet and shove it in Mirae's arm.
"I'm allergic to sunflower," Mirae said slowly as Kyler was stunned and immediately grabbed the bouquet and threw it away in the trash bin. "Look what you did with that horrible attitude of yours Mirae." Mrs. Kim said as Kyler went back to them.
"I am sorry Mirae I didn't know and it was my fault for not knowing. This won't be happening again." He reassured as Mirae was stunned and was out of words. She was used by her parents pushing things on her without hearing her side yet this time it was different.
'Kyler heard my little voice...'
She thought as Kyler smiled at her. The first time ever she felt heard and understood was the day she came out of the hospital meeting this angel.
Mirae shoves her head into the pillow as tears can't stop falling as she remembers their past.
"Mirae! What did you do?! Why did you break with that Millionaire kid!" Mr. Kim shouted as he kept on banging into her wall. Mirae cannot take it as she opens the door with her eyes and nose red facing her father as she starts crying.
"All you think about is money! You never once thought about me! I helped us in a lot of ways but the both of you cannot succeed in any business industry causing us to be in more debt!" she shouted as her mother started crying too.
No mom can bear to see their daughters this way.
"I was cheated!"
"BOYS ALWAYS CHEAT! But who cares about cheating Mirae? Use your dumb brain and take the guy back! That guy is one of a kind and he has tons of money to repay the pain he caused." he added as Mirae could not believe what her father was saying.
"What the hell are you saying..." she said as she felt dizzy and just wanted to go out for fresh air.
"Mirae where are you going? Get back together with KYLER!" her father shouted as her Mom stopped her Dad from catching up to her.
"Stop this already Enrique, our daughter was in pain already! Don't add up to her pain." Julia pleaded as Enrique looked pissed and slammed the door to their room.
Mirae was walking down the road barefoot as she forgot to even wear slippers just because she was running away from home. Running away from her parents and running away from the pain she's been feeling.
A guy in a suit dropped off from the LV store saw Mirae barefoot as she passed by him. He glanced at her foot and decided to buy some boots in the LV store and immediately catch up to her.
No person in the right mind of state would go barefoot in the blizzard-cold season. Not even homeless people would dare go barefoot yet Mirae caught her attention as she was walking like the cold didn't bother her at all while her mind was floating somewhere.
"Excuse me,"
Mirae stopped and looked back as a tall handsome guy in his 30's smiled at her. "I know it's not my business but please wear these boots," he said as he gave Mirae the LV box.
"I'm a Psychiatrist and I know something was bothering you yet walking in this cold barefoot wouldn't give you any benefit," he said as he smiled at Mirae. "Do you want to talk about it?" he asked as Mirae smiled.
"Giving me an LV boots in this freezing season like it was nothing you must be rich," Mirae said as her tears fell. "Yeah, I think I am." The man answered.
"I see...I hate kind rich guys." Mirae whispered as her body slowly collapsed lucky for her the guy's reflection was fast.
"Sir, Are you okay?" his butler Arthur asked as he stared at Mirae. "Can you drive us to my condo unit? I don't think I'll be able to drive like this." He said as he checked Mirae's temperature.
"Sir, It's dangerous to bring a stranger into your unit," Arthur said as he smiled.
"I know but a doctor never ignores a patient," he said as Arthur bowed his head down and opened the door as the Ajussi took Mirae with him.
